Man Patty is incredible!!!! Been in love with this woman' s voice ever since I can remember! and a big thanks to ALL of those people who made it possible for all of us who feel the same as I do to hear her sing. Absolutely beautiful! nothing or nobody else like her. And as time goes on, she just gets better , and I'll be forever grateful to have had the experience of hearing her. Hope I get to see, and meet her before I die!
Patty is one of the greatest country singers, I can listen to her all down. I especially love the ballads she sings. This song is great and beautiful..
Forgive me...but why is this called Patty Loveless discusses "Sleepless Nights"?...It really doesnt matter..its such a joy to hear her sing...I fell in love with her back in the early 90,s and this new album makes me very happy...to me she has the ultimate Lonesome voice...Long live the beautiful Ms. Loveless
Patty Loveless has stood up for tradition and musical integrity time and time again. Sleepless Nights is simply the next inspired chapter in that heroic story. Patty has more than earned the right to pursue this labor of love, and by so doing has created another masterpiece.
As for singles, Why Baby Why and Crazy Arms are far better than anything on the charts today, IMO.
Thank you Patty for following your heart and respecting your audience. We love you!
We had the pleasure of seeing Patty two nights ago in Alex, Va, and she is just as good........no, better.......than the first time I saw her some 20 years ago, when she was then "The Honky-Tonk Woman".
This particular song literally put a chill through my body. So beautiful.
Hey steviedeedee, I completely disagree with your take on this, but I agree it's certainly not a happy song! It's torchy, soulful and bluesy..maybe not your cup of tea. But don't give up on the album just yet, if indeed you are a true Patty fan. Have you heard her rendition of WHY BABY WHY? It'll knock yer socks off...and I'm sure there will be other more uptempo, if not upbeat tunes on her new album as well.
But these torch songs do have depth. They really do grow on you!

Hey Steve,
I'm not into nostalgia. All these, "artists", when the tank is empty revert to songs that have a successful track record. It's lame and predictable. Patty needs a great producer, great new songs and some confidence to stretch a little bit. If I want to get nostagic I'll put some Sammi Smith on.
I think Patty has stretched it all over, but somehow has kept the integrity of the music intact. What is left? Make a rock record? Try to sound like Taylor Swift or Jewell. That would be doing what most other lame-ass "country" "artist" is doing these days. God bless her for keeping the faith. Stevie, keep listening to the radio. You will find what you need there.

My friend, she hasn't stretched a thing. To regurgitate the past has nothing to do with integrity. It's playing it safe. You have TOTALLY missed my point. I'm sure you probably live in your mother's basement still.
FAITH??? FAith in what??? She needs to take a chance and get with a producer that challenges her...How 'bout Joe henry???
Beautiful woman, great singer. We need more like her to keep traditional country alive. Thanks you Patty for your great
music.

oh gawwd, it's so good to hear real country in a world of 'country'. The crap they peddle on the radio and emteevee is strangling a wonderful genre.

this should be a model for new country artists--this is what sets country music apart, not the song but the way it is sung!

Beautiful changes in this song.

What a great vocal on this classic Felice and Boudeleaux Bryant song. Patty Loveless could sing the phone book.
