Yea it was a super foul, but not a bad throw for a college freshmen. But far as fouls are concerned Brian Oldfield fouled an 85 footer. That's the furthest foul I know of. Randy Barnes has also fouled a 79 footer. So again 76 isn't that impressive when compared to these other fouls but as a freshmen the guy was unbeatable and one of the best in the world at such a young age. Although his improvement of 8 feet despite a heavier implement from high school to college is strange. Steroids?

You clearly misunderstood, I'm saying he super fouled it. There's a hand full of throwers even today that can foul throws over 76 feet like that. It's further than the world record but that's because he used more room than a circle allows. It's why his best legal throw even years later was short of that at 75'10. I was also comparing that foul to other much larger fouls. Brian Oldfield fouled a throw 9 feet further, it makes 76 seem like crap. So basically, just learn to read before you reply.

I disagree, Brian Oldfield threw an 85ft foul once. Compared to that this foul is pathetic. Also later on in life Randy Barnes threw a 79ft foul. At this level 3 ft and 9ft increases over something are huge differences over this 76ft foul. I bet Christian Cantwell right now could foul over 77ft, but shot put is about staying in the ring. Also Randy flew out of the ring, he wasn't even close to staying in. What's more impressive is his 72ft legal throw the next year as a sophomore...steroids?

Thats why he's attempt was so long - he stepped out! It means that he had more momentum than in normal attempt. Circuit is 213,5 cm, so use your run up inside it! I also had good attempts when I had longer run up and stepped out of the circuit! It seems Randy needed half of meter more in this attempt!

Can't anything away from him: His "official but not amateur" 75, when guys dreamed of 70, is still only topped by RB's 75'10". Brian at the time was lanky for a SPer.
