@TheBlingblinggirl69 Thank you!! I'm planning to post an update video of them this week too! I like your little gliders' names too....the white ones are a really interesting breed...can't wait to see yours!!
I have a question, I heard at a sugar glider place (pocket pets) that they are nocturnal, but they are so smart that they can change their routine. Is that true? If so, then have you done it?
@airsoftdudes Nice to hear from you! They are nocturnal by nature so I don't know if they can just change it. That's like us humans deciding that we'll stay up all night and sleep all day. It's possible but when would you work and interact with the rest of the world? lol. In their case, because they have owners who are awake during the day, they will wake up and play with us for a few hours but they do sleep during the day. Hope this makes sense :-) Keep in touch!
@594JLP Hi - They eat fruits, vegetables and they have their own special Sugar Glider food and vitamins. In their natural habitat they eat insects, tree saps/syrups, fruits, etc.
@fwenchfye LOL - I know...that's how I saw mine too...walking through the mall on Valentine's day last year lol. I paid a few hundred dollars for each one...don't remember the exact price anymore...it will vary depending on location, etc.
Marsupial power! These little cuties could charm the tears out of ya. They seem like magical furry beings that would be fun to play with. I wonder what all is involved in taking care of them, and do they get along with other kinds of animals?
@rmsolympic1 LOL - Hi, nice to hear from you. I've heard that they can be trained to get along with other domestic animals like cats and dogs but they still should be supervised just like you would with children...they require a special temperature since they are tropical and they have a special diet...I love them though :-)
@mylaylay18 Madam, Spunky says that he is not ' a typical male, ' but rather that he is the strong, silent type! A lil laid back, not so busy like his girl Tinky, but a cuddly and modest man of steel! He also says to please put the covers back, so he can get some shut eye:)
@rmsolympic1 LMBO!!!! You are SO right about Mr. Spunky. He is SO laid back lol. He is the one who likes to scope out the environment while Tinky likes to tend to their little home (a.k.a. the pouch lol). Reminds me so much and me and my hubby's personalities lol
@mylaylay18 Yeah, I guess its been like that since Eden. Funny that some animal couples roll that way, too-man tryin ta cop some z's under a bush, while wifey's out socializing, trolling through adventures, and finding various reasons to wake him up and given him things that she has found for him to do. I bet she thinks she's smartere than him, too:)! But I bet he loves that pink-nose cutie. Power to marsups!
@rmsolympic1 LOL!! Too funny!!! I like your imagination and see you know animals. Spunky LOVES him some Tinky lol. Whenever I separate them after they've been "fussing" at each other he always starts looking for her and actin' a fool until I bring her back...men!
@mylaylay18 Yes, I think that is the imprefect n cosmic push-pull - the essential and delicious friction between male and female - that eventually makes oneness, makes greatness, makes kids, and so forth. Though we need a lil sun and time alone spent with ourselves and with things man-ish - and at those times we are happy that the great-she is out and about - we will fight to the last drop of our blood if you take our sweetness from us! My furry buddy Spunky is reppin it right!
hi Google pocketpets or sugar bears dot com for more info. Unless you already know about sugar gliders, I wouldn't just jump up and adopt one. They're exotic pets meaning they aren't used to being domesticated like cats & dogs. So, they nip, bite & defend themselves for months (sometimes permanently if the owner isn't bonding with them correctly). You also have to buy TWO, not one because just like you, a human, they need love too. They require special temperatures in your home 2.
@qochemist LOL - You're welcome! I love them...they're my first pets. I have allergies to pretty much every other normal pet so Tinky & Spunky were God-sent :-). They're a handful and they give me a run for my patience but I smile every time I peek in at them and that makes up for it. Glad you decided to check out one of their videos..they've been on here since I started sharing my braidloc journey in March..they've grown!
@HARLAB12 Thank you! I've never seen them prior to adopting them either lol. I just fell in love when I saw one and had to get two on the spot lol. They are in a pouch that I can clip to my shirt, pants, cage, etc. They are marsupials (kangaroo family) so they like to be in pouches. SO, they think the pouch is the safest spot so that's where they spend most of their time (if not all) during the day. So nice to meet you! Really appreciate you commenting. Have a great week and keep in touch! <3<3
@agatkasan Thanks! They are the CUTEST when it comes to the love they show to one another. They also bicker like people and wind up not wanting to be around each other for a few hours, it's so funny! Hope you're enjoying your week!! <3<3
@petsticklesgirls1 Hey! Nice to meet you. Since we're still in the bonding process, I'd recommend you look to the professionals. Check out expertvillage or sugarglidervet on Youtube for more information on Sugar Gliders..they do a much better job and I'm still learning :-D...hope you have a great week, and keep in touch!
@BlueIndigo009 LOL - I like how they hide their faces too...except when they're hiding from me when I'm trying to cuddle or be loving to them. I guess they are early training for children who will pretty much be the same after a while...independent lol. Hope all is well with you. Always appreciate your comments. Have a great week and keep in touch!
@dreadedbeauti Thank you! I don't know about an "easy" pet though lol. I guess it depends on the level of bonding you'd like to do with them. They're still scared of me and I've had them since March lol. So, they're still not in my hand for long periods of time without jumping out. Other than that, they're very quiet and don't cause a lot of trouble so that part would be easy. Thanks for stopping by!! Nice to hear from you. Enjoy your week and keep in touch!
@speerrituall1 Thank you! I learn a lot from them...like patience lol. They are the cutest every time I peek in at them..thanks for stopping by. Nice to hear from you. Hope you're doing well and enjoying the week. Keep in touch! <3<3
At first, I was like my son would appreciate them. But, as I watch they grew on me. Cute. But, Miss Tinky and I wouldn't get alone with her barking at night. I'd have to leave a light on for her. Thanks 4 sharing.
@zheahra LOL - Tinky barks occasionally. I probably painted a more dramatic picture of her than she deserves. I haven't heard her bark in a few weeks (unless she does it while I'm sleep and we no longer keep them in our room). She still crabs when she's scared though...too cute! With these two, it's an ongoing journey learning how to bond with them and not frighten them at the same time lol. Nice to hear from you! Hope you're enjoying your week! Much love! <3<3
@Buddhalocks Thank you! Good to hear from you :-)...I believe they will grow to be about 5-6 ounces (or half a pound) and get as long as their tails. However, you will still be able to pick them up and cup them in your hands...even as adults...so they're pretty small..perhaps the size of a tiny kitten?
@GrowJunkieXL You are so welcome! The funny thing is we haven't "officially" confirmed that Tinky is the female and Spunky is the male, we just "know" by how they behave which one is male and female, it's instinctive. Hopefully we're right :-D Much love, respect and best wishes for you and yours!!!
