The ACC is in a serious slump right now. I'll give the Deacons the edge in basketball over MD right now but football is totally up for grabs.

I sure hope so too, although we have to finish with some tough away games. Shame it took Ralph this long to open it up, but hopefully we can salvage whats left and get to Boise or if there is a better bowl possible then there. Based on where it looked like our season was headed before this weekend, I'd take 8 wins in a heartbeat (I was hoping we'd get 5 before that game).

yes i'm sure you'd say the same thing if your best defensive player was not playing...henderson is now supposedly really banged up (broken hand, same problem with legs he's missed time for, etc.). You can act like I'm whining but at some point its just ridiculous how much this team has lost.
UVA has 5 starters out for that game as well. As far as the refs..they missed a lot of calls that should have gone against UMD so that works both ways....Id say UVA came out on the short end of the stick on bad calls.

I love Ralph Friedgen, and I want him to be at Maryland for years. However, that dude has got to lose some SERIOUS weight! Being middle-aged, that overweight, and having a stressful job where you are always on your feet is DANGEROUS! Anyone agree?
That Navy-Maryland game in Baltimore in 2005 was awesome! It was a war to the end! I think those teams should play at the beginning of the season in either Baltimore or Landover every season! It could be an awesome in-state rivalry! Amen?
Ralph Friedgen may be one of the most brilliant offensive-minded coaches in the history of football. Not only has he done an awesome job at Maryland, but he was also the OC under Bobby Ross when Georgia Tech won the National Title in 1990 and when Ross took the Chargers to the Superbowl in the mid-90's.

LOL yeah their calls only sealed the loss for us like that 4th down given to you at the end of the game. Maryland has lost:
-top 2 QBs
-Starting FB now out
-3 O-linemen (including a preseason All-American)
-Best D-lineman
-Henderson was out for a while, theres another preseason All-American

Ralph Friedgen is a perfect example of a coach who does MORE with LESS. Maryland is far from one of the easiest sells for top talent.
1. Maryland Football has some tradition, but not loads.
2. The State of Maryland is not a football factory.
3. The football team is in the shadows of the hoops team.
4. Maryland's stadium only holds a little over 50,000.
5. Maryland's campus is okay, but it is too big to be considered beautiful.
6. College Park is not the best college town.

Parts of it are very pretty. However, as a whole, the campus is huge! IMHO, UVA and UNC are 2 schools that have much prettier campuses than Maryland.
