First of all the Veyron is a road car that happens to be incredibly fast. It comes with all the creature comfort and amazing performance that a a road car requires. Though for the money I prefer the Zonda. This gt is a drag car. It's built for massive acceleration and straight away. This is apples and oranges.
@NordicBlood84 This GT is a road car as well. The body, interior, minus the driver seat, and trans is all stock. This isn't a drag car by any stretch and will still out handle a Veyron on the track as it sits, as long as you stay out of boost. But it's not fair to compare highly modified cars to stock ones.
Ford gt is probably the best American super car but this version should not be compared to a veyron, reading some of the comments here is borderline hillarious.
@NordicBlood84 Yea if the Veyron wants to be able to compete it'd need at least another 500hp and go on a real diet... but then again if you take a pair of it's snails off and replace the others with larger units you can probably save a good 50lbs by also removing unneeded plumbing. It's not what Bugatti cracks it up to be. It's a heavy autobahn bully. A Superduper Supra with AWD.
@proctortoad Which GT-R would beat it to 200 mph? A severely modified one MAY beat it to 200 mph i dunno...but a stock one can only get to 173-ish in the mile with minimal headwind. This car went 266 mph with a 20 mph head wind and they still haven't turned the wick up all the way. Boost Logic's car only went like 205 which, as the poster below mentions, ISN'T EVEN CLOSE to 266. Supposedly without the nasty head wind, she's a 275 mph car in the same state of tune.
@QrazyQracker13 No, stock GT-Rs will not hit 190 mph at the Texas Mile...at least nobody HAS hit that yet..again, at the TEXAS Mile. A lot of GT-Rs have shown up and early models (2009-10 spec) were running in the 165-168 mph range..2011 models running in the 170+ range..which makes sense given 2012 models typically only trap 122 ish in the quarter stock.173 is the fastest I have seen personally though I wouldn't be surprised to see somebody hitting 175 with taped up front bumper on a good day.
@tinleo333 The GT-R does have great aerodynamics but I don't think Nissan has some magical transmission in the works to take care of ultra high speeds. lol.They are more concerned with low speed acceleration, fuel economy etc. A heavy AWD car is never gonna be a top speed king..both of those things are not exactly conducive to winning records. Not only that, but even AMS is having to essentially re-engineer the engine to get an Alpha 12 to make HALF the power of this Ford GT. lol

It can and will make well over 2,000 rwhp. The Alpha 12 maxed out has made like 1,365 whp and that is with a completely redesigned engine, block, sleeving, heads etc and a rebuilt tranny etc.

AMS ran a 3.3 on drag radials on a drag strip, UR ran a 3.0 on the street, on a slight incline, with a passenger lol. This GT is trapping 160mph+ in the 1/4 on a concrete runway. That shit is crazy.

All I see are TT Vipers and big single T Supras duking it out but when it comes to mile events the Ford GT seems to prevail.

I'm curious to know what Nera TT-R runs 60-130 seeing as it traped a 9.0 @ 177. Far as Ford GTs this is the fastest one ever built, don't think it's hit the strip but GT-TTs I believe usually run in the 9s @ 145-160+, not the ideal setup for 1/4 digging and launching. But in a mile a rear weight bias and great aero mixed with this engine has it at the top :}

The only thing they changed with this car for this run is they took the rearview mirrors off (266 mph can wreak havoc on mirrors, haha) I do see some badass 2jz setups around the net though.

The Ford GT is out of a Supras league the minute you sit inside one or even just look at its curves. Nobody has spent time to make a Ford GT drag car because you kind of ruin a car when you do it and Supras have never been special or valuable enough to worry about ruining.

Comparing a stock block boost only 8.4l against a filled 3.4l with a shot. There is a replacement for displacement, it's boost. There is no replacement for boost and displacement however.
@BIHxJDMxSUPRA The same engine kit that SW uses is for sell from BL, and it's listed as a block fill. But his is not a full block fill. I was mistaken, I don't believe it was a block fill when it ran a 7.9sec 1/4, but for it's 246mph run it was, and is.

@HiboostRacingClub If there's this much difference between the timing methods they need to standardize it. Why isn't it standardized if it's not? I'm a drag racer, you can go to any track in the country that is a quarter mile track operating under NHRA rules and they all time exactly the same way, the differences in recorded times come from traction and air density. These tracks have similar elevation so the times should be very comparable if timing is consistent. Miami looks smoother in video.
@iPROFITDON The fastest Supra ever to run as far as I know ran 247 mph..Tommy Bahn from Autobahn Motorsports. Its one of the most built if not THE most built Supra ever (he put about $160K into the project)

What would be the point in wasting a Ford GT to do that? Something like the car in the video is easily done because it's running a stock block with a twin turbo setup and stock gearing they didn't have to replace the transmission or tear out the interior or even destroy the suspension.

Actually technically they kinda were as a track car it needed a high powerband and a high top speed both are benefits for mile runs. The Ford GT just happens to have a 6th gear capable of 270+ mph stock, does a Supra?
@HiboostRacingClub It's a block fill that isn't fully filled. Water still flows but not as much. Great for making strong big power engines because it greatly strengthens the block. But it's not ideally for street use because it'll quickly over heat rather quickly. SWs supra put down around 1600rwhp with a shot of juice, which is insane, but it would not survive a mile at that power level.

Just took out the UGR Lambo 60-130 roll on race and cracked 8's at 167 in the 1/4. But for 1 mile runs. Ford GT all the way. For purely dragging. Still the TT Viper is king. Wonder what those 2 top dogs have in common ;). BTW. I love all Supras GTR Vette Ford GT and Vipers. What a great time we live in with these selections to fit our needs LOL.

@westy44cal 0-60mph videos? I don't understand why people are proud of winning a 0-60 jump then getting stomped into the ground. GTR didn't take UR's 60-130 record. AMS ran a 3.3 on drag radials on a drag strip, UR ran a 3.0 on the street, on a slight incline, with a passenger lol. This GT is trapping 160mph+ in the 1/4 on a concrete runway. That shit is crazy.

@iPROFITDON I was being facetious about the 0-60 videos as that is what the GTR excels at. I was not aware that UGR Lambo took that 60-130 back as I thought the Alpha 12 recently bested it. Seems like you are in the know. What's the best 1/4 mile ET/trap to date for the Ford GT(modded of course)? All I see are TT Vipers and big single T Supras duking it out but when it comes to mile events the Ford GT seems to prevail.

@westy44cal The R1K-X and Alpha 12 both bested UGR's older time, then they took Bob Helms SL out and took it back on a test drive. I'm curious to know what Nera TT-R runs 60-130 seeing as it traped a 9.0 @ 177. Far as Ford GTs this is the fastest one ever built, don't think it's hit the strip but GT-TTs I believe usually run in the 9s @ 145-160+, not the ideal setup for 1/4 digging and launching. But in a mile a rear weight bias and great aero mixed with this engine has it at the top :}

Respond Versatility and performance are two very different things. I would like some knowledge on the subject however. I find it hard to believe that a 3.0L engine is going to give this car any competition unless the entire engine block is some new material and it is twin turbo running 60lbs of boost and a 1500 shot of nitrous all the way down the track, haha. this video...

The only thing they changed with this car for this run is they took the rearview mirrors off (266 mph can wreak havoc on mirrors, haha) I do see some badass 2jz setups around the net though.

@BIHxJDMxSUPRA what was the trap speed? Also, I was joking about the 3.0L - I know people that love supras get peeved when I mention an ls7 because chevy needs 6.2-7.0 liters to make the hp, it was just a joke. Also, a lot of hill climbers use a 3.0 twin turbo tuned to peak at 10,000 rpms.

The Ford GT is out of a Supras league the minute you sit inside one or even just look at its curves. Nobody has spent time to make a Ford GT drag car because you kind of ruin a car when you do it and Supras have never been special or valuable enough to worry about ruining.

Ford GTs will always be worth a lot of money because thats what happens with cars that are very special. They don't have a naturally aspirated automatic version of them (cough Supra SE)..every Ford GT is top of the range and not a SC300 with a wing.

The fastest Supras are drag cars with massive rake, slicks and skinnies, auto drag trannys and no interior. lol. Why waste a Ford GT to make a drag car? Use a Supra cause cause nobody cares if you cut one up.If thats a case, you can build a street driven drag S10/Sonoma that runs 8s for SUPER CHEAP and waste supras

If you search youtube for slammed98gmc there is a great example of one that is more streetable than some of these Supras yet runs 8.84 at 160 mph. @BIHxJDMxSUPRA Yes, SW's supra did run a 7.9 with a 6 speed. But it's not full weight, a partial block fill engine, not boost only. Not a street car, SW said so himself lol. Comparing a stock block boost only 8.4l against a filled 3.4l with a shot. There is a replacement for displacement, it's boost. There is no replacement for boost and displacement however.

@BIHxJDMxSUPRA The same engine kit that SW uses is for sell from BL, and it's listed as a block fill. But his is not a full block fill. I was mistaken, I don't believe it was a block fill when it ran a 7.9sec 1/4, but for it's 246mph run it was, and is.

@HiboostRacingClub If there's this much difference between the timing methods they need to standardize it. Why isn't it standardized if it's not? I'm a drag racer, you can go to any track in the country that is a quarter mile track operating under NHRA rules and they all time exactly the same way, the differences in recorded times come from traction and air density. These tracks have similar elevation so the times should be very comparable if timing is consistent. Miami looks smoother in video.

@iPROFITDON The fastest Supra ever to run as far as I know ran 247 mph..Tommy Bahn from Autobahn Motorsports. Its one of the most built if not THE most built Supra ever (he put about $160K into the project)

What would be the point in wasting a Ford GT to do that? Something like the car in the video is easily done because it's running a stock block with a twin turbo setup and stock gearing they didn't have to replace the transmission or tear out the interior or even destroy the suspension.

Actually technically they kinda were as a track car it needed a high powerband and a high top speed both are benefits for mile runs. The Ford GT just happens to have a 6th gear capable of 270+ mph stock, does a Supra?

@HiboostRacingClub It's a block fill that isn't fully filled. Water still flows but not as much. Great for making strong big power engines because it greatly strengthens the block. But it's not ideally for street use because it'll quickly over heat rather quickly. SWs supra put down around 1600rwhp with a shot of juice, which is insane, but it would not survive a mile at that power level.

@JoshPwnsRunescape You obviously know nothing about cars. A 2011 Mustang GT 5.0 outperforms a 2011 Camaro SS in EVERY category. It out brakes it, out slaloms it, out handles it and kills it on a dragstrip. In fact, the camaro hasnt been faster for awhile now. A 2003 Mach 1 was as fast as an LS1 Fbody and the 2003-2004 Terminators destroyed LS1 fbodies and its still faster than even the new SS. Go look up some facts before posting.
