To all the haters on the thread talking about the skills of these fine players, STFU! talking is easy. A bunch of you probably play online and have not attempted to play at an arcade let alone a tournament, especially one that carries the weight of qualifying for SBO. Thats why online is whack, while it is good practice that feeling of venue and the person your facing can not be replicated through Xbox live or PSN. I'm almost positive Ross buffered the ultra in anticipation of a tiger shot rather than had inhuman reaction time. He whiffs the ultra in the first round against Sagat in a very similar situation, except in that case, he had an itchy trigger finger and pressed the buttons too quickly. You can see that Sagat ducks right before the ultra, possibly to bait something from Ross (like an ultra).

well yeah.. why not buffer an ultra? if you're low on health and you think your opponent's gonna slip up, you're better off buffering something that does massive damage than pussy out by jumping over a fireball where there wouldn't be any hope of a comeback and not taking the high-reward risk. A lot of people use their ears to help them play also. sagat yells for every tiger shot, which enough of an indicator to respond appropriately.

It was mostly due to the pressure of qualifying for SBO... only 1 team can go, and 31 entered. theres a lot of pressure. and mike was the release man for his team, when his teammate losses it all on him
