I will tell you why I LOVE LA/Santa Monica/Venice beach, the WEATHER! I live in FL where in the summer its sooooo muggy, HOT, rainy, and just plain gross out that you hate to be outside. I visited Santa Monica in the middle of the summer and at the beaches it wasin the upper 60's to low 70's! . I was the only guy at the beach wearing pants, long sleeve, and a beanie. I loved it there and I plan to move as soon as I can.

@jgq85 You could easily live there on 40-50k especially if you are sharing a apartment/house with somebody. Eveybody there rents out rooms so finding a room would be no problem. I have friends who only 25k and they survive. Just like any other state, there are cheaper areas to live, but not always nice or very safe haha.
