  • Very nice flute playing. What exactly is choro, as opposed to other Brazilian styles?

  • @jazzflutist It's a sort of melodic-centric derivative of samba, greatly popular in the 30s and 40s, before Bossa nova swept the nation (and the world). I recommend Jacob do Bandolim, Pixinguinha, Garoto and, more contemporarily, Hamilton de Holanda.

  • Muito bom.

  • Is that here in UF?

    cause they sound really good.

  • Yay, that's my flute professor!

  • Awesome fluteplaying! Dr. Kristen Stoner can really blow that thing! It sounds fresh en spunky with a brilliant tone and tremendous timing, just like the original recording. This couldn't be played better. Also the lady with the tenorsaxophone is great with the difficult counterpart!

Great posting! greetings from the Netherlands, Jasper van Pelt

  • choooooraaaa jacaré!!!!! Muito bom...

  • No. It's a song from Pixinguinha, called "1 x 0" ( exactly, like in a football game). In case you don't know, Pixinguinha was one of the greatest composers ever.

  • is this an original composition or not?

    either way, great playing

  • @smashingbazil and the arrangement is cribbed from the original, with Benedito Lacerda on flute and Pixinguinha on Tenor.

The playing is great and authentic.
