sorry but this is really hard to learn. your hands are covering the notes you are playing and it would help if u could say what the notes even are. sorry but it really hard. not being mean, just tell u how it could be better
This is a slightly different version to the score I have :/ this seems like it's been made a bit more difficult, and it sounds different to in the film...
@AyaSarhan Depends on how many keys you got. . I think you have to re-arrange one chord on the smaller keyboards, so that you play the Key - one octave higher, then at least the Harmony will stay the same, slightly different feeling - But the melody will fit, for sure! :) Good luck
iv wanted to p[lay this song really bad for years i never really could get the hang of i just cant read complicated notes but i love this song so much
Too bad you missed some notes around 3:35 cuz it's exactly the part where I'm stuck atm thats why I'm searching youtube for help. :( I don't quite get how you explain it to be..
This lesson is definitely harder than Part 1, especially the 14th & 15th bars. Learning the hands separately is relatively easy, but learning and coordinating the hands together is another separate process altogether.
The remaining bars after that seems to be just a matter of "freezing" your right thumb and pinky into position.
I am getting tantalizingly close to putting this part together, though (I am hoping)! Thanks again, Thomas!
Btw, Q: I think I have noticed something about the way the music is played in the movie versus how it is shown and taught on the music sheet. I had a suspicion before but now I am convinced - in the movie this piece is played 1 key higher! Am I correct?
To see for yourself what I am talking about, please listen to this movie clip posted by someone else:

This part is kinda hard. I'm confused with this. I wanted to download the sheet but too bad I can't read notes. I can only read chords. I only taught myself how to play the piano and how to read chords. But not notes.... :(
@bianxter01 I got a video at my channel that people find helpful! "How to read sheets" - Look it up, and you might be on your way to reading sheets soon" :)
Thank you So much Thomas for sharing your talents with us so that we can also learn. This is a great tutorial. With your help I have learned this so fast!! Thank you!
What I did was I mapped the rhythm first for both hands out in 16th notes to paper and then learning to tap that rhythm in eyes closed with any speed first together and then moving back to tapping that with hands separately only. Now I'm working on left hand pattern at 30bpm and working myself up to regular speed. Then right hand and finally both hands.
My method for speed is that I start from 20bpm if there are no errors I up 4bpm and each error lowers 2bpm with 20bpm minimum.
I find extreme difficulty on 13th and 14th measure as the rythm is pretty tricky. I wonder how should I practice this slowly, I keep loosing track of rhythm when training very slowly (<20bpm) , perhaps calculating 12 16th beats could help here..
Not sure really.. But you are on to something, try to find the strong beats, that might help to keep the rhythm!:) .. Also be Very confident hands separate before you put them together will help a lot, unless you where talking about hands separately?!:) .. Cause its hard to concentrate on timing etc of you also have to struggle with the memory.. Also try to don only One and one bar LOTS of times in a row until you are confident, its easier to connect bars than do many bars at a time, perhaps?!:)
Tips; Play SLOWER ;) You have to go VERY slow in the beginning, so slow that you don't make ANY mistakes :) Then after some days, you will just go faster and faster until you are up to speed :) I got a video lesson on the matter, cause this is a major issue for many people :) They dont go slow enough :)
I cant read piano music and ive never taken lessons, but i know part 1 completely now, thanks so much for the tutorial. Literally couldnt be learning it with it :P
Hey in my sheet music the notes I have seem to be different from yours. Right hand: At 2:08, my music says there should be a G# C# and a lower G# chord followed by G# to the lower G# then a chord with G# B# and G#. Then following that where are all the lower G# notes?!? Left Hand: I have the notes (the ones you left out) are B F# D#... not A. Then the following 10 seconds are completely different. What sheet music do you have? Anyway GREAT tutorial! You are so patient it's incredible.
No biggy. The sheet music I have is the one that was from the movie exactly, even the messed up ending (where Victor gets scared). Thanks for responding so fast! And thanks for the sheet music too!
Awesome job, I've seen a lot of tutorials and nobody has taken the time to put all those annotations in. I love the animation and ending to your video playing this piece. I do have a suggestion though: Play s...l...o...w...l...y, you play so quickly that all i learned is that playing hands separately first is much easier than both together. I probably would have done the same though, haha... In the end, five stars!
Hi thomandy ! I do my best because I speak French ;)
I just wanted to say to you a big THANKS because I very love this song and I always wanted to learn it. Now It's summertime, I can put all my energy to learn the piece. Usually, I pieces parts by ear but I found it a bit complex ! ;)
So a big Thank you and you are a very good piano teacher !
Thank you for this! I just started piano 1 month ago (with a strong music background in classic instruments other than piano) and your tutorial really set me off running!!!

hi :) I learn in the moment the Song from you and its verry good what you doing. But on the Time 3:34 i have see you forget the A F# D# !! On 1:14 you play it.

hey, thank you so much, i learned this section through this tutorial and i figured it out today. I think i'm somewhat talented when it comes to listening to music cause i can easily get the rhythm of it. well i'm gonna continue to number 3 thank you :)
Hi. Well, not in its original form. I had a 64key when I started it and I could not play the Lefthand correct. You can try to move it up one octave and see if that works, then you can at least learn it in the right way, and just play one octave lower if you ever play on a real piano somewhere. Try it, It might work :)
Tnx =) Well, Im not sure where you mean. The only tip I got is to practice so slow that you are able to do it perfect every single time, the speed will come on its own. Every time you mess up you have to do it 13 times perfect to forget the messup, so its important to make it as many times as possible, and with to high speed in the beginning, the chance for messups are pretty big! =)
This is a good one too. :) I like the way you show how to play this piece - slowly, step by step. =) I can't wait to see the last, most difficult part! I can't play it yet. Only two staves, lol. :P
And, btw, I wish I could speak English as fluently as you can. =) I'm still getting stuck a bit when I have to say something. :P
the first one was VERY helpful, i got that one down. but this one, i can't follow along./: they're great and all, but i need to know the notes.

Every time you mess up you have to do it 13 times perfect to forget the messup, so its important to make it as many times as possible, and with to high speed in the beginning, the chance for messups are pretty big! =)
