man, screw the demon drives, I was about to buy the demon drives, but with tax it would cost almost $800. I tried out the iron cobras, they were magnificient! and I am only paying $310 for the double pedal iron cobras with the cobra coil! its a steal. the demon drive is all hype.
@Mirozenx It's really all about personal preference. But if you want a powerful feel, the spring tension should be loose. and place the beaters farther away from the head, but not too far to where is hits your feet.
i have some gibraltar shit, not sure what pedals exactly, and i dont much care, but i hate them, they are just awful. Theyre choppy and they grind and squeek, an, just uughhhh, i hate them and i dont have the money for anything new. And i can not play most of the stuff i can usually play at the moment, because, well i dont know why exactly, the left pedal is just being extra gay lately , and it's reallyyyy pissing me off.
HELP! Does anyone know what the original factory settings are for the Iron Cobra: beater angle, footboard angle, cobra coil position, spring tension, and beater height? The footboard angle and beater angle have lines that help you remember and I think factory setting is in the middle for both, but what about the other settings???? Thanks for any help!
@iconoclast123 Well, why not watch this video closely and reset everything. There's a gauge for the vari-pitch pedal angle, set it to mid (the black cap on the left angle.). Then, your cam will be exact for you to set the Beater against the staight Offset. Tension, just keep it low and Cobra coil in the centre. If you want more info, give me yr email. Will be happy to answer.
DUDE ITS VERY COOL TO HAVE THIS PEDAL IRON COBRA COZ I REVERSE THE BEATER HOLDER TO AN OPPOSITE WAY....ITS VERY VERY AWESOME TO USE.... THANKS TO IRON COBRA THIS PEDAL IS THE MOST.....FCKNG AWESOME YOU CAN DEFINE THIS PEDAL AS A PERFECT OUNCE YOU HEAR THE WORD PERFECT PEDAL ITS A TAMA IRON COBRA...........
This is a gearheads pedal. Tight locks, beater balancers, adjustment marks, cobra coils, power glides, rolling glide. What a joke. John Bonham could destroy this pedal with a 40 year old speed king. These guys at Tama have grown up watching too much MacGyver. Thats the reason for all these gimics and tools to adjust every little thing.
@bruthaflo Are you a drummer buddy? The pedal allows customization based on the drummers preferences. Every drummer has their own preferences on the settings of their pedal. Its a very helpful and unique pedal.
Actually, I couldn't heel-toe with this pedal until I made most of the adjustments discussed in this video. Those things are there for a reason, because there's no such thing as a one-size-fits-all-pedal. Even the most utilitarian pedal, like the Trick Pro-1V, has a plethora of adjustable settings. Not everyone bases the utility and validity of their pedal on what "John Bonham could destroy" it with.
for anyone thinking of getting these...... get them.... they are the best pedle on the market. ive used alot of pedles both long bourd and standard and these are the fastest ever. there heavy bourd works with gravity to slam that bassdrum and yet the cobra coil allows you to leave the tension very loose if you like and still will go just as fast with less effort... pluss you can get wood beaters for that patched sound between stick for toms and bass drum
You explain everything perfectly---Its a Great pedal--I like it better than my dw 5000 ad3--which I havent played for awhile now--I use one of these for stage and studio--again great job on explaining everything-
@EternalSolstice Thats right axis are faster.. But axis cost twice as much as Cobras do, and Axis dont hit as hard as Cobras I think.. Btw you heard of that direct drive thing for the cobras? check it out , it sounds pretty cool!
Does the master pedal for the twin ICs have the same feeling as the single IC? My technique on a single pedal still needs polishing, but I've got some extra cash... don't know which to get
Dude... I bought an Iron Cobra Double Powerglide a few years back and it's been pretty awesome. Though when I bought myself two bass drums, I realized there wasn't a known way to but that other hammer (beater) on the "slave" pedal. Thankfully my father can fix anything and he tore some parts off my stock pedal that came with my set, and now I've got two bass drums working. So I just wanted to know if there is indeed a known way to make that happen?
To me these Iron Cobras have a lot of adjustments that arent necessary... like locks and counter-weights etc etc.... I use Peal Eliminators P-2002-c's and they have a lot of adjustments as well but they have purpose... this seems to have to many useless things... don't get me wrong... they're probably very good kicks, I have never used them... but its all a matter of preference really
i've been thinking about gettin the iron cobras but i have a size 13 foot....can anyone help out and let me know if the ic is a good choice with giant feet?
i bought the fucking dmon drive and is the most shitty pedal in the world... i could put my eliminators doing the same job that demon´s. people if you are bying the demon for metal. forget it...is a fucking shit. i´m going to my music store today to replace my demon´s for a iron cobra
@johnpearl3 i don't feel comfortable playing the iron cobra, something to do with the setup, any tips? i might sell it and buy some pearl eliminators, played them before and they were awesome
@Viper668 did you notice when he was talking about the beater balancer he said "I use mine as a memory lock so I know how far in I like to put my beater" haha
@fuckboyronaldinho10 some have reported DW pedals (footboards actually) to snap in half. That's why if I buy a professional pedal I think I'm avoiding DW.
ive oiled everything with wd40 and 3in1 and it still is like always lagging a little. its only on my left slave pedal tho. i guess it might just be wear and tear
I ordered the double pedal Iron cobra 900 PSW Limited Edition 20 minutes ago. My 9 years old Pearl double pedal is about to die...! I think THIS is the best pedal in the world. Great.
I guess it's a matter of opinion because people keep telling me different stuff. Guess I'll buy both, then decide. I'll get the power glide first though. Thanks.
@EternalSolstice ahh okay thanks yeah that helped :) if i'm getting longboards should i go for axis or pearl demondrives? there isn't a shop near enough for me to try them personally so i was just wondering what you think? thanks again for the help :)
i bought my first double bass pedal (pearl p902 £130) a few months ago, and i am thinking about buying some new pedals.. cobras or axis longboards (axis because of my size 12 feet haha) but i was just wondering.... is shelling out big money for pedals really worth it? i'm into metallica lamb of god etc and i'd just like some advice :) any replies would be greatly appreciated
@Strang3Mountain the iron cobras are actually very fast, if you adjsut them right. they are not sluggish, I can go really fast on mine. Very powerful too. I'd recommend the cobras, they feel more natural and fluid than the Axis.
Do you think it's good for fast Gospel Music too?? I need the power and the speed. I'm going to buy one. But I don't understand the main difference between the rolling glide and power glide.
I wanted to make sure. I did research on the tama website but it wasn't helping. Cause it says the power if for a speedy powerful feel. And doesn't the rolling give off more speed??
i just bought an iron cobra double :D, after watching this video i just had too. these are well tidy pedals. and cheers for showing this video, i'll adjust the springs when i get it :D
Take into account the names. Rolling glide is good for double bass rolls, so alot of quick metal drumming. The flexi is a flexible, and (i would say) jazzy pedal. Power glide will give you just that. So it's good for rock and metal depending on the style. Try them out and youll know whats right for you.
Honestly, it doesn't matter really the name. It's all about whatever feels best under your feet. If you like to play metal with the flexi then by all means play blast beats all day. Its all about what feels best.
Wow, I thought the Demon Drives would be one of the best pedals on market at the moment! Obviously not then ;) The Cobra is an extremely good pedal, and good choice about the longboards! :D
My third favourite pedals, just after the Iron Cobra and the Trick Dominator :]
@ToolKid21 although i don't own these or have any experience with them, i could suggest that you keep the drive shaft (connecting rod) completely straight (not at an angle with the main pedal like this: B--------------b) . although your hats will go a little further away, you won't feel that lag. ur comment's 5 months old =XD!!!

i had this for a week now and its just awesome fast and powerful. i use a Remo weatherking powersonic 3 bass head and a double Remo flam slam. I have the Tama Iron Cobra powerglide double bass pedal its alot of money, but its relli worth it it's amazing
mm ok hahaha i mean mm when you first take the pedal out of the box ( when you buy it) and put the speedo ring on and its ready to play like in the video.. what are the markings of the pedal when you put the speedo ring on? like it says on the. video hope you understand haha thnks
But in my view, I should think you could because the Iron Cobra comes with it and anything that comes with something should be able to be removed if the user doesn't like it :]
i think both pedals are better in dif ways...like the dw 9000 is better to me cause its realy light and very smooth and fast, and silent.....but the iron cobra is better with its adjustments for the right feel
I've got the Power Glide Twin Pedals but it only came with one beater balancer and one tight-lock... somebody didn't think that one through all the way...
i recently bought this pedal and i really like the feel of it. however i bought it used and it didnt come with a beater balancer or the drum hammer. is there any way i can buy these parts seperately?
the thing with demon drives is there better than cobras but not £250 better!

What would you recommend for lubricating the pedals when it's necessary?
mangobeat90 2 years ago 3
Thank you :]
Lubricating the pedal.. You could do but that'd wear off eventually
You'd be better off using some sort of oil I'd say :D
EternalSolstice 2 years ago
Hahaha, I apologize for the terrible choice of words then. Figured you "lubricated" with oil, I've done my homework now.
What sort of oil is ideal then, the one you use for the bike chain? My knowledge in these areas are ridicously wage. :)
Thanks again!
mangobeat90 2 years ago
Haha, don't worry man
You may not even need to oil it, unless it starts sqeaking :p
But if you feel the need, try WD40 (which is an oil spray)
Or you can try 3 in 1 Oil which stops sqeaking ;)
Hope that helps :]
And you're welcome by the way ;)

c4m30fl4sh 2 years ago
I don't think so.
You have to adjust them yourself I guess :D
I think that's what you mean? Sorry if I'm not understanding (:
EternalSolstice 2 years ago
no i mean when you first put the speedo ring to start playing like mmm the original adjustements
c4m30fl4sh 2 years ago
excuse me what are the original adjustements and the markings of the iron cobra?? like taken out of the box?
c4m30fl4sh 2 years ago
How'd you mean?
Like an instructions manual?
EternalSolstice 2 years ago
should i get these or the eliminators? cuz i cant decide
danieljordison0793 2 years ago
Well, The Iron Cobra is more powerful but the Eliminators have a faster response.
What style do you play?
EternalSolstice 2 years ago
metal ...
danieljordison0793 2 years ago
Well I would go with the Iron Cobra :]
But it's up to you, The Iron Cobra is definately the prefered pedal
EternalSolstice 2 years ago
thanks i wanst too sure about the cobra coil du u know if i can take off in case i dont like it??
danieljordison0793 2 years ago
I'm not sure on that one dude, sorry
But in my view, I should think you could because the Iron Cobra comes with it and anything that comes with something should be able to be removed if the user doesn't like it :]

whats better iron cobra or dw 9000?
airsoftguitardrum900 2 years ago
Good question
I'd say the Iron Cobra
But I guess it's a personal taste :]
EternalSolstice 2 years ago
i think both pedals are better in dif ways...like the dw 9000 is better to me cause its realy light and very smooth and fast, and silent.....but the iron cobra is better with its adjustments for the right feel

BBD4697 2 years ago

EternalSolstice 2 years ago
i recently bought this pedal and i really like the feel of it. however i bought it used and it didnt come with a beater balancer or the drum hammer. is there any way i can buy these parts seperately?
BBD4697 2 years ago
Did it not? Strange...
Umm, I'm sure you could buy these parts from Tama Dealers or regular online drum shops. I don't have these pedals so I don't really know :/
But try Tama drum dealers online or just browse various online drum shops or any drum shops you know.
Dunno if I helped, but if so. Cool :)
