  • How would the new Sigma 8-16mm compare to this Tokina 11-16 ?

  • dom have you used the tokina 12-24mm f4? im really struggling to decide which is more important to me, the range or the larger apature, any tips would be appreciated.

  • I have been wondering whether to get this one or the sigma 8-16mm for the D7000.

  • @unap16 your struggling with a constant f2.8 vs a 3.5-5.6? no contest really

  • @dombower I am not struggling. Just wondering because Tokina is the faster glass here but Sigma does have a wider field of view. Also if you have tested both how is the Tokina compared to Sigma from 11mm-16mm?

  • With which camera was this taken?

  • @OlliTheAwesomeone the description tells you

  • This is actually a very good solid and heavy lens all metal and is rated better than canon or nikon similar models with 2.8

  • so...is it sharp or whut?

  • bah, I want to get this lens, but there's only ONE in the US that's for sale on eBay. B&H and Adorama are backordered :(

  • I enjoy your video's Dom ! I watched your review of the SB-900, before I bought one. I also just got the 11-16 Tokina and love it. Unless you have unlimited resources,Tokina is the WA of choice. It's my only non Nikon lens.

God Bless you and have a very Merry Christmas. :)

  • I use a lot of third party lenses too. The build quality might not be as good, but optically, they're just as good if not better than Nikon or Cannon lenses. Unless I'm getting paid big big bucks for my work, I'll stick with the cheaper lenses for now....they rock.

  • @BustedShutter

The build quality on these Tokina lenses is actually better than anything Nikon or Canon has in the price range.

  • oh hate to burst your bubble there but this lens has been rated, reviewed and researched and has been found to be a lot better than nikon or canon similars.

  • @dombower

thats what they always say:) untill you really start to get a bit more expensive stuff.

of course there are some exceptions along the road.

  • @magix93 (jackass)

For a crop sensor camera this is the BEST ultra wide zoom. Its has been proven time and time again. You can't really compare it too $1600+ wide glass intended for full frame cameras (even though the image quality is almost just as good) because they serve entirely different purposes. Please spare us from any more of your juvenile brand whore comments.

  • @dombower This lens better than Nikon 14-24 f2.8, uhm, no....I've tried that Nikon 14-24 and it is way better than this one, but the only con is that it doesn't accept filters, except Lee's

  • @FinlandApollo And costs way more. And wont be near as wide on a crop sensor.

  • @jmstew0319 True, but it isn't the fault of the lens that it isn't so wide.

  • @FinlandApollo but they are cons like what jmstew0319 mentioned before. I have used the Nikon 14-24 and it beats this lens hands down but as mentioned, on a cropped sensor this is one of the best

  • @dombower Well, thats true. If you don't want the heavy but very sharp beast with huge front element...Get this lens, this is the best option to nikon after the 14-24.

  • @magix93: You are an idiot. Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 is among the sharpest of all Wide Angle Zooms.

  • Sweet.

  • What's the name of the song?

  • Artist: Electric Six

    Song: Im The Bomb

  • dude, I told you before, use camtasia studio to record your screen.

  • @jan1024188 There was nothing wrong with this video.. Don't like, Don't watch.

  • plenty sharp enough that Dom. Wide angle will be my next lens purchase so i will add the tokina lens to the short list.
