i remember seeing this around my way in sutter ave/rutland road on the 3 train line in brooklyn.i was shocked when i saw the redbird back and then when i saw da garbage train i was like ahhhhhhh!!!!!!!! why cant they just bring these redbirds back for the public?
In case you dont know redbirds run on the garbage run almost everynight you just have to catch it from 11-1 am or they run at the same time but with a gel train so NOT all RedBirds are gone they have about 8 sets of redbirds at Uniport yard that's been there since probably late 2002 and they have redbirds in Jerome and Corona yards hope this helps =)
i miss the old days old trains old wrestling and old everything until now and then everything is mess up in new york the best trains removed off the rail and alot of bad news on the news report
@lala149 I miss the old days also. Everything in New York City is messed up right now. Instead of rebuilding the Twin Towers they are building the ugly Freedom Tower that everybody hates. The New York skyline will look ugly and it will be a national embarrassment. I miss the Redbird trains and miss everything the way it was before 9/11.
All the scrap trains that wound up in the Atlantic Ocean were in better condition when they met their fate then they were in the 1970's and 1980's. As for the redbird garbage train? They kept a couple dozen
redbird cars. They will never run for passengers, but you will see them late night on the garbage train.

the only system to have a 'freight' motor program.
here in chicago we had a milwaukee road freight motor program running to the southwest side, but it was canceled in like 1958

You almost wish you could ride the train...
but then you see the trash trucks.
