Besides that mini chapter has some of the most dramatic and inspiring speech in the series. Pacce is a great writer of both clop and drama. Much better than most I know of.

Finished reading Fallout Equestria today with the final update (10 years later).
The end had me tear up a little, because this story had me actually caring about it. Caring about the characters, both in the past, and the present. It had me fearing for the future of the Equestria, thinking that the end couldn't possibly end well for those in it. While I will admit, the end was not truly a happy ending, it was a really good ending.
In my opinion, Lil'Pip is right up there with the Mane 6.

I'd have to disagree. I'm replaying through Fallout 3 now, and the story has done amazing things blending in elements of the original whilst still remain it's own distinct narrative. That being said, I respect your opinion to not like the stories, it's not for everyone.

In my opinion it is an amazing story, that combines elements of the MLP and Fallout universes together greatly, without becoming a copy of the game's storyline. When I play Fallout these days, I can't help but think of FOE.

Actually I don't think it's weak vocally at all. If this vocal style was put in any other song, it would sound horribly out of place, sure. But it is -perfect- for this song and this style.
My only criticism is that the verses are too short. To me it would be cool if you had maybe Two more verses with more of the same feeling. I love love love the chorus. And just like everypony else, I find myself singing along at the top of my lungs and feeling all the passion and sorrow that must be flooding Lil Pip's heart on her journy. I really hope you decide to do more songs about this story.

@EdouardDubois Very well, in fact. ;) This is a truly amazing fic. It manages to mingle the two sources without making it feel like either "Fallout crammed into Equestria" or "ponies get dumped into Fallout".
In my opinion, the childish cheer of FiM greatly intensifies the sense of shock and horror over how far we've fallen. I certainly got misty at the first view of the Wasteland, and it really helped me empathize with Littlepip coming out of her sheltered life in the Stable.
I started reading Fallout: Equestria a couple days ago, I'm at chapter 21 now, and sweet mercy is it a good read! I've had more differing feelings while reading this than I can remember. The author really knows how to write a story.
Your song captured Lil' Pips personality perfectly.
This is a great representation of the Fallout: Equestria universe. It has a very melancholy feel, the lyrics speak of struggle, perseverance and overwhelming odds. It captures littlepips struggle with great accuracy, guitar, drums and lyrical genius all comes together like a great apple pie.
@kiter1surf2 I disagree. The vocals may not be stellar but they are more than acceptable, and above all, FITTING. Ain't the voice of Velvet Remedy but... Lil Pip would sing it like that if she was male.
This excites me. I'm going to listen to your stuff in the morning when I can play it loud enough to hear your singing and judge it then. Fallout Equestria is my favorite fic so far. I love the audiobook version done by Scorch238.
So, the story can be grim at times. If you only normally ready happy ship-fics, don't go there gi'friend. That being said, I've found the story deep, captivating and very well written. It's adventure based, so there is always forward moving. That being said, characters go through big sections of growth, and the whole MLP:FIM mythos is well integrated into the Fallout Mythos without really precluding people who aren't fans of either. Also, Lil Pip is the biggest anti-Mary-Sue ever.

@NeedsMoreDjent Yeah, I totally feel for lil Pip at every turn of the story. I think I felt the most joy for her when Homage basically told her that she was interested in a relationship with her. Up until that point I always had this horrible heart ache for her having to watch the mare she loved moving farther and farther into the embrace of her best friend.
@lankygit101 Let me give you an idea: The story has three layers of struggle. First, the easiest: deadly skirmishes, near-mortal wounds, lethal danger. Second, more dire: Politics, powers that can destroy any chance of the wasteland to ever recover, our heroes facing whole armies capable of wiping out cities. And the third, worst, a battle of soul. The struggle demands compromises. As the story progresses, the line that separates LilPip from monsters she fights gets very, very thin.
like Kkatman said; thanks for making this. it's beautiful to listen to. i listen to alot of music in the background while i do other things on the computer, but this is so... moving, and attention grabbing, that i have to sit still, close my eyes, and just take in everything.
My biggest complaint is your volume in the music fluxes so badly between the chorus and other parts I am constantly having to work the volume knob to hear the words and then push it down to keep form blowing my ears out on the chorus.
Even if you detach it from MLP and FO:E, or just fallout in general, it makes a good song for anyone trying to escape an old life, or who has left a life behind.
It's not bad at all, but . . . I don't know, it just seems a bit too modern. Like it doesn't fit at all in a Fallout setting. If the instrumental was changed to something like they ad back in the 1940s and 1950s that would greatly improve the song.
I didn't really want the song to fit into the 40s-50s era as much as express Lil Pip's anguish. If I were to do Velvet Remedy, it's probably be loaded with swing and muted trumpets :P
Beyond that, I'm a metal guitarist + screamer, so trying to write 50's era music would have been a disaster, and no one would have enjoyed it :D
I kind of pictured a more gentle melody but amazing none the less. By far my favorite anything I have ever read and I constantly picture it in animated form when I read it. Great job once again

No, thank you mate. Whenever a new chapter of F:E is posted on EqD I drop what I'm doing to read it. The story is truly amazing, and I've gotten so much joy from reading it (I started sometime around ch12). This is a great representation of the Fallout: Equestria universe. It has a very melancholy feel, the lyrics speak of struggle, perseverance and overwhelming odds. It captures littlepips struggle with great accuracy, guitar, drums and lyrical genius all comes together like a great apple pie.

I know its long, but is it actually that good?
I'd like to try and read it, but if its actually not quite what it's cracked up to be I'd like to know before I try and tackle its mammoth size.

So, the story can be grim at times. If you only normally ready happy ship-fics, don't go there gi'friend. That being said, I've found the story deep, captivating and very well written. It's adventure based, so there is always forward moving. That being said, characters go through big sections of growth, and the whole MLP:FIM mythos is well integrated into the Fallout Mythos without really precluding people who aren't fans of either. Also, Lil Pip is the biggest anti-Mary-Sue ever.

@NeedsMoreDjent Yeah, I totally feel for lil Pip at every turn of the story. I think I felt the most joy for her when Homage basically told her that she was interested in a relationship with her. Up until that point I always had this horrible heart ache for her having to watch the mare she loved moving farther and farther into the embrace of her best friend.

@lankygit101 Let me give you an idea: The story has three layers of struggle. First, the easiest: deadly skirmishes, near-mortal wounds, lethal danger. Second, more dire: Politics, powers that can destroy any chance of the wasteland to ever recover, our heroes facing whole armies capable of wiping out cities. And the third, worst, a battle of soul. The struggle demands compromises. As the story progresses, the line that separates LilPip from monsters she fights gets very, very thin.

My biggest complaint is your volume in the music fluxes so badly between the chorus and other parts I am constantly having to work the volume knob to hear the words and then push it down to keep form blowing my ears out on the chorus.

It's not bad at all, but . . . I don't know, it just seems a bit too modern. Like it doesn't fit at all in a Fallout setting. If the instrumental was changed to something like they ad back in the 1940s and 1950s that would greatly improve the song.

I didn't really want the song to fit into the 40s-50s era as much as express Lil Pip's anguish. If I were to do Velvet Remedy, it's probably be loaded with swing and muted trumpets :P
Beyond that, I'm a metal guitarist + screamer, so trying to write 50's era music would have been a disaster, and no one would have enjoyed it :D

No, thank you mate. Whenever a new chapter of F:E is posted on EqD I drop what I'm doing to read it. The story is truly amazing, and I've gotten so much joy from reading it (I started sometime around ch12). Just so you know, I was planning to do a companion piece called Homage but considering the positive feedback I've gotten so far, I may try and expand the idea further.
