  • Meanwhile, everyone on the beach are like: "Look! A plane is coming this way! Let's all stand in it's path by expirencing the possibility of having our own arm ligaments and bones getting broken apon impact!" XD

*Ahem* In other words, nice to see a different viewpoint of the landing. :)

  • Very professional. And a very good explanation in the description, sir, but useless for keyboard warriors.

  • beautiful approach

  • ALL electronic devices should be in the OFF position

  • Nice landing....that's gotta be a tricky approach with the fence, vehicles, and people right there...

  • my that was such a perfect landing. I am seriously thinking of doing a KLM flight from Amsterdam to St. Maarten next Thursday on Flight Simulator X.

  • I would like to see people nagging without knowing the planes weight and settings, weather conditions, without a reading of the instruments and after all without a feeling what the plane does during landing... ;)

  • Can u please give me a description on flying I'm in 8th grade and i want to fly an plane some day

  • @SuredT omg r u really a pilot? Pls giv me some tips on what I can do to b one. I'm in 10th grade rite now bt my dream is to fly..pls can u tell me what I can start doing to achieve my goal frm now on?

  • Nice Landing....BTW your a Pilot on a B74 hauling to St. Maarten, I wouldnt even justify answering people who question your landing. This isnt Flight Simulator

  • If i go to St.Maarten,it will be ONLY because of the landings.... :)

  • Me To

  • I'd do anything to be a pilot, even work for minimum wage! anyone want to train me? :P

  • are you a pilot by klm?

  • WOW.....fantastic explanation!!! Keep posting your awesome Videos, I'm a Fan :)

  • I play fsx and i would be scared shitless if i ever had to do this for real...props to the pilots...you guys rock!

  • Very well explained Captain! Being a pilot in real life is way different than the one in a game. And the 180 on the runway, Priceless!

  • Follow up to my last comment. It appears the stall speed of a 747 with full flaps and gear down is 115 kts. So technically it's possible, but risky...

  • @athox still depends on the weight..

  • You can go a bit slower than 280 kph with full flaps though, right?

  • nice video. I also want to become a b747 or a380 pilot. How is it to be a pilot and fly the 747:)

  • Well done cap I love wen u guys touch down here u make ur airline and plane THE main attraction at St Maarten, Maho beach every time I go

  • excellent video and a great explanation of the approach captain

  • Awsome..! i am a girl and i love planes and i fly the too (fs2004/fsx) wanna become a pilot...

  • Ace :)

  • As much as that landing was impressive, that 180 degree turn is pretty damn impressive too.

  • 183 disliked it because they will never become a pilot in real life

  • What is the registration number?

  • @Lekoman Hey dipshit. No one here said that as FSX simulation pilots we are more qualified than those who fly the real airplane. So why don't you go home and play with your little sister scumbag. As for those of us who use FSX, let us do what we do, some of us do not have the money to obtain the extensive and expansive training for such a career. Even if you are a real pilot, which I doubt, I think I speak for everyone here when I tell you to shut your fucking mouth because no one cares.

  • Great explanation - thanks for writing such a detailed intro.

Why, though, is it ok for a pilot to use a video camera sitting right on top of all the electronic instruments at the most critical point in the flight, when all passengers need to turn off all of their electronic devices?

Do pilots leave their mobile phones on?

If it really were necessary for safety that mobile phones be turned off then allow me to let pilots in on something - most people leave their phones on.

  • @bungeecork I'm not sure about airliners but electronic devices do absolutely nothing to F-18s. I know quite a few people in my squadron that record their launches and traps (although technically it's against the rules).

  • beautiful video! ... it's a pity you guys don't hear us clapping back in the cabin!

The AMS-SXM-CUR route is the only time when people are so happy and thankful after a 8hr flight that we immediately start cheering and clapping!

I tried that on the SXM-NYC route and only one other person clapped with me :(.. ungrateful people..

  • Lol, how do you record this? Were you the pilot of this plane?

  • very nice landing!! I love TNCM!!

  • You're a master.

  • On google maps the runway shows as runway 10 instead of 9 as it is here

  • Comment removed

  • NICE!

  • Rediculous that a (the) pilot has to explain himself to some know-it-all flightsimmers. Regardless, I'm real glad he did - there's some great info from that explanation.

One thing I'd like to know. There was a KLM 747 that almost touched the fence with his mlg. Was the pilot in trouble after that? Was there a reason?

  • 183 justin bieber fãns

  • Is it commercial or freighter?

  • @vmalmfreddan commercial

  • I will never fathom how you can get paid more for running with a ball than pulling off something like this without incident day in and day out.

  • @marcphilos . . . the human chimp cannot tell a hole on the ground from the hole in their behind. :(

  • Hey, great video & whats the average amount of people that usually fly on the 747 to St Maartens? Thanks !

  • really enjoy the small rudder correction before touching down!

  • wow, why do so many 747 and other large planes fly into such a little island....... the one in the carribean correct?

  • @pike98765432 lol.. really?.. how about vacation? how about students in france and holland who are coming back home for some reason... how about it's an INTERNATIONAL airport :)

  • IF you RED the description of this, you will not be a troll, dumbasses who play FSX too much !!!!!!

  • @hadabenz There is no problem if you play FSX "too much". You can't play FSX too much anyway because it is a simulation game- you can play on it for as long as you, want, and I think you should rethink that stupid comment. The first bit was alright, but saying that they play FSX too much is dumb.

  • good stuff ive only flown the simulator but i could tell that runway was short

  • I love these professionals who do their jobs so well.

  • Fantastic stuff, thanks for sharing..

  • I can just about see its little blue nose!!!

  • it's funny that people sometimes think they actually know what they are talking about ;)

  • Do a barrel roll!

  • @KautsarRz I bet you didn't read title.

  • @skillerboy3 what's your point? bisa komen doang banci masalah?

  • @KautsarRz The point, stupid bro, si that you say ''I bet this is klm 747''. But the title says it all. KLM Boeing B747-400 Landing St. Maarten Cockpit view

  • Don't know who is complaining, enjoyed the video - keep posting some landings!

  • Comment removed

  • @KautsarRz No, shit, Sherlock. What tipped you off??? The title of the video being "KLM Boeing 747-400" or the endless references of a KLM 744?

  • @Neno8403 slo-_- gw hanya nulis elah, masalah? salah gitu ya gw nulis? ikh such a dumbass

  • komliment to the pilot

  • @donvit2 I mean the approach altitude...

  • I think you've landed the aircraft at just the right speed and the right altitude. Perfect landing!!!

  • @JeremyB787 the right altitude being...0?

  • OH MY FCKN DUDE!!! WHERE THE HECK HAD U PLACE THE CAMERA??? :D

  • nice landing

  • where's this, hawaii?

  • @StPetesYTSMemptyA320 eehhhmmm.... St. Maarten???? lol. It's an island in the caribbean but americans mostly call it saint martin

  • @luukdeman111 I it's hawaii. i decided

  • @redousex Een beetje naar links, I think, is how it's spelt.

  • That is like a freight train stopping, you could vaporize an egg on those discs.

  • Lololol at the people who think this is a game. Great job done by the pilots. I fly a Pip Seneca, not that big but it's a start. Hope to see more videos coming.

  • Nice view

  • this game has really good graphics

  • Hey I've flown this approach in Flight Simulator!

  • Loved it. I will play this tonight on FSX ;p

  • Now that's what I call a back track!

  • Wow, thanks for the AWESOME explanation in the description! I guess the FSX people figure they're more qualified than the pilots who fly the real thing, huh? ;)

  • @lekoman haha they do :p very funny isn't it

  • @lekoman I'd like to just chime in here and say "No, not all". Maybe enjoy my channel for some professional SIMULATED videos within PMDG/FSX but from as real a world perspective as possible - as explained in my channel. However, yes, I agree; armchair pilots are a pain in the behind.

  • Enormous! Very Short!

  • things to remember from this video: pitch controls airspeed, power controls rate of descent.

  • @clarity18. That is true for a light prop plane. In a Jet it is the other way around. Pitch is rate of descent, power is speed.

  • @SuredT Not all jets. Approaches to the boat in naval aircraft are primarily done with throttle inputs - more power for lower descent rate and less power for higher descent rate.

  • @SuredT I don't get the sense of your claim.

If you're high ------> lower pitch/trim and decrease throttle

If you're low --------> higher pitch/trim and increase throttle.

Well, which if the two controls the speed and which the ROD?

Well, it depends on the point of view. Both do both things!

  • @SuredT to change the rate of descent without chaning speed, you have to adjust both pitch and throttle. So, what is the point?

  • SEE FROM THE COCKPIT IT DOES NOT LOOK VERY MUCH DIFFERENT.

THIS IS ONE OF THE WORST AIRPORT IN THE WORLD AND THE LANDING REQUIRED THE WHOLE LENGTH OF THE AIRSTRIP.

AND THEN 180 DEGREE TURN AND TAXI DOWN THE RUNWAY.

    HAVEN'T THEY LEARN THE LESSON?

  • @CoralPumps Listen, this airport was built YEARS ago, when big planes were a fantasy. This airport only accepted the usual small planes that were around the time. The airport gained a lot of attention and bigger and bigger planes arrived. It is not like they built this airport for big planes like 50 years ago did they?

  • @RainfulPhenix i agree with your point however why does the runway meet requirements of a 747 if it was built 50 years ago.

  • people hang onto that fence dividing the beach and airport for thrill because when the planes go down to land they put ALOT of force on those fencing so its like a rollercoaster

  • Great video. I enjoyed it. No comments about the landing being anything other than a landing. I don't fly real aircraft like you do.Don't pay any attention to the people on here, half of them crash on their landings on flight sim and cant possibly know what its like in real life.

  • were is st.maarten?

  • i went there on my cruise in 2011 no 747 though :(

  • @ADuckOnQuack97

It was removed. It doesnt fly to TNCM anymore :(

  • I Love this Airport an this Beach !

  • when i downloaded FSX demo why was it this airport lol

  • One of the awesomest clips on Youtube!

  • o melhor que eu ja vii

  • why is everybody hating just enjoy the fucking video... haters.

  • @Nikedude109 - the video is great, it's just that there are a lot of dickheads on here who think they know a lot. What they comment takes seconds to check and usually prove them wrong. They shouldn't be allowed to comment like the idiot who reckons you never hear of KLM, AirFrance and Lufthansa crashes, what a cunt he is!

  • @Cyberwwwizard Yep KLM crashes Lufthansa got hijacked and Airfrance Crashed dumbasses the world isnt perfect!

  • @Nikedude109 southwest is lol

  • why did you bother to answer some silly questions for idiots who think they know more then you about flying. 20 years experience and people think they know more then you, idiots i tells ye!

  • Any pilot that lands a 747 in this little island is a hero and they have huge balls.

  • Looks like the pilot flying used a lot of runway before touching down...

  • @ptroinks That's just the length of the aircraft and the height of the cockpit above the ground. The mains are far behind the cockpit of the 747, hence the illusion of a late touchdown.

  • @ptroinks but he isnt actually

  • fucking boring with videos from games

  • @smugglerking This isn't a game...

  • @smugglerking lol this video is reality

  • @smugglerking this is reaL u dumb fuck

  • That looks quite low.

  • Comment removed

  • @peternesbitt

I didn't know minimums had anything to do with airspeed. I thought that it was the decision height. Please correct me if I am wrong.

  • @peternesbitt minimums has to do with altitude, not airspeed.

  • Opps captain

  • Very nice landing captian

  • HOW DID YOU GET INTO THE COCKPIT?( PLEASE REPLY)

  • @ioannis21shum Joke right?

  • @Rislundman I didn't know he was a captain when I wrote this comment ;)

  • @ioannis21shum maybe hes the pilot duh....

  • @ioannis21shum He works there.

  • That was fantastic. Going to have to watch that again.

  • GREAT P.I.C.. SALUTE TO PILOT. ONEC AGAIN.

  • Beautiful !

  • look at the people standing below

  • figo

  • figo

  • Awesome video!! nice.....

  • I'd love to ride the fence at st maarten.

  • 178 people don't know that keeping your phone switched on in flight is not dangerous

  • @SheledUmlal Lol... Shut up..

  • They should take umbreallas and jump in the air during the jet blast/Takeoffs

  • Have you ever crashed?

  • @hsguitarist - you're repeating yourself, goodbye loser!

  • @Cyberwwwizard ignorant

  • 178 people hoped they would see porn?

  • 178 people don't know princess juliana intl.

  • @FSXTim90403 yah thats really nice place.

  • @enemykill3 yah :D

  • @FSXTim90403 now 183

  • @DanTheCaptain XD Yea, very stupid people !

  • @FSXTim90403 or probably they will never get the chance to see princess juliana intl

  • @mak223 yea XD

  • Mooie video! Jammer dat er geen nieuwe meer komen en hieronder wordt "gechat"

  • i could see the people on the beach before the plane landed. Now they can see what the pilot sees when he lands. A lot of mindless humans standing in the way of the plane.

  • @hsguitarist - ignorance? That only comes from arseholes who live in the continent of south america.

  • @Cyberwwwizard shitty IGNORANT.. id rather be a latin american than talk shit i dont know..

  • @Cyberwwwizard man get a life, job and a wife,'' that only comes from arseholes who live in the continent of south america''.

Man you are a dumb ass racist that need a dick.

  • @natofsx8 - thanks, but who needs a dick when you're around?

  • @Cyberwwwizard to much bla bla bla for you,i beat you have 10 and gay, only it

  • In my country you are more likely going to be in a train-accident than in a plane accident.

  • I wanna be a pilot!

  • dose that airport in real life really have u land on runway 27? i play fsx and it seems like i land on 27 alot more than 9 im just wondering if so landing on 27 whats a good approce?

  • @illstandbyyou In reality, no planes land on 27 because of what would be an extremely steep approach. It is too dangerous. In FSX, ATC decides what runway you will land on depending on the wind. If you have the wind set so you are landing into the wind on 27, then it will have you land on 27. Try setting the wind so it comes in from over the hills. This will give you the real approach.

  • Do you actually fly the plane

  • When you sit in the cockpit it is higher above the ground, than you state on the ground and looking to the plane :D Than is it to close!!

haha that discription, stupid people :$

  • How did you get in the cockpit?

  • "MINIMUMS" I love that Guy.

  • i'd rather sim it

  • your better than me although im a co-pilot

  • got to go a long way to beat tiffanys video

  • dude your videos are just super interesting ! Keep going on !!! thumb up !

  • Great landing!!!

  • You seemed a little high for my likings over the beach, whenever I come in, I'm usually straight down as soon as I can at Julianna, Simply because it's such a short runway. But anyway, you fly 747's. I do 757's . Amazing smooth landing, though!

  • @666megadeth666m 767's* Sorry, typo.

  • Respect the KLM pilots. I've noticed a few pilots deliberately fly down low on final for the entertainment of thrill seekers.

  • looks like im playing just cause 2

  • nice.... appreciate the flying lesson too! far more elaborate then the simple "you go land the plane then wiseguy" response to the haters out there i'd have been bothered to do lol...

  • amazing good

  • i dont think this airport does planes very good, the amount of braking etc means alot of repairs and checks

  • Thanks for sharing the experience!

  • Seems you came thru some precip on your approach.
