  • I got my 1969 from a guitar shop back in 1987 for 1,900 bucks.

  • Hi , awesome your guitar, i have one question , i have one les paul custom 1978. the guitar is original and everything is okey onlyyyy at the name gibson the ( i ) is without the point above the letter i , is normal that ???

  • @vitachisfc yeah my custom doesn't have the dot above the i either

  • where would i get parts for this my dad got one and i wanna restore it

  • @greazylife

    Ebay

  • that tone is beastly! Mucho-Jealous haha

I'd love to just be able to play all these amps and guitars all day, no need to eat and sleep, you're living the dream!

  • look at the size of those frets. is it just me or are they big?

  • Ill buy this too!!

  • great playing Greg! I have 1 question... To get a clean sound, did u just lower the volume on the guitar? And what pickups are in this guitar? I have a 1974 les paul custom Black Beauty, so do u think that they both sound the same? Thanks.

  • it may just be me but are the headstock a bit slimmer and longer then a "todays" custom?

  • @JackManDemand possibly just a little, but i think this video is horizontally stretched a fair bit making the whole guitar look a bit narrower than it should be.

  • a good guitar and a decent amp in the right hands will give you rewards

have you heard anything below par from greg whatever instrument or amp combo ....no

    i rest my case

  • these guitars wouldnt be so great for metalcore would they?

  • gregor are those pickups hot? they sound incredible.

what's your take on alnico 2 vs alnico 5 in humbuckers?

  • Blimey a 69 custom will go for 4 to 5 grand easy and the dumble maybe £50.000 if you can find one!!!

  • you are rich

  • is it the amp that makes the effect?

  • From what city in Denmark are you are? I would like to have that good teacher!!! You play with a lot of feelings and you bend really good, good style!

  • WOW!! that makes my new Lp custom look like a toy, What would you say is your all time favourite guitar(s) Greg?

  • Is it me or does that headstock look really narrow?

  • lets here some crazy train from that bad boy

  • Gotta love vintage les pauls they are truly amazing both tone and feel wise

  • Nice guitar. Is it a refret? Those frets look really damn big

  • Beautiful guitar, beautiful playing. I had a '68 just like that. Used to love playing Stones songs on it. Cheers.

  • dude holy shit. how much did the dumble cost you????

  • I've the same Les paul model...and i'm so happy about this :-)

  • Are all of these guitars yours ?

  • how does one can learn to play like this, or anyway other than memorizing Chords, or looking at Tabs ?

  • I have the same sweatshirt!

  • GREAT jazz sound...

  • metal is only stupid if you think its stupid =/ everyone has different tastes people may think this video is stupid some people dont everyone is different and every genre takes skill playing guitar takes skill XP

  • is expensive?

  • a match made in heaven. that style that amp and that guitar

  • @GregsGuitars wow, nice

  • wow, is this an original?

  • what amp is that? great plying as always,

    Mitch

  • is it me or does this lp have larger than usual frets?

  • @signinname41 probably refret but could be the 69 had larger frets than a 50's era custom

  • o how i wish i had enough money ='(

  • a piece of music history when it s not in use should be in a museum.well played mate!

  • Beautiful style, beautiful guitar.

  • should i get the gibson les paul custom with goldtop or a gibson les paul studio silverburst

  • is the custom better than a goldtop vos or reissue?

  • all les paul customs should have neck-through construction.

  • Forget the guitar, I want that amp!!!!!

  • this guitar is so perfect

  • Nice job!

  • i wont this Guitar

  • I had owned the same except it was had the fretless wonder type frets, not very good frets the guitar was great!

  • I love you...

  • i imagine these pickups are either PAF;s or T tops. which ones?

  • oh man I would never sell the guitar!

  • Okay. Thanks for the reply.

  • greg, i would like to see you play some actual rhythm sections in your guitar videos. play some songs?

  • what are your tone settings?? i really like that sound

  • I have adjusted the volume knobs only - the tone pots are on 10

  • that guitar has a great tone but I'm not sure if it would fit my playing style.

however you sure do sound great on it. Nice playing

  • Great tone and smooth playing! Keep up the good work.

  • really great playing

  • cool

  • ill but that guitar for 12,000 bucks man.

  • shit... that's lot!! But these guitars are great!!

  • si

    al ke sea definitivamente

    tienes una?

    kieres mi culoo?

  • Se me cae la baba con los guitarrones the Greg.

  • doy el culo por una de esas!!

  • el culo? para el guitarrista?

  • got that sound is so smoothe and sweet

  • o yes you are correct sir, the guitar is fine ass hell too

  • ok i love your guitar..but have i dumble overdrive OMG ::D:D:D:D haha awesome:D:D:D

  • Sweet Tone... there's nothing like an LP. I have an '82 custom that I will take with me to the grave...

  • thats the type of playing i wish i heard everytime I go to a guitar shop. instead of what you get..lol.

  • WHAT? that's all they play at guitar shops the same

blues riffs over and over and over and over...

  • luckier than me then..I just hear eruption or that aweful guns and roses lick or someone doing a hammer on and a bend thats out of tune. lol.

  • Haven't found that shop yet.

  • yeah, dude..he's right...no one plays like that in guitar shops,,,all these idiots get like a b.c. rich and a stupid line 6 amp and just play really gay metal shit

  • i know what u mean, i mean like guys who work there, plus theres lots of ppl who rip eachother off, too

  • @qzguitar Line 6 SUCKS! i agree. all it is is a computer generated sound made to copy marshall, mesa, randall, fender, and peavey. I know all manufactures copied at some point but with as long as line 6 has been around, you'd think they would make their own sound and not copy others.

And B.C. rich's suck! people buy them because they think it looks metal. If you cant play real metal whats the point of trying to "look metal"? and all B.C. Rich is good for is looking gay. Like GLAM

  • @qzguitar Screw you, playing metal takes skill, something you might not have!

  • @DANNYROCK97 yeah it takes skill.

but most metal players forget to put any feeling in their solos

    it's fast.

thats why i'm not so into metal

  • @qzguitar ughh Its sounds even worse when they turn up the gain and treble all the way where it sounds all scratchy and then they start with the power chords lol ughh

  • @qzguitar I'm an alternative-metal/nu-metal guitarist, and the Gibson is my primary instrument. B.C Rich doesn't have shit on Gibson.

  • @TechVideos2566 FUCK B.C RICH

  • @qzguitar I fucking hate line 6. They ruin the tone of any guitar.

  • @qzguitar I work in a music shop, and you have no idea how many people come in and do that. I hate when they come, and I'm glad when they leave

  • @qzguitar Lol at the guitar center I go to not many people play much heavy metal they are mostly playing this blues stuff or some country music...

  • @StickArenaProzDude it's a good mix where i live. guilty as charged, i'm usually that guy who does the blues noodling through the expensive tube amps... needless to say those line 6 spider insane channel guys know better than to get into a volume war with the guy using the 100 watt hiwatt with the 4x12 cab :P

  • @Blompcube

So one day this metal guy about my age playing this Ibanez with a line 6 was playing too loud, so I got a peavey amp next to him, plugged in a (killer) Music Man Albert Lee HH and started copying his licks obnoxiously and at a much higher volume. His dad was right there, barely keeping himself from rolling on the floor laughing, he knew what was up. I guess dude knew what I was doing, as he left the store, he told me, "Nice playing dude".

    Now THAT was fun

  • @StickArenaProzDude LOL exactly. I go there playing hard rock, stoner rock stuff and also play some New Wave of british metal and thrash metal. The type of metal I hear from the people that play in guitar center is some grimy sounding rubbish shit, like grindcore.

  • @qzguitar Yupp. All the REAL players don't have to go to a guitar store and show off like a jackass to prove themselves.

  • @qzguitar Its not even like 80s Iron Maiden type metal stuff they play. They play shitty metal stuff. There is great metal and shit metal don't get it mixed up.

  • Yes! this is what a gibson custom sounds like :) and a great player ofcourse not like those other gibson custom vids here on youtube :(

  • hermosa guitarra!!

  • great playing and tone, pure class. Congrats!

  • These finishes really stand out when you take off the pickguard.

  • Comment removed

  • but you can put other pickups in it..

  • i had one of these but i sold it to me it sounded far too bright.

  • white would take less work to care for cosemetically..black attracts dust like hell

  • im gonna get a custom soon

should i get in black or white?

    i really dont know

  • go black!!!!

  • A nice alpine white LP Custom would be a great addition to your collection.

  • I had a Wine Red Custom for a while. Looked nice, but it didn't take long before I yearned for the ebony. The same would have happened if I chose white. You may be different, but ebony would be my choice.

  • that was my choice ebony ^^

  • most people forget the les paul was a jazz or blues guitar.

    you gave it justice!

  • thats true, but its so versatile it can do just about everything.

  • you just gotta know how to work the LP's magic. In a tards hand, it can sound like shiate, but in someone goods hands, it can really sing.

  • i completely agree wth that statement 110%

i walked into an adults open mic blues jam thing at a local restaurant one summer night and got laughed at by a guy when he saw me take out my gibson les paul, probably stopped aughing when he heard me play it

  • @sonilink2 Mate, the Les Paul is the ultimate guitar! It can play everything! And yes it is perfect for jazz and blues as it is perfect for rock and metal!

  • i mean no doubt in my mind that this is the finest guitar made today but how do they justify the fucking price afew years ago it used to be £1500 then it went to £1800 then gibsons custom shop started making it and it went to £2000 now it jumped again to£2500 for a fucking guitar!!!

  • If you compare rates of inflation with the American dollar, the Les Paul has remained almost the same price since it's inception.

  • bugger. I can only afford a freakin epiphone les paul studio.

  • dude to tell u the truth i had an epiphone as a first electric guitar my next was a gibson les paul classic custom, and i think the epiphone was pretty close i mean sound wise. the bid difference is quality. keep the epiphone rockin and it will sound good trust me

  • that's true. keep the guitar rockin' and rollin'. in fact it's you who play it, guitar won't play itself.

  • yep yep yep straight up lol, im not gonna lie i do like my gibson lol

  • Save up for some nice pickups like Fralin or Peter Florance, take a high speed automobile buffer to the fret board, roll the edges, and it'll play and sound like a million. Check out what stephens design pickups does, he puts killer pickups in cheapo guitars, sound great.

  • Gleat tone!!!!!!!

  • i bought this guitar of a man in 79 and still own it

  • so the les paul customs only have 2 neck styles, slim and 50s?

  • oh snap! is that a real Dumble!

  • Very nice playing! You really have a feel for it.

  • sound so sweet!!

  • Nice guitar. I still have my 69 I got when I was 14 and it will 40 years old next year.

  • lucky you

  • those picups r f-ckin bad ass

  • This very amp is on ebay right now for 60K!!!

  • Damn, nice playing! My dad used to have a '69 LP custom just like that!

  • what kind of pickups did you put in it? I've got a 73' lp Custom but it sounds really brittle and harsh...

  • The Pickup are the stock Pat No.

  • I think the dumble amp helps a bit with the tone.

  • nice playing!

  • Nice Les Paul

  • Nice sound.

    What strings do you use?

  • Darco 0.11-0.49

  • i've never heard of a dumble until now. i'm guessing it's a really nice vintage amp. how much are they? great guitar and fantastic playing as always man.

  • Dumble amps are untouchable for mortal man, so don't even bother looking for one, unless you drive at least a Ferrari, and I'm serious! 8^)

  • A down payment on a house, last time I checked...

  • Greg, you wouldn't happen to be a fan of Les Pauls, would you? ;) j/k. like always, great playing and great gear.

  • I don't know what to say. A Dumble and LP Custom... Wow! Both sound amazing! Great playing too!

  • dam u r good. Nice guitar indeed. Great feel and soul. Excellent when its over driven.
