9/11 wasn't a war crime. It was an act of terrorism. The people held at Guantanamo are not war criminals, they are non-combatants and many of them are not being held in relation to any specific crime. This is why they are not be tried by the military, a civiliian court is the only one that is legal and it is also the only chance that they have of getting a fair hearing - a legal right under our Western system, that people like Savage claim to support.
Assumptions of motives in other individuals tends to make not only those that disagree with you, but the individuals who are undecided on an issue as well, side against you. If you had just said "this guy always takes savage out of context, its very easy to do" your argument would be stronger. Furthermore if you dropped the superlative the argument would be more sound. Yeah. I actually read a lot of the founding core documents on conservatism, and what you describe is what all have in common: intentional irrationality and reasoning through tradition. They reject building a theory/plan of action using a set of data/facts as a scientific approach to political/social problems would dictate. All it guarentees is the right to be judged by the law, not by an insignificant personal trait such as race or religion. Yeah. I actually read a lot of the founding core documents on conservatism, and what you describe is what all have in common: intentional irrationality and reasoning through tradition. They reject building a theory/plan of action using a set of data/facts as a scientific approach to political/social problems would dictate. I used to assumed that is how everyone thinks, but it really isn't. I learned the scientific method in elementary school, but most learned other things, like fundamentalism.
