Why needs creativity? the novel is too great already, what the majority of our audience(but not for those who haven't read the novel) simply wants just the exact same thing from the novel being presented in a visual way(it is not meaningless at all),the old one did a pretty good job except the fighting scenes due to technical restraints.Remember three kingdoms is not some ordinary costume piece,it is based on one of the most famous ancient classic literatures .

@aviationyu sigh.. now i understand why we have 5000 yrs of history and we're behind US which has only 300 yrs of history. anyways that is off topic. but again, this is 三國, not 三國演義, not the novel. i agree, 三國演義 (the novel) is so great that it's not replacable. so why we need creativity? let me tell u why, Koei put some creativity into 三國演義 and bam! we have the well-known Dynasty Warrior. our enemy, the japs, put some creativity into 西游记 and boom! we have the legendary comic Dragon fucking Ball.

something can be creative something can't,the director needs to know what are the important and what the not so important.For Lubu's death,in the show it is different from what depicted in the novel,but to me this is totally acceptable,but for the appearances of Zhaoyun,Zhangfei,Machao and others I totally can't accept,they are just too different from the traditional images of these characters,and the removal of some important events like XiaoYao pass and Nanman conquest are also not acceptable.

司馬懿把八陣圖誤以為是八門金鎖陣 休 生 傷 杜 景 死 驚 開八字所佈成的八門金鎖陣 諸葛亮佈陣是依金 木 水 火 土 五行相生相剋加上九宮格佈陣的八陣圖 所以有進無出 可見司馬懿和諸葛亮天差地別 不懂裝懂硬要去破陣
