  • Einer der ganz Grossen. Merci pour la presentation.

  • Je l'aime tellement bien...

  • This song reminds me of Jacques Cousteau. Does anyone agree with me or am I crazy?

  • i'm sorry... but what is your problem ??? you don't have to be sarcastic because someone likes Mr. Bean... and besides, what does it matter... I was just talking bout the song, I heard it in one of his movies and thats why I got to know it... geesh >_> having a bad day or something ?

  • And it was a very appropriate song for the end of that movie, as that was his goal, to see The Sea.

  • completely agree :)

  • I love that song !

  • bravissimo, Charles Trenet, minha juventude , recordações

  • une chanson géniale ... vous avez déjà entendu la reprise en anglais "Beyond the sea" des celtic women ? c'est tellement beau ^^

  • La Mer!!!!!!

  • 00:29 looks pretty nasty.

  • French is a beautiful, evocative and poetic language UNFORTUNATELY it's been hijacked by the French who insist on using it all the time !

    Just kidding lol

  • Une chanson magnifique!

    Je l'adore!

  • Written by Charles Trenet in the train going from Montpellier to Perpignan in 1954

  • @leorege Lyrics written on the train from Paris to Narbonne in 1943 and recorded in 1946.

  • MR.BEAN?

  • The First time I heard this, was from Mr. Bean's Holiday. The second time was on LOST, when Shannon sang it.

    It's kinda great :D

  • J`aime cette chanson....très belle!

  • Thank you for this. It always reminds me of family holiday at Cap Gris Nez in the 1960ies and 70ies. It also features on a fantastic CD called Cafe de Paris.

  • tres bien,merci

  • Mycket vackert is swedish Suedoa for very beatyfull

  • This song is beautiful. Does anyone know where to get the complete translation? I heard this song on Mr. Beans Holiday.

  • The sea, that we see dance, all along the bright gulf(bay), has silvers reflects, the sea...of changing reflects under the raaiinnnn ainnn Hard to translate :P its the first couplet at least enjoy ur french lesson lol

  • Its gotta be a sung by a Frenchman, means nothing in English, and I love the French my papa was French.

  • Mr. Bean rocked this song !!! Anyway, it's great !

  • merci

  • WERNER 4

  • I think Bobby Darin's Beyond The Sea is a great, great record...but this is something that transcends pop music. One of the most perfectly moving combinations of music and lyric ever. Love Trenet's subtle variations of the melody as the song proceeds. I could listen to this 20 times over without feeling I had enough.

  • Lovely pictures lovely music. Thank you for putting this on YouTube.

  • The sea, which we see dancing along the clear gulfs

has silver reflections. The sea, has changing reflections

Under the rain. The sea, To the summer sky confuses her white sheep, With angels so pure. The sea,

Shepherdess of infinite blue. See, Next to the ponds

Those tall wet reeds. See, Those white birds, And those rusty houses. The sea, Has rocked them, Along the clear gulfs, And with a love song, The sea,

Has rocked my heart for life.

  • Thanks for the translation. Appreciated.

  • Traduction infidèle

  • I appreciate your taking the trouble to translate the words for those who don't speak French. J'apprecie le fait que vous vous etes donné la peine (ou le plaisir) de traduire les paroles pour ce qui ne parles pas la belle langue qui est le français.Mike

  • I like this song, it is the song that plays in Mr Beans Holliday all the time lol.

    Well done.

  • Bravo!

  • THANK YOU very much! mon cher!

  • great! :D

  • Sehr schoen ! But I think that in the title has to be the name of Charles Trenet. Danke schoen for posting.

  • I didn't make the pictures thinking of Charles Trenet. In fact I made those pictures for postcards and poster. The idea of making a slideshow with Charles Trenet came years after...

    danke shöne!

  • I love the song and the way it is sung,

  • thank you!!!

  • its wonderful :-)
