Haha, ignorant piece of crap. I do drive a GT "Bullitt" now, but that 4.0L car was the best... Big man talking crap over the net. I would freaking smoke you on the track, tardboy.
mware is that for manual or auto? i have a 3.8L manual and im pretty sure i timed it right at 5.8sec. On second thought, i might have been going down hill.
I have a V6 4.0L manual, dual exhaust, and CAI, I have raced it at the local drag race here in Utah and my 0-60 was 6.2 sec. I watched 3 other races 5.0L V.s 99-04 GT, the result was Gt By a Hair at best.
Yeah, that information is off. You can't fully depend on publications to give you the best info. 4.0L cars are 14.something second cars bone stock. with CAI/tune, exhaust and gears, they are monsters.
On Dragtimes, out of 153 timeslips submitted by owners of Mustangs running 14.00+, there isn't one stock 4.0 V6 running a sub 15 sec 1/4 mile. You don't think the professional testers for the mags aren't the best at what they do? Your car sounds great and I just bought a 08 V6 yesterday so, yeah, I like them, but they aren't 14 something cars stock. Period.
Sad thing is, no, they are not the best. And the more you read into it on various sites, the more you'll see that. There are a ton of guys out there that beat mag testers everyday.
I wouldn't say 'destroy" at all. It would be lot more of a driver race than you expect. I have a v8 in my '68 GT/CS, that doesn't mean I could smoke any v6 car on the road (it's the 230hp J-code 4v 302 btw). Technology changes. You're spouting more hp, but if you come across a modded 05+ v6 car, I'd watch who you challenge.
uuuummm...ur buddy's cobra is obviously broke. ( drive an 07 v6...and have driven a cobra....thats only thing i can even think to say is it must be broke.)
lol did ur buddies cobra have an engine or did he just race you with the body rolling down a hill while u hit the gas? cuz there is no way in hell you will beat a cobra unless u throw a supercharger on the v6. trust me i have a 2006 v6.
Thanks, buddy. I'm posting a better clip right now actually. I bought the Pypes Performance Exhaust 4.0L v6 x-pipe and midpipes (you can buy those as a kit) and then I just added flowmaster Mustang GT American thunders to it. I got the pipes from Pypes' actually site. :)
how much did it cost you in all? i asked this car shop how much they would charge for x pipes and installation, they said it would run from 300 to 400 depending on what the bottom of my car looked like. thats a lil pricey dont ya think? Right now i have single pipes on 40 series (flowmasters)
But here is a lil advice that i've learned about reving my engine. b4 you rev it let your rpms go down to about 750. you wont get any backfire. nice sounding car by the way
Let's see, Pypes x-pipe and crossover pipes were not that expensive, but cost the most, and then the GT mufflers were slightly used...I would say I put $500 into it TOTAL. The local midas mounted it for near nothing, but they put my old v6 flowmaster on one side, stupid... but hey, what can you expect from midas. Find a different shop. It doesn't take that much time to fit and install the system. Also, make sure they have Ford's v6 exhaust balancers on each pipe or you'll have buzzing.
Yeah, when the engine was cold, it would have more of a backpressure pop, but it was no biggy. :) If you want that sound... it sounded more mean than the regular GT I picked up a few months afterward (now on a bullitt, which sounds great)...get this setup. Pypes makes great stuff for the v6, I just don't like their mufflers.

Considering the fact that the 4.0L does 0-60 in 6.2 bone stock. 99-04 GT 6.1. wow, big diff.
I guess that .1 second makes you more of a man.

Where do you get your info?
MSN has the 05+ v6 at 7.0 0-60 with a 5 speed manual and a 15.5 1/4
99-04 GT does o-60 in about 5.4 seconds and the 1/4 at 14.0
GT would destroy the v6 mustang
