Although some people on the net were critizing it for being chunky? Chunky? Sure it's a tad bigger, but it's not chunky. I compare it to my friends htc wildfire s and it's only a mm fatter. No a big difference.

I have a black one. Sometimes it works a bit slowly but that's bcuz of multitasking operation. I can fix that with taskiller (an app u can find on Android market). Overall,this is a great phone. It takes me a month to get familiar with it,and it surprise me with so many cool and useful function. Love htc, love my hero.

I'm not that in to these smart phones, but for me it's the HTC Hero which give me more possibilities to do what i want. Okay, so the iPhone looks great, and seems like it can do much stuff. But so can the HTC Hero. So why spend 500 dollars more to get something that equally good?

We must be reading different magazines. The I've read state either the opposite - that the iPhone is still better - or that they are comparable. The only reason why I would ever buy consider an HTC phone is because of the price. And that's a good indicator of how comparable it really is. If the Hero truly WAS better, than the price would be nearly the same as the iPhone. I live in Taiwan (home of HTC - and even worked for HTC for a short time) - and I see 10 iPhones for every 1 HTC phone.

Just got my hTC Hero and I am very impressed. I chose this over the iPhone and I'm glad I did. It oozes quality. Deffinately earned those awards. I can see why so many people say they like it more than iPhone :D

I love my HTC hero but the only thing they could have made better is if it would record video in vga so 640x480

and also the hero definitely needed a LED or Xenon flash and i also don't like the quality of the pictures it takes. I did a comparison between a 5 MegaPixel Nokia N95 8GB

and the HTC hero and i must say that the Nokia N95 8GB with it's carl zeiss lens makes awesome pictures and VGA 640x480 video @ 30fps.

I have a g1 and am strongly considering a hero, my g1's camera app took horible pictures out of the box, but there is a app on the market called snapphoto that basically uses the acelerometer in the phone to detect stability and also makes a few other tweaks. This app on my g1 (with a 3mp camera) was taking pictures that were on the order of 3-4x better than with the original camera app.

This is the GSM version of the Hero. Sprint changed the CDMA version around. So you can't say that this isn't the "real" HTC Hero. This one came first.

Personally, I would prefer the way Sprint has it.

yeah it also doesnt have a qwerty keyboard lacks a camera, interchangeable battery if you get urs fucked up, no memory stick and you cant run two apps at the same time...at the least I have a G1 and I love it, sure its bulky and freezes sometimes but danggg I can do sooooo much with it! i dont envy nothing from the iPhone....with this fone and all the other HTC phones ive seen Im a HTC buyer from now on

Either the hero or the i phone - depends what you want

with the hero you get a more open market, and it allows you to do more on a friendlier interface and comes with a higher quality camera.

With the iphone you get a phone thats compatible with your computer 100 percent, good security, and a faster browser

Edge is the predecessor to 3G. Its far slower than 3G service. T-Mobile USA, for whatever reason, decided to make their 3G bands run on a frequency that no other cell phone company in the world runs theirs on, presumable because the space would be free so the service would be faster. All it does however, is make it a major pain in the ass to sell a 3G phone to T-Mobile, since it means that you have to change the hardware inside of the phone so that it would run on that weird frequency.

This is a nice looking phone, but you know what the SAD THING IS. This phone does not process this fast!! This demo is sped up because the actual phone lags and processes a lot slower!! Watch an actual review and you will see how slow the phone processes. the More widgets the slower it gets!!!!

depends where you live. If you live in the US, Hero might be a better choice because you can get 3G connection. Touch HD would only be able to connect to wifi since it is not supported by any US carriers and must be unlocked to be used.

It's a good thing they're not fooling with you with this ad. It's actually this fast! Not like the ads of the Nokia N97. With the ads of Nokia N97 it ooks very fast, but the real thing is not.
