Gaeilge is different, but not that hard. It is somewhat daunting to read at first though and it has initial consonant mutations (lenition and eclipsis), but it isn't any more difficult for a native English speaker than German is, although it probably would take more practice because of how different it is from Germanic languages like German and English.
