You have to tilt your body like he does, away from the ball. Also, you have to let the ball come down. start practicing slowly and then add a bit more strength, youll get it. works a lot better than the slice serve as a second serve IMO.

@62996n Arch your back more (don't force it, use a deeper knee bend). Toss the ball behind your head slightly. Hit from 8 to 2 on the ball. That's how you get the correct axis of spin. To get more spin, you need to (perhaps consciously) get a deeper racquet drop so you get more space to accelerate. I like to toss the ball a little forward, helps me use my body to add pace on top of the spin.

wow finally a home video of someone actually doing a real kick. but yes i find it hard to get it to kick to the right always. sometimes itll just be super topspin, and sometime ill just end up being a slice. its really hard to master. but i guess variety isnt too bad either

I have a question: which part of the ball do you hit, because you contact point isn't visible, and it seems like you're hitting the right side of the ball (instead of the usual left), yet it's still kicking right...I've tried hitting the ball like that before, but it's never worked for me...any tips or key points that you have when you hit this monster?

He's getting the top right corner and brushing up, across, and forward over it REALLY quickly.

The thing you want to focus on is really getting the brushing action, and lots of racket head speed. These aren't his usual kickers. Usually he gives up some of that spin for pace.

Surprisingly, like with much else in the game, there's no single way to hit a twist serve that works perfectly. But there are basic fundamentals to each way.

As a receiver, you adjust your position to your opponent's position. You must be about at the center of his possiblities. If he stands this much at his left, he cannot hit on the T and have a straight line. It will still be angled. So you can be standing by double outside line. without any problem.

But, even some pros would be scared by some of these. Of course, they may be his best serves ever put together, but it's yet scary.

Thanks. Probably a good way to think of it is how slow can I hit it (forward direction) and how much spin can i possibly put on it without adding too much forward speed on the ball. Then once you start mastering that you can start adding more speed.
