  • And I think we have a winner!

Rattlers wrestling for dominance make them a prime example of a Lawful Neutral--neither good nor evil, but they adhere strictly to a personal code of honor.

  • theyre trying to be cobras

  • I believe that's a mating dance, not a combat ritual...

  • What luck to come upon that.

  • I was hoping to see how they handled a number 7 1/2 shot from a 12 gauge.

  • onla a dead snake is a good snake...

  • Wow,that's a one-in-a-million chance, did you really just happen to walk up to it?

GREAT shots and thanks for the very cool upload!

  • they are not biteing they are snake wrestling

  • The Judge 410.

  • ya tap that ass

  • i would flatten them bitches right there.

  • try holding a wild male rattle snake with your bare hands there nice

  • Very cool video! It's two males fighting for a female. It's a battle of strength and stamina. They could kill each other but they don't. It's a little like thumb wrestling - whoever pins the other most often wins and goes off to find the female who is nearby.

  • They're courting one another...potential mates.

  • @Michlimania

    blackhawks win.....lol

  • @huntercalgary Yea...it was a cool series. Pronger got punked and Coke-Kane got the GWG. Toews has boo ku hardware now.

    Wings in 2011 baby!!!

  • @Michlimania no they are trying to see whos mor "manly" so they can mate with a near bye female the two wrestling are both males

  • mating, making babies,

  • @BIGSKYHAL50 that's right. It's not a fight but a mating ritual

  • Why Didin't you run and second What were they doing?

  • Ah...a mating ritual.

  • that was me in that air plane:)

  • Great video! I also hike at Windy Hill and ended up coming across a large female Nor Pac Rattler. I took quite a few pics of her....again, great video!

  • That was amazing footage...thanks for sharing..

  • They didn't bite, they just pushed each other.

  • Do they ever bite and inject venom into each other during these matches.

  • this sucked so muck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • That is not a combat, they are fucking

  • wow! that is something else. i love windy hill and that whole skyline ridge! great diversity of snakes up there. never saw 'em doing that tho.

  • Where was that filmed

  • The English adder, vipera berus, is said to wrestle like this at mating time, I have only seen 2 adders in the wild, I have read about this dance, or wrestling, and seen it filmed once. amazing!

  • shotgun time boom boom boom!

  • Yeah - before they get the chance to mate :))

  • @SavageHmr wow why would you kill them? thats like killing a dude flirting with a girl(if theyre battiling that means theres a mate near by) plus thats a trail that you hike to see wild life. so why exactly would you destroy the wild life?

  • @xsnakemandougx because next time you might be on that trail and not see it and it does not rattle your going to get bite .

  • @SavageHmr 99% of bites are from stupid people who think they can handle the snakes. they can feal vibrations on the ground and will run and hide before they bite. best thing is to just leave them alone.

  • @SyPer84 Do peoples' dogs get bitten much? My dogs chase garter snakes on my land, but they seem a little afraid of them. I am happy that there are no poisonous snakes in western Washington state.

  • @3Mudbone1 Dogs and cats do get bit from time to time but only because they corner the snake and mess with it. Most animals will run from anything bigger then it in the wild even bears. So walk with a heavy foot, watch your step and have fun with nature its nothing to fear. People only fear what they don't understand.

  • @SyPer84 Yeah I live in the woods, I know all about animals. I have bears and dozens of other species right here on my land, and I am a professional wildlife control operator. I have spent more time in the woods than 99% of people ever will, but I was curious if someone who may know more than poisonous snakes would know about dogs getting bitten. In Sri Lanka there are some little snakes which are not only not afraid, but will come after YOU. I also have more time at sea than 99% of people.

  • @3Mudbone1 Yes your right i was manly talking about the US. But there are snakes like the Bushmaster is south America, the King Cobra, and mammals like the Tasmanian devil, and the Wolverine witch have been known to chase people. I have studied animals from the time i was 5, worked at zoo's, was in a marine biology school for 3 years and have traveled the world in the Navy. Im always open to learn more, and help people know more about the things around them.

  • Not the sort of thing you see every day. Well not round here anyway, I live in France and we see lot's of snakes, mostly non venomous, but certainly not rattlers. Great piece of film mate.

  • cool me and my freinds favorite animal!

  • that's pretty sweet man. You're lucky to have seen them.

  • It's their way of seeing who's the biggest. They are competing for a nearby female. It's very similar to an arm wrestle. They are feeling each others strength. The weaker will submit and leave.

  • I wouldn't go past there if I encountered that...OMG, it's gonna be so terrifying but pretty cool: a rattler showdown!!

  • I dont think thats combat,

  • Thats really cool! I've seen tons of rattlesnakes in the wild and i've never had the oppertunity to see them combat. amazing

  • i can see you were so scared.....

but i like it anyway. it's very cool. the videos i watch about rattle snakes the cuter they become and i am starting to like snakes FOR THE FIRST TIME in my life.....

    thanks

  • they look like they're trying to arm-- er.. i mean head.. wrestle.. each other ^^

  • looks like northern cali in the spring time nice footage

  • wow.....thats pretty awesome...ur one lucky person 2 encounter this!

  • WOW! THATS SOOOOOOOOOO RARE COOL!!!!!!! oh and I have a projacet about Rattlesnakes!

  • Now that is a rare site. I would love to experience that!

  • sweet

  • 1) North Pacific Rattler-one of the deadliest snakes in the US

2)seeing them doing the fighting ritual

    THAT'S INCREDIBLE!

  • If I saw that I would wet my pants and run.

  • How do you know who wins?

  • ugg...i grew up by portola

  • That's male combatting and it is fairly rare to observe in the wild. Lovely creatures!

  • That's awesome... good find

  • this is fucking halriouse! lol

  • Great Cmaera work. I am impressed!!! You got to see something very rare.
