  • shredder

  • this thing has just 2 octaves to play... isn't too little?

  • AWESOME!!

  • JEAN MICHEL JARRE QUE SE CUIDE!

  • Santo Dios!!!,,,,,,,,,,tu haces maravillas con un casio de 20€!!!!!! :-O

    Bravoo!

  • are these keys really clickin' like on this video? i hate that but i'm wondering if you hear it when u play, or just the camera is recording that clickin'?

  • dam dude u make jazz improv look easy! can you do one on the garageband ipad keyboard?

  • i saw this on amazon for just under 40 bucks

  • Sounds nice man. That little thing is cool, I was considering getting one. I think all jazz pianists should shed just playing in TWO octaves like that, it would open up their vocabulary no end

  • As a pianist and a big fan of Jazz music, I salute you sir. Very good improv.

  • is this mirrored rigth?

  • amazing

  • i have question. can i record my music in pc, with korg nano key???

  • @sandrovaro sure can. preferably, you would have ableton or some sort of software. anything that takes a midi controller works

  • I got blisters from snapping my finger to this. True story.

  • I can't tell but, you seem to be doing right handed stuff with your left hand?

  • Crazy!!!!!

  • But this video is specular, like in a mirror, isn't it?

  • yo crazy!.....

  • yo creo que no toca el jajaja

  • I am guessing you cant control the rate of pitch bend ?

  • @trulynot

I think you can change it by using the korg kontrol editor. I only just got the nanokey yesterday, though, so I'm still trying to figure it all out.

  • it sounds like the paperboy video themesong sometimes haha thats sick tho dude

  • ahahaha dats iz dope !

  • damn thats some crazy shit

  • Dont buy this.. the Akai LPK25 is way better.. same size real keys.. I made the mistake of buying this

  • very nice chords and improv, is your nano or video inverted?

  • Fantastic Job.

Probably one of the best demos i've seen.

    thumbs up

    :)

  • Niiice Job !!!

I'm thinking of getting one of these to hitch up to my old studio pc to use as a remote synth, straight into my mixing desk and into Ableton on my new pc.

Latency wise how does it compare to a midi keyboard?

would this be ok? or do you think I'd be better off with a small midi controller?

although...thinking about it, I'd probably have to hitch up a midi keyboard via a USB to Midi lead anyway..so I guess no difference?

  • just cool :D

  • So do you find this very responsive? The main reason I would get one is that playing things with qwerty is often really laggy, so is this more instant? I find it really off putting when I'm trying to play a piano part in over a drum pattern etc.

  • I liked the keystroke sounds. They were keeping the beat by how hard you hit the keys. U could have had a snare with a brush in the background and it would have sounded the same. I say keep doing it.

  • very sweet!

  • Can't believe there are actually 6 people who disliked. Are they trolling or simply that stupid??

  • haha i just realized the video was flipped

  • How come the controls are on the right on your device? Mostly the blue keys are on the left o_O

  • amazing, and I complain about my 61 keyboard for not being 88.

you made me eat my words

  • Very impressive.

Only critism - next time record direct from PC's internal sound so you avoid the clicking noises of the keys. Or have the volume so high that the keys clicking cannot be heard over the musical output from the PC.

  • Love your keyboard and your tune!!

  • would nanokey be a good first midi-keyboard for a beginner?

  • That was great! Man those keys are so small. I bet it took some practice to get used to them.

  • it sounds like someone is tap-dancing while you play!!!

  • You have just lighted a flame in side of me that makes me wanna learn piano playing and stuff.

  • hey i got the nano key

when i use it i find there is a tiny delay when you hit a note and when it plays

its not big but just enough to annoy and confuse me!! any advise??

  • That was awesome! You play normal piano/keys I assume?

  • yep! anything with a keyboard, I love to play (piano, synths, nanokey...)

  • @closedtheband don't the keys bother you? they're louder than the actual sound. i think it's bad idea, putting pc keyboard keys on a midi controller i mean cmon it looks like a kid's toy... and im sure it feels that way too

  • Groovy, stuff!

  • is this a left handed nanoKey?

  • @Albel08 A left handed keyboard? There is no such thing my friend...

  • @Albel08 After I re read your post, I now better understand what you are asking. lol. I have the same question now... haha sorry!

  • great job! what pc program you use?

  • I'm a Mac guy and the electric piano is from Garageband.

  • @closedtheband I am getting this keyboard for my Mac. It looks pretty cool! Thanks for the video! :)

  • What's the different between the black and white? bcoz, they sell them with a different price here :/

  • the only difference is that one is black and one is white. same features, same feel, same keyboard, different color.

  • Thanks!

  • I think the tapping of the keys kind of give a drum beat.

  • @SpyTF2Medic Dont try to make an excuse for an annoying quality

  • @AdrienChaos So I'm guessing you're the internet police right?

I'm sorry if I'm "breaking the internet law" for having my own opinion.

  • @SpyTF2Medic No i'm just saying, that your making excuses to fill for a frustrating fact.

  • @AdrienChaos How is it an excuse if I like the tapping sound.

It's annoying and frustrating to you obviously, but to me it sounds good. Please explain to me how this is an excuse and not an opinion.

  • @SpyTF2Medic No no, it is an opinion, and I respect it, but it seems like you have that to improvise for the flaws of the keyboard, which is all of it, but that's not the point.

  • @AdrienChaos I recognize that it's a flaw, a Keyboard shouldn't "tap", but out of that flaw, in my opinion, comes something that adds a bit of a beat to the playing.

  • @SpyTF2Medic And I completely respect it and I am sorry, I realized I type quite eloquently... =/ My apologies.

  • @AdrienChaos It's all good. I shouldn't of over reacted.

  • @SpyTF2Medic That's exactly what I was thinking! Being a percussionist, I've always the percussive nature of the piano, and here you can hear it pretty clearly. :)

  • very nice job. nanoKey is so annoying, but in your case, as @SpyTF2Medic said, it sounds like a drum stuff. really nice!

  • Um wow...

  • Dude, killin jazz playing on a nanokey?!?! What do you think about the feel of the keys? I hear there just like laptop keys (even sound like them). It looks as though it's pretty capable, that is when in capable hands...

  • It's an alright keyboard, but not as realistic as a real keyboard, let alone a real piano (duh!). It's a fun toy and it's really nice to have in an airport between flights when you're bored out of your mind.

  • i want 2 get the korg nano key (black)

and then a mic. to do dark ambient stuff...peoples opinions screw up my feelings about getting one...but i am...

they say the akai lpk25 is better, but it depends what music u play...i like dark ambient with black metal vocals not pop bullshit!

  • i actually just purchased an akai lpk25 and i'll try to throw up a video of that and maybe a comparison of the two

  • @closedtheband Which do you thinks better the Akai LPK25 or the Korg Nano Key?

  • this video makes me want the keyboard even moar... probably gonna go buy it tomorrow lol

  • hey man, thank you so much! it's a fun little toy and so nice for air travel. let me know how you like it.

  • thanks for the post! is it possible to use two of this simultaneously? thanks :)

  • is there any way for u to put up a tab or note chart for this. It would be really awsome to learn?

  • @stevegermano666 It says jazz improv therefore, no chart

  • unless you have to much time on your hands to transcribe it. haha, (not advised, not worth the effort)

  • Hey does that thing respond to touch sensitivity? I would maybe like to get one of those.

  • Yes. I just got mine. Is better than the computer keyboard but still just like the video... a piece of junk that can resolve things very well.

  • @vjrei it does. i actually got one a few nights ago. its not bad. not really worth the whole $50, but it does what its advertised to do. i would try it out before i buy it

  • @iLakitu yes it is velocity sensitive

  • nice skills!

  • hey..will an 30$ external soundcard work well with this? meaning responsiveness..

cool improv btw! i'm seriously thinking of buying this now. thanks

  • do you connect nanokey into computer directly?

what software you used to record, it's pretty good ^^

  • I just used Apple's Garageband and an electric piano sound inside the software that I designed. It works really well.

  • lol, it would piss me off to play on a keyboard like this

  • that's great man! I'll never be able to play like that, but at least now I know the nanopad is worth owning, thanks!

  • how come the more you go towards the left side keys the higher the pitch gets? its supposed to be the contrary!

  • also, the controls for the nano key are supposed to be on the other side; i think the image is flipped

  • yea the image is mirrored, didn't even notice that when i watched lol, you have a good eye (or eyes) : D

  • yeah man, the video is mirrored because when I shot this stuff, I didn't know how to shoot unmirrored videos with my computer.

  • it looks like a toy, but wow is it powerful. like it upload more pleaseQ1

  • wow your good~!

  • dang i want one!

  • i love improv! what's the scale you're usin', yo?

  • whoa!

    your good its scary!

    :Pce!

  • the vid is mirrored?

  • lol maybe its for left handed people xD

  • what's the point of even asking that? great vid by the way closedtheband

  • just curiosity

  • sounds like those keys are finna pop out lol

  • wow

  • i head those are very fragile... i was thinking about getting one. and also the nano pad / kontroler for mobile composing..what are your thoughts on the durability..could it withstand being packed in a bagpack for long periods, for long distance travel like on mass transit or flights?

  • They are just like a laptop keys.

    They're pretty durable.

Actually if you are thinking about getting two, Korg has a sorta carrying case for it, it can hold up to three.

  • Seriouse?

  • where?

  • the only bad things bout this vid is its mirrored!

  • @ynod70

ohh that explains it...i was actually wondering why he was playing chords with his right hand and melody with his left...haha it all makes sense now

  • you got talent (a lot of talent)

  • Thats quite amazing indeed. Well Done man. 5 stars.

  • wow! that looks so easy, he just seems to be messin around with minor and Major 2nd intervals... it doesn't sound the same when i try it though :(

  • Ok Im impressed at what you got out of these toy-looking instrument

  • hang on the key order must be backwards cos he's playing chords with his right hand whats the deal with that?

  • dont mind me i didnt read previous duh!

  • the whole vid is mirrored, peirol..

  • yeh i forgot ot read previous posts when asking...thanks though

  • Good observation! I think the video was flipped because you can see that the other buttons (the blue ones) are on the right side of this nanokey but in every other pic I have seen of the nanokey they have the other buttons to the left.

  • holy shit you're a jazz playing jesus

  • I was on the fence about buying one of these little guys for the longest time, but this video sold me. You're an amazing player.

  • I just bought one of these. So excited to get it in the mail!

Is the amount of distortions dependent upon the program you use it through? For example, am I limited to using GarageBand's distortions only when running it through GarageBand?

  • I use FL Studio's for recording songs with this little thing and the korg M1 software as a VSTi plugin in FL, that works a lot better.

  • is the latency on it high?

  • very cool!!!!

  • what software did you use this with?

  • garageband

  • nice!

  • can you use it with reason 4.0

  • yeah

  • It's beautiful!

  • Very cool, I just got mine yesterday. Step 2: be able to play it.

  • IS it me or are you playing reversed??

  • it's reversed because of the camera/video software.

  • your video look like mirror image,

the bass side is on the right.

  • yeah, you're right... I have a nanokey and the blue buttons are on the left side of the unit when it is facing me. that's odd

  • yes you can use it with FL Studio

  • Nice jammin' - I'm considering! :)

  • I got 1 alredy..........

  • this can be used with a VST host?

  • NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO SSSSSHHHHHIIIITTTTT

and what you think he's doing?

  • lol thanks. i'm new with virtual instruments

  • awesome

  • how much is it?

  • $50 US-ish

  • nice performance on these tiny frickin keys man :p

  • What would be awesome is if there was a small mod and/or pitch bend lever on the side.

  • it has pitch up and pitch down and mod buttons

  • He's playing mirrored 8)

  • did the keys ever pop out so far? How sturdy is this thing?

  • I havent heard of any problems about the keys. Just watching Jordan Rudess tear this thing up and it seems to hold up quite well

  • the keys work awesome and i havent had any problems with them yet. i still am getting used to the size of the keys and the fact that the black keys are on the same level as the white keys. nanokey is awesome though, buy one!
