This was sung at a Embrace Your Lesbian Identity retreat that I went to in 2003. Now I organize the retreat, I hope to sing it again with a circle of women.
@UhOhBeauBeau This is such a powerful song to me. The power and grace in a circle of women is so profound. I heard this song in a workshop for women called GRACE. Krista Petty Raimer is the trainer/facilitator, you can find her on fb.
@MrDemonWorm river of birds in migration song is different for each clan of women, for me its the ancient bird tribes in which i belong of the return of the condor
Thank you, Sister for posting this deeply healing song. Do you know if there is contact info for LIBANA? A SisterFriend is looking for the roots of the song. In 1986, on their "Circle Is Cast" CD, LIBANA attributes this song to the Oregon Woman's Land Community, but my friend would like more specific information as to a)which land community, b)who composed it and c)the herstory behind it? The Lesbian Chorale she sings with will be performing it in March 2009 for Women's History Month. Thanks.
