I think the rythm based combat is the reason why I loved Geralt, because that made him look stylish and special. But I know it looks more realistic now, and for a lot of people it may be much more better the new style. Is just a personal opinion.
@JMSLionheart No that is not what made it different. It's what made it worse imo but what made it different and special was the world was not good or bad it was shades of grey. You see people do bad things you see the same people do good things. The game was more like Dark Fantasy in how the story was portrayed and Witcher 2 is even better because it feels like reading a George Martin book and not a cheap knock off like say Dragon Age Origins.

I preffer Dragon Age Origins overall (specially because of the character creator, the best non-linear story I have ever played since KOTOR, and the charismatic characters). I really enjoyed The Witcher Enhanced Edition, but I cannot say the same about The Witcher 2. For not to talk about DA 2, a garbage.

I like Origins not saying it's a bad game but in the end it didn't accomplish what Bioware said it would a dark fantasy game that is similar to BG which its not. Which ofcourse is a let down to me. As for the combat system I guess to each their own but I always feel more involved with the new combat system and with the original I did not.
true, this is not the next diablo, but the Geralt is not just that, that is what a normal witcher is: a monster bio-killing machine thats "meant" to protect the people. Geral is also about destiny, finding ones true self and, most importantly, Geralt is about finding ones purpose and destiny in life

I'm a PC gamer so I agree, but unlucky the world gaming market is dominated by consoles so cdprojekt need to make money off the witcher otherwise they wouldn't make enough profit for themselves.
The engine however in xbox version is going to be downgraded because the xbox is not strong enough to handle TW2 graphics.
Ok , Rise of the white wolf is the same game as The Witcher from 2007 , or even the enhanced edition released one year later.
Only that Rise of the white wolf was supposed to be on consoles .
Cd Projekt , from my knowledge didn't cancel this game , I knew that it's being put on hold.
Now with the release of The Witcher 2 Assassin's of Kings coming along , and with the new engine they have are not overlooking of releasing both Rise of the White Wolf and Assassin's of Kings onto consoles .
What a shame this has been put on hold or canceled. I really like the look of the PC game but my rig can't handle it, unfortunately. Ah well, one of these days...

The cancellation isn't official. It is just a rumor right now. It is true not to long ago the company had a problem with the development team and the game was put on hold because of it. Right now the game is scheduled for a September release, but who knows what the future will hold. I hope it comes out.

The game was originally a PC only game. Rise of the White Wolf was a remake improvement version meant for consoles. Reading other comments, it looks like the creation of the console version was canceled, thus making it PC only game.
On top of that, more and more games are beginning to be released for PC instead of just on consoles. They are also adding the LIVE function into the games to help sales. Consoles actually cause money loss, while the games earn profit back, plus some.

alright, calm down, its opinion. i purchased KUF: circle of doom, and it really was a waste of money, nothing what i expected, and not even close to comparison with this game. and the fact that this game is slightly similar to fable 2 (this is more mature by the way) is one of the many reasons why it is such a great game. i have the original EUR uncensored release of the witcher, and it is nothing like AC. i cannot express that enough, in fact, comparing it to AC is a huge devastation.

I think I played most of single RPG available on the market, which have more or less decent graphic. I can say that The Witcher, enhanced edition is easy at my top 3 games.
Good storyline, good graphics, smart opponent, brutal world... Enjoyed every minute of it, except only when it took some extra time to get out of combat. But that minor issue is easy forgotten, compared to how good game is.
Any smart gamer would knwo witchter an awesome rpg is nothing like that repetative piece of shit assasin creed, u know the game that had everyone thinking it was actually going to be half decent with its mass marketing of "sex sells"......

IMHO CDPR don't exist enugh time and they don't have enugh experience. People's were asking why CDPR chose not experienced team (Wide Screen Games) to developed Rise of the White Wolf, people said that this developer may not cope with this projectm but CDPR thought that everything going to be allright, but they predict wrong

The game was originally a PC only game. Rise of the White Wolf was a remake improvement version meant for consoles. Reading other comments, it looks like the creation of the console version was canceled, thus making it PC only game.
On top of that, more and more games are beginning to be released for PC instead of just on consoles. They are also adding the LIVE function into the games to help sales. Consoles actually cause money loss, while the games earn profit back, plus some.

This game already came out for PC in 2007. Rise of the white wolf is ment to be just improved version of PC game (The Witcher). If only they will realese it cause right now CDProjekt suspended their works on this

CDPR is a developer of The Witcher at all but Wide Screen Games was making RotWW. CDPR (Poland) was unsatisfied of progress so they cancelled contract but WSG (France) consider that CDPR stopped paying them money so there is no progress.

how dare you compare this game to assassins creed. 1st of all, geralt is far more heroic than altair will ever be, 2nd, a witcher is a monster hunter, this combat system was demoed on human enemies, i dont recall a combat system on assassins creed that you slayed monsters with, 3rd, you can use bombs and magic signs. youre comparing a legendary hero to an assassin. go home and sleep under your rock.

alright, calm down, its opinion. i purchased KUF: circle of doom, and it really was a waste of money, nothing what i expected, and not even close to comparison with this game. and the fact that this game is slightly similar to fable 2 (this is more mature by the way) is one of the many reasons why it is such a great game. i have the original EUR uncensored release of the witcher, and it is nothing like AC. i cannot express that enough, in fact, comparing it to AC is a huge devastation.

I think I played most of single RPG available on the market, which have more or less decent graphic. I can say that The Witcher, enhanced edition is easy at my top 3 games.
Good storyline, good graphics, smart opponent, brutal world... Enjoyed every minute of it, except only when it took some extra time to get out of combat. But that minor issue is easy forgotten, compared to how good game is.

I thought so too, but further through the video the combat seem more realistic and cooler. I liked assassins... and oblivion and If this has better combat than assassins... and a good story and just a good rpg like oblivion, it will be on my must have list.
