  • what a great song, it was a double A with, which side of the bed.

  • Good post..thank you for this.

Nothing out there like this band(my favorite all time band.)

    nothing beats the Beat.!.

  • the guy emerging from the coffin used to drink and play sax at our local, the infamous Saxa, aka Papa Sax. He also played with Prince Buster and Desmond Dekker amongst others. Stll hanging in there, but much missed.

  • YES!!!! My #1 favorite English Beat song. I had always believed in my mind there was a music video for this buried somewhere. And now I can finally see it for myself. Too awesome!

  • wonderful i have been looking for this one too! is this a live recorded version or is that the studio version playing there?

  • @kind2311 i believe it's the studio version that came with this original video from autumn 1981

  • been looking for this song for a long time love it

  • Where on earth did you get this from? The picture quality is superb. This is one of The Beat's forgotten singles :(

  • @SoulstylistJukebox Quite right, it was a single that was released months after the second album but made no impact for no reason except that things moved very quickly at that time and the Specials had split after Ghost Town, the Beat's earlier 81 singles had done nowhere near as well as their 1980 successes and by then the big chart craze in the UK was Adam and the Ants.Still, a very good track not featured on any of their original albums and strangely on no compilations either, by a GREAT band

  • @kenfig Actually, the only compilation this song appears on is their 1983 best-of album, "What Is Beat?". That's where I first heard and fell in love with this song.

  • @therealsoulproduct What i read previously was that album didnt have this track on the vinyl version, at least in the U.K. ; that's if there ever was a U.K. 'version' as distinct from a U.S. import. What i also read though was that it did appear on the U.S. cd version of the What is BEAT ? album ; again i dont know if that was officially released in the U.K.

  • @kenfig Oh..well, yeah I don't know if I can speak on the UK version since I'm from the US. But I did at least read that the UK version did have an extra album featuring B-sides and remixes and stuff.

  • @therealsoulproduct But what i'm saying as well is that i dont know if the album DID have an official U.K. release or if it was only a U.S. release available on import. If it didnt get a U.K. release, there IS only a U.S. vinyl version and in that case, aside of a bonus vinyl disc, the track is not on the main track listing. However it IS definitely on a c.d. version. Dont know either though if the c.d. had an official U.K. release distinct from a U.S. import
