  • Sehr geil!

  • great work mate! keep up those skills...hater wanna hate. (small dick syndrome)

  • @jtles10 You need to get over this Hater crap, Are people no longer entitled to an opinion these days? If you dont like something, your a hater? pleaseeee. grow the fuck up.

  • Shit. Give me two 1200's and a Rane TTM56S any day over this toy crap..

    Your no DJ..

  • @britcorefan1 Would rather have that set up to but you dont have 2 be a dick 2 this guy and mock his skill. He's allot better than most of those other shity 12 year old VDJ dj's hanging around and posting in other peoples videos asking if they can check out their channels. Those guys aren't djs.

  • @spacepolice247 I never mocked his skills, I was referring to the Vestax VCI-400, I am expressing my opinion, and my opinion is, its shit.

    .

  • first song please ?!

  • I can get more for less with my cdj's and I don't need ninja hands to do it...

  • Why does it look like alot of shit is bein pressed but not much is happening?

  • @SlumberLack maybe cause he is really smooth with his technique? or he is shit haha.

  • @SlumberLack i was thinkin the same thing. Dudes come on here acting like they're actually producing a track

  • fuck this toy shit right off

  • That controller looks wack i wish they stopped making them.

  • Looks like some paudly d fake shit.

  • RESPECT!

  • Fucking inspiring man! Great work!

  • Sweet Fast Hands

  • niceeeee

  • fakeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee it been edit

  • @vinynator the crossfader is mapped to an insert effect on the beats buss. Check out the template documentation (linked in the video description) for details.

  • crossfader only on the left?

  • hmm should i start with it too?! MAYBE ;-)

  • @JoeyJ234 Glad you dig it! I'm almost finished with a studio version of the Badu remix- will post it on Soundcloud (username "nonagon") when it's done.

  • I neeeeeed the first song mixed with the eryka badu acapella!! shivers down my spine.

  • Thanks man, Great for this rainy day. I gonna have to get me one of them controllers. Makes my Xponent and Reloop look like toys.

Can you run tables through that?

  • what programm are you using ?

  • they took our jerbs!

  • Comment removed

  • Shock... ANOTHER sync button debate... please internet, drop it. Wrong place. Nonagon's got huge skills (in programming, as well as knob twiddling). This was just a 5 min routine a couple of months ago... hopefully in a few more months, it'll be an hour long (if he can work out how to fit more vocal samples onto the 'loop recorder' bit :) Kudos mate... ignore all the sync DEBATE kiddies, they seem to have to mouth off whenever someone is performing EDM. Wankers

  • Excellent!!!!

  • WTF r u doing!! your not mixing your just pushing any button. THAT'S NOT CALL MIXING!!!

  • this new gear is going to bring me back to life as a dj I can see it now...

  • cool video! love the music on here

  • Amazing stuff! You should release a full-length mixtape, I would buy it. As for all the hassle about dj-ing, I had a laugh cause i didn't see a crowd in the video!

  • how can u hear what u'r doin? no output neither headphones :s

  • no gain wtf?

  • @Dansteros no output also xD

  • this is dope~~ do the delays and the reverbs work "post fader".. like in an auxiliary channel? cause if it does... I'm sold!

  • @SnareForceTV Since I'm running Ableton Live, the sends are switchable between pre- and post-fader. I had them set to post-fader for this demo, which you can see in action around 0:30- I turn the reverb send all the way up on the "main beat" channel then "catch" a kick drum with the channel fader (though I miss the first time =) ).

  • @controllerismdotcom, can i use this in a mix?

  • @BraveDial0gue send me an email and we can discuss. Contact info is on my website, linked at the bottom of the video description.

  • fuck dude mad props the shit sounds hella sick!!

  • dont do it bro if you using traktor go with t1 but in my opinion s1 mutch better choice real talk

  • I am in love with Your mix and this console , I am thinking about DDJ-T1 , VCI-400 , Digital Jockey 2 right now - but the winner will be VCI :)

I am playing deep house - so what do You think?

  • you are sick

  • @bassetla I'm not quite sure what you're asking, but: I wrote and recorded all of the music in this vid, and none of the vocals (which are all ripped from the 12" singles of well known hip hop tracks). The Erykah Badu and 2Pac "remixes" are part of my live performance set, but you can grab a version of the Dead Prez remix on my Soundcloud page (linked from my homepage in the video description).

  • fucking love this man. real chill. seriously it's great lounge music

  • fucking sick shit!

  • Great! Did you pay for the tracks or you are tif of talent and work other people?

  • @bassetla finding ways to hate

  • Cool love this video - videos like this are helping to bury the F**ing pratts that are just "SYNC" pushers. I have been a professional dj for 20 years, and I use anything and everything available to DJ on, vinyl, cd, midi... its all the same to me.

Im sick of getting stick for using a controller, getting accused cheating coz of some useless newbies giving dj's a bad name.

PLEASE CONTROLLERISTS.. put on a good show and dont be a lazy twat. You now have the power - USE IT!

  • This dude is niiiice. What's the name of that background track????

  • Twitch is sweeet!! I'm a life-long vinyl DJ, but I own a couple of cd turntables as well. Twitch is really easy to get into, and it comes w/ Serato Itch...which I'd give a solid B+ to.

The feature set is kool...but I do think Traktor is better overall.

The only negative about twitch is no platters....so there is no scratching. Other than this, Twitch is for every/anyone looking to get into mixing--sound bending--having fun with their joints. Itza blast! :D

  • are you happy with your purchase? I'm looking at this, and twitch, any opinion on which I should buy?

  • Wat I like about controllers is no need to haul around a mixer, cdjs or turntables and no need for the sedative box. U Just this and your laptop. Great if your a mobile dj always On the go or want a more compact setup.

  • Niiice!

  • @DJEDDIEFINGAZ im going with the Pioneer DDJ Ergo V. i was wondering if u might know a better choice or if it may the right way to go?

  • @hrenthor I have the ERGO & I hated it at 1st. I'm a die hard VDJ user & to me it just doesn't work all to well wth VDJ but then when Serato DJ Intro dropped...I fell in love wth my ERGO!!! I'm about to buy a DDJ-S1 or a VCI 400 so I can use Serato Itch. I'm totally in love wth Serato now. But if ur about to buy an ERGO by all means do so but use DJ Intro wth it.

  • @bkthelegend The ERGO works great with Traktor 2 as well as you then can controll sample decks.

  • @bkthelegend DJ Intro?

  • Good mix keep up the good work.

  • good mix .the vci looks real nice

  • @ArubaKamba thanks!

  • what software do you use?

  • @MrXavierization + ALL

Who said this video pertains to DJing? Sure, he's using a DJ controller, but that's not to say he's DJing. What nonagon is doing in this video is closer to performing a song/set. If you're gonna hate, at least go to a video where the person using the controller is DJing.Besides, this is a different category then spinning vinyl or CDJ's. And hopefully you're good at scratching or something, because hate to break it to you but, mixing on vinyl or CDJ's isn't anything hard.

  • i just had perfect sex listenin to this

  • wow simply wow....

  • im a beginner DJ im wonderign if i should get this or the stanton 4.DJ which one should i get PLEASE ANSWER!!!

  • @hrenthor Depends how much money you have and how devoted you are.

The VCI 400 is a superb controller, but comes with a limited version of Virtual DJ, so to make the best out of this controller, you need to expand it with an expensive traktor 2 or ableton live 8. Maybe better to start with the Stanton perhaps?

  • @hrenthor vestax stanton is crap

  • @hrenthor I own the s4dj if you have a good computer I would get VCI just because it has more to offer. Although the s4dj is great it is limited but the price point is good for it. I been djing for 26years and I got'em all. Good luck with your choice.

  • very nice set! really digging you mapping, live applications like this is where controllers really strive.

  • Well Done my friend. this is really chill. good job

  • I personally like controllers better, because its cheaper and they can be used to make EPIC build ups!

  • LOL at controller haters. I guess you idiots want to ignore that CDJs and newer mixers now have Precise BPM detection, WAVFORMS, synch cables, USB ports and the list goes on....open your eyes and embrace the future. The skill of beat matching is over rated and doesn't set you apart anymore which is probably why you are hating on controllerism...

  • Only the masses can descide who is worthy of being called a dj NOT other djs, from my experiences the crowd doesnt give a shit what device is controlling the music as long as they love what they hear, natural selection will ensure that if one sucks as a dj you'll be properly notified at some point lol.. seen that happen on turntables, cds and controllers

  • keep doing what your doing i like it, sounds great, some people refuse to acknowledge the future, they think if they bitch alot the world will stop advancing..smart djs/people advance with technology others are left talking about the good old days.Cutting, dropping and mixing is not easy, the software will not beat match/sync all songs properly, it does not know how or when to choose songs based on the vibe that a particular crowd is giving etc..im a dj and the only dj i know using cdjs is my DAD!

  • I know why you CDJ bourguois snobs are hating on controllers. It's because you are jealous and affraid of new DJs competing with you. Guess what: being a good DJ is not about having the most expensive gear, but about making the crowd go wild and giving the most boose income for the venue you play in. What this guy does on his VCI 400 is fantistic and he has skills, creativity and insight, more than you haters will ever have with your expensive and invested CDJ players. And you know this.

  • @ArubaKamba preach.

  • @ArubaKamba rofl, too much truth to this

  • @ArubaKamba its even worse when clubs don't want "us" because we don't do cdj's...

  • @ArubaKamba I'm a CDJist...I love controlelrism, I love CDJism, I love turntablism, and I give props to this guy. But the guys you refer to as snobs are probably not threatened by the people who have the skill of the person in the video, but one who uses the the sync button most often on their VCI. Innovations in technology has made it easier for a talented individual to be creative but has also made it easier for a talent-less idiot to say they're a DJ.

  • @priyonjoni I get your point, but as I said, the most important thing is what the crowd hears. CDJs often complain about the fact that new DJs use only the sync button and don't know how to beatmatch. But the crowd don't care wheter you beatmatch or sync two songs, as long as the sound is great.

People can find those syncDJnoobs annoying, but they also form competition in which MOSTLY the strongest DJs come out and the weakest are left behind. From that point of view, they have their use.

  • @ArubaKamba I preach the same philosophy as you. I'm not one of the guys who complains about the DJ syncnoobs; in fact I'm not even affected by those guys because my money as a DJ doesnt come from my beatmatching skills. The only thing I have a problem with, is if you LIE about it. Don't claim you can beatmatch if you really can't. And you're right, a crowd only cares what comes out of the speakers; but the guys hiring you will give you more credit when you "look" like you're workin.

  • Looks like things are getting heated in typical internet fashion. =)

This vid is intended as a tech demonstration- an example of one approach to mapping the controls on the VCI-400 for non-traditional use. The Max for Live patches I used were adapted from my personal live setup (APC40 + monome) in a day, and are not meant represent the most optimal approach to using this controller. My hope is that getting these initial ideas into "the wild" will stimulate discussion that we all benefit from.

  • Why is he using ableton and not traktor or something similar, jog wheels are kinda rendered useless in ableton and it doesn't seem like he's controlling anything just kinda playing a song

  • why doesn't every stop hating on each other

  • Pushing buttons like a fucking video game isnt beeing a dj , these controller dj's are wack .

  • @MrXavierization Hmph, i bet you cant even mix using "real turntables" yet alone advanced technology like this, and p.s i dont use sync and controllers are still fucking amazing.

  • Actually i have been spinning wax since 1992 in local clubs/bars etc . Currently using 2 x technics 1210's and a ttm57 , And cdj800's with a djm600. This is pushing buttons and no skill involved other than reading a manual . You probrably use virtual dj on a laptop and think your a dj . Fucking twat

  • @MrXavierization Why are you so mad that DJing is evolving? Stop holding back progress by being one of those archaic, elitist douchebags.

  • @hantipants It aint Dj'ing , It pusshing buttons and letting a computer do all the work .Its all good evolving but this is just wack .

  • @MrXavierization Its evolution hands down. The new technology offers more convenience for those who want more time to be creative with their mixes. If you dont want to use the sync functionality then well and good. Your deluded if you think that this isnt the future. Get over it.

  • @hantipants Its got nothing to do with sync function , its the fact that any muppet like yourself can pick one of these shit things up ,push a few buttons and think your a dj.

  • @MrXavierization Oh yeah, that makes sense. In order to be a DJ, you need to invest loads of money into vinyl or CD's? Thats pretty retarded. I guess you dont think of any number of club DJ's who use controllers. What if someone has CDJ's and uses software to control? Are they not real DJ's? Get off your high horse.

  • @hantipants No you dont have to invest in vinyl , Serato or traktor works on vinyl cdj's . These controllers are toys and the only dj's i see using them are the public school boy type that think its "cool" to be a dj .

  • @MrXavierization And whats the difference between a controller like this and a set of CDj's using software? Most controllers use the layout of 2 CDj's and a mixer so i dont see what your point is. Using a controller without the sync function involves the exact same skills as using CDj's with software.

  • @MrXavierization Fix you're grammar, sucks, kid. Oh, wait. I know you, you're that immature, no life. How's it going?

  • @XxTheResurrectionxX Ha ha ah , i have a stalker following me around youtube now . Get fucked you looser

  • @MrXavierization Not my fault I stumbled upon you're comment. Very rare to do something like this. Any who, you really need to calm down, kid. You're anger is getting the best of you. Anger management classes are great. I helped another kid just like you with those classes. And your grammar is horrible, too. Take some English classes as well. By the way, it's get lost, looser. Only a real 12 year old like you uses that language. Grow up.

  • @XxTheResurrectionxX No your stalking me across youtube you freak . Stop inboxing me and get a life .

  • @MrXavierization I don't even know how to find you out of the billions of videos that are up, common sense, kid. I think you should get a life 'cause you're the one stalking me and being a little bitch. Grow up, kid. Get a life while you're at it. And fix your grammar.

  • @XxTheResurrectionxX YOU are the stalker you fucking retard . Now run along and play in the road like a good little girl. Cunt

  • @MrXavierization How am I the stalker? You're the one that's following me. Your intelligence is as high as your brain capacity. Absolutely zero.

And calm down, kid. Your anger is overpowering you.

  • @XxTheResurrectionxX You are stalking me across the internet you fucking wierdo . Get a life

  • @MrXavierization Alright, child. Believe what you want. The fact is YOU'RE the one stalking me. You're just too blind to see it. Get a brain, kid.

  • @XxTheResurrectionxX The only fact here is that you started inboxing me insults as i didnt like you shit videos . Then procced to stalk me around youtube . Talk about being a fucking wierdo .

  • @MrXavierization If I blocked you, how can I inbox you? Obviously you didn't block me which is how you are following me. Plus it doesn't count as hating something if you go to the video and immediately type negative words. The only fact here is the fact that your intelligence is low.

  • @XxTheResurrectionxX You been stalking me for ages , Sending me pictures of yourself and other gay shit .

  • @MrXavierization You got it wrong, bub. YOU'VE been sending ME pictures of you nude. Which, of course, is rather disgusting 'cause I'm no rainbow like you.

  • @XxTheResurrectionxX Trying to turn it round now ( facepalm ) .

  • @MrXavierization Mlapecaf. I'm pretty sure that's not a word...

  • @MrXavierization

Times change, your gear and technique is not of interest anymore. Booooom!

  • @Katarismo Dj turntablism doesnt intrest you , you would rather watch a button pusher . Says it all really doesnt it . Your a cunt

  • @MrXavierization

No it's not about "pushing buttons" vs "spinnig wheels" - it's about the possibilities. By syncing two beats together with a scratch here and a scratch there you'll be able to impress my grandma or the teenie 'round the corner, but more advenced sh*t is creating and beeing able to do ANYTHING with....controllerism. Don't forget your PROSAC..you'll need it from now on, (again) Mr Stoneage!!!!

  • @Katarismo There is no skill involved in this though . A few days playing with some toy like this and your master it . Turntablism is proper skill ,takes years to master . like to see you try it rather than pushing buttons you cunt

  • @MrXavierization

So what, good for nowadays kids they could blast a crowd better than a DJ two decades ago after years of training, Whats your problem? Are you sad, do you need help now? --> Prosac, bitch!

  • @Katarismo DJ jazzy jeff . Two turnatbles and a mixer , simple setup a million times better than this wack shit .

  • @MrXavierization

    Two turntables and a mic = AK47

    Controllerism = Nuke rockets

    Booom, Biatch!

  • @MrXavierization It's pretty much exactly the same to a fullsize mixer and turntable setup...

  • @BurningArtsStudios But less skill , i mean you could do all this button pushing with a laptop and get the same results .

  • @Katarismo Just check out dj craze or dj vajra's vids . Like to see you try what those guys are doing on your expensive toy .

  • @MrXavierization

So guess what, punk: DJ Vajra using two MK2s a Rane-Mixer plus 2 Novation Dice (Ouups, MIDI-controllers!!) with Serato Scratch and a Laptop makes his toys even more expensive than just buying a Laptop and a Controller (or moduls of controllers..in the nearer future). The difference: He is just able to scratch in and out some beats, NOT to create and modify/control/create. Beatmatching, scratching and that's it! 3-Min-Show, WOW!!! CAN-YOU-HEAR-ME, ballscratching dinosaur?!

  • @Katarismo Keep playing with your toys kid

  • @MrXavierization

    Our toy - your nightmare

  • @MrXavierization

Ok, I'm willing to help you:

Search "Dj Mateus B. - performance set" here on YT and you will understand.

4 decks, effects, skills - It's all in our hands now. A perfect crossfade has become a simple push, BUT it leads us to more creativity and more joy for the ears!! That's it, now FUCK YOU!

  • @MrXavierization

Well, then keep spinning your plastic and be proud of it!

Controllerism is about sound and creation of tracks. If your goal is to be able to sync tracks, well, be happy with it - It's old fashioned thinking, that's for sure, Mr Stoneage!

  • @Katarismo Contollerism isnt dj'ing , its like playing a fucking video game .

  • @MrXavierization

Right kid, controllerism is controllerism and spinning whells is like playing with your f@cking balls.

  • @MrXavierization im pretty sure vinyl dj's said the same thing about cdjs when the were coming up.

  • is this really that much better than the S4?

  • @joshxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Yes!!! it iS!!

  • @Incredible819 what makes it so much better hahah?

  • Kwaliti bruv!

  • fekin awesome!

  • Impressive. Loved your originals. Very Boards of Canada. Well done.

How long have you owned the VCI-400? Mapped to Traktor Pro2 or something else?

How is it working out? Any issues to report so far? It is a sweet controller, one I am serious about.

  • bravoooo...

  • Dope!

  • @ytsm Very real. Check out the walkthrough video for more info on how the controller is mapped.

  • This is the greatest thing that I've seen.... Please tell me this is for real?

  • @rondon2333 For this video I was running everything out of Ableton Live. I didn't actually use the VCI-400's built in audio interface either -- I used my MOTU Ultralite instead -- but didn't have any latency issues.

It's a simple suggestion, but have you tried decreasing your audio buffer size? In Live, I run my Ultralite at a buffer size of 128 samples, which leads to roundtrip latency of < 10ms.

  • dope stuff.

I guess you work with Traktor Pro 2? Which latency do you got? I have my VCI 400 for 2 weeks but my latency is about 85,2 ms ...that really sucks ! Any tips?

  • Nice work mate. This is exactly what this controller is meant to be used for... no default mappings with this thing.

  • Fake

  • AWESOME!
