  • I remember this, as i am one of those of you who actually played the game through and beat Diablo ^^ but here are two questions:

    1. Who's the guy that appears at the end; the former diablo-possesee with a hole in his head? Don't remember him. Is he just a random guy or does he have some backstory?

    2. What would've happened if the wanderer had simply left the stone alone? Did he really HAVE to thrust it into himself? can't remember the rules ^^

  • @MetallSwede

    1. He is the son of king Leoric. In one of the books in D1 it sais Diablo most probably will seek to posess a weak soul, that of an old or a child.

    2. The hero had no clue what to do with the soulstone and the only reasonable solution is to captivate Diablos soul within himself, he did just beat the Lord of terror and thought he would be stronger. This was Diablos plan all along, to get to posess a strong soul.

  • @larbjov

Ah, yes, it would be fitting that it is the weak king's son ^^

But as for the soulstone, theoretically, what would've happened if he had just left the stone where it fell? Would Diablo be able to come back without a vessel to posess? That never made any sense to me. If the prime evils need to posess a mortal, why not just leave the stones? I don't remember if it is explained in game or not, but if it is, i have definitely forgotten it. ^^

  • @larbjov to be fair to the Wanderer, he had a good reason for wanting to captivate Diablo within himself - he reasonably figured that otherwise the demon would be spreading his influence from the Soulstone unchecked.

  • @larbjov he tried to possess king leoric but he was too strong and taking his son was a quick back up plan which worked because he was still quite innocent and very easy to possess but u were on the right lines

  • @MetallSwede The thing he should have done (and what ends up happening in D2) is he should have smashed it in the hellforge, if he left it alone, evil things would have tried to take it back, and that's really it.

  • @MetallSwede As larbjov stated it's King Leoric's younger son. The Sorcer and Rogue endings are non-cannon, with the "true" ending being that of the Warrior who was either retconned or later told to be Aiden Leoric's eldest son returned from the crusades. He is the one who becomes the Dark Wanderer in D2 while supposedly the Rogue and Sorcerer go mad from the experience as a whole and become Blood Raven and The Summoner respectively.

  • @MetallSwede As for why he slams the stone into his head, personally I'm with you and woulda just kept it or something, but the story is that Aiden thought himself strong enough to contain Diablo. And as larbjov pointed out this was Diablo's plan from the beginning as he now had a body that was capable of venturing out of the depths of the Cathedral.

  • OH NO HE DIDN'T! what a fool.. L0L.

  • "You know what, I'll just stick this sharp demon stone right in my skull. What could possibly go wrong" WTF dude?

Just keep the damn thing in your pocket, and hang it in your trophy. Bitches would die for that shit.

  • Yeah I look at sharp shards of stone all the time and want to jam the thing straight into my head.

  • Head On... you're doing it wrong.

  • lol the sound it makes when he takes the stone out is the same as the zerg eggs in Starcraft lol

  • Did anyone notice how Diablo tried to show the middle finger?

  • Damn that nigga had nowhere else to hide the ruby.

  • Sorry.. Terror...

  • There must allways be... a Lord... of Chaos....

  • @vghardcore And he was the son of Leoric also but he was out fighting a war that was started by Lazarus, when he came back his little brother was already the vessel of Diablo and his Dad turned into the Skeleton King.

  • Head on, apply directly to the forehead!

  • Ooo... precious stone.... *THWONK!

  • 0:49 He just came :P

  • SOULSTONE:BONUS:NONE,PENALTY:100 percent!

  • Hit stone in da head.

  • Gee Willikers, everybody. I have great idea! Let's take this shiny gem containing the soul of the Lord of Terror, and jam it into our skulls...derp

  • why trying to emprison diablo in your own mind .... when there is lava next to you

  • @datara2

Its a demon soulstone, not the One Ring

  • Children... don´t do this at home!

  • that sounded like a zerg cocoon when someone took the soulstone off

  • So. How do all 3 of the guys get corrupted then? is the warrior ending the -true- ending, since he's diablo and all.

  • @VampireofEpicness it was thought to be so, but they announced in diablo 3 that dark wanderer is son of king leoric. :( I wish they wouldn't have changed who the dark wanderer was.

  • @siprus Probably just talking about the diablo 3 wanderer, im pretty sure diablo 2's wanderer died...considering you killed him.

  • @siprus They didn't, the wanderer was confirmed to be the D1 warrior, where the Rogue became Blood Raven and the Sorcerer became the Summoner...

They just added a little depth to the backstory of the warrior, he had actually had to kill his own father and little Brother to stop the corruption of his family and people... but then he just got possessed by the devil, does that sound more diablo-y?

  • I'm surprised shoving the stone in their foreheads doesn't give them brain damage.

  • Possibly the creepiest game I've ever played. The ONLY other game I know that had such creepy factor was ES4 Oblivion. Diablo 2 + LOD simply had much less of it. I've played TONS of games over the years, and Diablo still ranks (for me) as the creepiest ever. The dark atmosphere and tantalizing music remains unmatched to this very day. Those prerendered 2D graphics have a LEGENDARY feel to them. Honestly, I just DON'T find 3D graphics creepy at all.

  • the rogue is bloodraven, the sorcerer the summoner, and the warrior is actually "diablo".

  • @Sergzmoolah Since there are no differences between the 3 endings in Diablo1 it doesnt matter wether Diablo was once a Warrior, Rogue or Sorcerer. All lore states is that there was an unknown hero who defeated Diablo and to denie another incident of corruption from the soulstone he tried to imprison Diablo in his own mind - and failed, because his mind wasnt stronger then Diablos. Wether this move was planned by Diablo is not certain. Ergo, your theorie is BS ;P

  • @Zeraphor acctually, both the Warrior, the Rogue And the Sorcerer fought together to defeat Diablo. Maybe not in the game, but thats how the story goes ;) and the difference between the movies are the faces and the screams in the end

  • @musselsoppa Well, if u play in multiplayer, they fight together.

  • @Sergzmoolah nice theory but impossible

  • @Sergzmoolah no, hes just "the wanderer" i think....

  • @Username636 "the wanderer" becomes diablo round act 4 i thnk.

  • @Sergzmoolah ah ok :D but then he can't be bloodraven and the summoner i guess ;)

  • @Username636 ya hypotethically but blizz said tht all of them wer corrupted even though their waz only one stone. so they each bcame own corrupted selves. wikias r magic;)

  • @Sergzmoolah

    agree.

ask kasya at diablo 2 = bloodraven was rogue captain sent to tristram = the strongest "rogue"

ask cain at d2 = the warrior become "the east" wanderer

ask drognan (luth golein sorceror) at d2 = his visjerei comrade (sorceror) was sent to tristram, and get insane when he is back = the comrade run inside jerhyn castle and found something "important" in the castle namely "arcane sanctuary". the problem is "the only sorceror we found inside the sanctuary is only the summoner."

  • @TheIronhurricane finally someone gets it:)

  • @Sergzmoolah Am, no youre wrong in one thing.Warrior becomed a dark wanderer, not a new Diablo.

  • @Gentlemenwithgoldhat The Warrior became the Dark Wanderer who was Diablo... so yes the Warrior IS Diablo.

  • @Gentlemenwithgoldhat dude did u actually play diablo 2 the dark wanderer is just a title and taking in the soulstone made hin become the vessel for diablo which eventually became diablo himself

  • He thought he was strong enough to contain Diablo inside himself which is why he shoved the stone into his head. This is exactly what diablo wanted so he could embody the one who defeated him and not be inside some punk kid. He tried to embody King leoric first but was too weak, the attempt did make Leoric go mad though

  • he/she shoved the stone in his/her head because he/she felt he/she was strong enough to contain Diablo which is what he wanted because then he could embody the one who defeated him. The hero was corrupted slowly by Diablo while he tried to fight it and then left to go find Baal and go back to hell which is what Diablo 2 is based off of

  • can somebody please explain to me why he just shoved the evil rock INTO HIS HEAD?

  • scream all you want i guess thats what happens when you SHOVE IT IN YOUR HEAD!!!

  • there wasn't one outro for all classes?

  • i need a non-banned cd key for diablo 2 for battle.net please send me a pm if u got one, mines not working

  • I cant see him >.<

  • So, the Diablo 2 hero smashes the soul stone, while the Diablo 1 hero jams it into his forehead? Seriously, what could have possibly made the D1 hero think this was a good idea? O.o

  • @AnduinX He thought he's powerful enough to contain diablo's soul, just like how tal-rasha did with baal. But actually he failed.

  • @Innosthegod Besides... unlike the hero of Diablo II the one in Diablo I naver spoke to Archangel Tyrael, so he had no way of knowing that he could have taken the soulstone to Hell itself and destroy it in the Hell Forge. Even if the hero had taken it to Cain, the old man would not have known what to do with it. AND after all that time spent in the depths of the Monastery the Hero had just turned mad... just as Diablo expected, he had planed it all along so as to get a new, stronger body.

  • @AnduinX he didnt have the hellstone hammer bro

  • @osiud Actually it does make it ahead of its time, because back THEN it was. Try to compare it with other games until '96-'99 and you 'll see. Remember, gaming industry evolved really rapidly around 2000+.

No nostalgia however mate, i wouldn't like to go back to those GFX for sure ^_^. That era is long gone, there are great games right now as well BUT all i'm saying is you should judge Diablo for what it was, not how "crap" the cinematic seems to you TODAY. Don't you think?

    Hf

  • @osiud You are funny, mate. You already know the answer to those questions, i 'm not sure if you try to insult me though? Awwww, such a generic behaviour! :)

But yea, for the last time and hopefully you get it... The ending is 15 years old, of course it doesn't seem unique at all right now... But I won't call it crap, as i won't call the first Ferrari crap because 2011 Fiats perform better. That's all.

    Hf

  • @osiud You do know when Diablo came out i suppose, ye? Some of you weren't even born in '96, obviously 15 years later the ending doesn't exactly seem unique.

But i shall feed the trolls no more :D

    Hf

  • so diablo and the sorcerer warped to the caves somehow? because the area looks like the caves area

  • Warrior ending has him turning into Diablo. Rogue ending is Blood Raven. Sorcerer turns into the mage you fight in the Arcane Sanctuary (can't remember his name.) Thats what I think happens.

  • @JD867 didnt Andy raise bloodraven from the dead?

  • The retard!

  • 0:21 THE SOUND OF ZERG EGGS!

  • generic ending

  • @Byt3ful <- Obvious troll is obvious.

  • heres the chances what happend

1: the character gets corrupted by the stone and becomes diablo in diablo 2

2: the character protected the soulstone until he died evidence is because the man in diablo 2 is male and white while in diablo 1 you can be female male white or black

  • Hola! I am currently doing commissions of all your favorite characters, Anime, Comic, World of Warcraft, Lord of the rings, Dungeons and Dragons, Original Characters, Game Characters, Movie Characters, you name it!

Also doing traditional art for those who don't love games and fun. Anyway, I have a sample video with some of my work on it, check it out and let me know if your interested!

  • He saw what happened to the previous guy who put the souldstone into the forehead, what did he do? Put the souldstone into HIS forehead... Clever...

  • This is why you should identify your stuff at Cain's before equipping it.

  • @PenguinPokerPlatinum i loled so hard at this one XD.

  • @PenguinPokerPlatinum because there wouldn't be diablo2 :)

  • Why name this video "sorcerer ending"? All the Diablo 1, no matter which class you choose are the same.

  • @HiphopDestroyer666

The difference is the character one the ground yelling at the end. Other then that they are the same but identical? No.

  • If I ever get extremely rich I will let someone cut me a ruby exactly in that shape!

  • @FreshDumbl Man if you find a ruby that size and flawless you tell me post haste!

  • @FreshDumbl will you proceed to applying it to your forehead?

  • @Vladdyboy

I'm afraid it wouldn't include Diablo's soul so I'd rather not risk the physical integrity of my brains...

  • I like how it makes a "Zerg-Egg" sound when she cuts out the Soulstone^^

  • This is the reason why they made a Diablo II... this battle against the demons of hell will never stop. Im looking to see Diablo III in stores!

  • when he takes the soulstone out it sounds like a zerg egg

  • Dude, this is the warrior's ending.

  • @393193000 i am seeing an old tanned sorcerer, not a warrior

  • @393193000 they are all the same, but there is a woman scream in the ranger ending, that's it

  • @393193000 Dude does it really mattter? They're all the same.

  • What does this red thing do!?

  • 0:31 that was scary for that time, since diablo 2, this game lost its scary "touch".

  • He jabbed it into his forhead so diablo wouldn't be released on earth again -_- there was no tyreal or portal to actual hell then to smash it at the hellforge u guys are dumb

  • guys, he puts it in his head because diablo's got him half corrupted already and he tricked him into thinking it was a good idea. O.o blizzard has said this before.

  • so what would happen if you jammed it into the forehead of something else? let's say a rabbit?

  • @Hollysswedishslave then a game called Diabbit will be released soon....

  • the hero put it in so as to attempt in trying to control it.But they fail miserably, and you fight one of the heroes from this in part 2 I guess.Well diablo possessed one of them,I think its the warrior in part 2..i m not sure.

  • @Ryuuusa yeah i think in diablo 2 you fight the sorceror (the summoner in d2) and the rogue (blood raven in d2)

  • so wait he kills himself with the crystal afterwards?

  • Sighhhh, The reason the characters shove the soulstone in their heads, Is because The only way to keep the soulstone out of the wrong hands, Is to Contain it within one who's will is strong enough to hold back the prime evils Power and will. Obviously the warrior wasnt strong willed enough, and diablo took him over.

  • I think most fans would agree that the hero's decision to stick the soulstone in his forehead was very strange and parhaps Blizzard could have done a better job at atleast explaining what the hell was going on (i.e. the reason for putting that shiny red thing in your head).

  • This makes no sense i mean, its like:

"Oh look a big spiky demonic thing, i better jam it into my forehead"

    *stab*

"well that didn't work out like i planed"

  • so what exactly happens if you simply carve the gem out of the guy's head and toss it into the lava? what will diablo be freed or something?

  • he think that he can imprison the soul of diablo in is body just like tal rasha but he cant

  • this scared the shit out of me when i was little

  • Soulstone

    Use: Apply directly into forehead.

  • @JJR234 Apply Directly into Forehead? Yes, Apply Directly into Forehead.

  • @JJR234

Soulstone: The origin of Head-on headache medicine.

  • what the fuck is wrong with these people, you pull something off the big bad and he turns human, this must mean the big bad and posses people who touch the thing you took

    do you?

    a: try and destroy it

    b: hide it

c: spend the rest of your life guarding it and never letting it out of your sight

d: stick it in your head.

so all of the heros of the first game are the big baddies of the second? how? they cant all have diablo soul in their heads, he only had the one.

  • @iamnuff1992 and they didnt all turn into diablo? just the warrior. the sorceror becomes the summoner, and the rogue becomes blood raven. READ.

  • @wackamastaz

all i said is they all turn in to badguys due to the infulence of diablo's stone.

not that they all turn in to him...

  • @iamnuff1992 only the warrior. if u watched the intro to the 2nd game it was a male and he had a long sword. the rouge and sorc. didnt use a sword so only the warrior became diablo.

  • @6Stoned6Gamer6

no... what i SAID was they all become the badguys.

i know only the warrior turns in to diablo

the others become blood raven and summoner

im assuming that diablo somehow made them do it. and in each ending each hero slams the soulstone in to his/her forehead.

  • @iamnuff1992 oop my bad yea ur right.. sry was drunk as the shit last night lol. bilz need to shift there ass... ne more work and it wont need ne improvement lol

  • @iamnuff1992 you asked how this could happen if only one had the soulstone in their head. well, that's why only one turns into diablo. the other two just get corrupted.

  • @wackamastaz but in the endings they all put it in there heads, why not show them being corrupted by dark magic instead? or whatever, its not really that important

  • @iamnuff1992 because 15 years ago, blizzard didnt know the exact storyline and boss fights for the game that would come out 6 or 7 years later.

    also, the game.

  • @wackamastaz

oh you bastard. i just lost the game...

  • so who's the guy diablo's corpse turned back into?

  • @dubugga Prince Albeit

  • @MRJStudios2010 albrecht*

  • what do you do kids when you find diabols soul stone shove it in your head like so *shoves stone in head* AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

  • 0:19 listen carefully. That soul stone is not just a stone, its the original design for the zerg eggs from the first star craft. Or at least the sound is lol

  • why the heck does the sourcerer have ARMOR? and A KNIFE? did he just summon that up out of nowhere just for the heck of it?

  • I would think that the stone, much like the ring in "Lord of the Rings" has a power to make people do things. After all, it contains the dark Lord Diablo himself, so that's not too much to be expected.

  • thats right, the warrior think he can use the soul stones power but its too powerful so he transform into the dark wanderer and the dark wanderer transform into diablo in the game diablo 2

  • better in head than in a place below

  • come on, instead of shoving that gem into your head, how about throw it into the lava BESIDE you, c'mon only 2 feet away... lazy basterd!

  • Hi, I'm the Sorcerer.... welcome to Jackass! *shoves soulstone into his own head*

Steve-O, Chris Pontius, Wee Man, Bam Magera and the rest of the gang: *incomprehensible laughing*

    XD

  • So after defearing the devil and collecting his gem what to do well I dont want someone becoming diablo so ill ram it into my head, wow that was stupid heres an idea why not just friken smash it

  • @orcstr diablo 2 showed you that soulstones are indestructible, with the exception of a combination of the Hellforge and the hellforge hammer. Lava, your own hammer, a jackhammer... none of it will work

  • @firedrake110 and besides, lava, your own hammer or a jackhammer wont grant you some fine runes :)

  • @Roffeskanal Amen to that, brother

  • diablos stone has great power in it, its like holding a 1 billion dollar diamond, if the only way to keep it was sticking it into your anus then you'll understand what im saying

  • lolololol

  • The stone is Diablo...pretty much

  • Who was the old diablo? So you stick this stone in your head and become a new diablo? hmmm... But why do you do that ?

  • @FallenAndRised IIRC, the Diablo slain in this first game was Prince Albrecht, the son of King Leoric.

  • i wonder what would happen if the summoner, blood raven, and the dark wanderer all had a reunion

  • thay should make a movie of diablo that i would go see by the way thay r makeing a saw 7 3D

  • so..... there should be diablo 1000 if all people who beat diablo is just gonna ram this unto their head its so annoying that the character is soo idiot! they could just not put it as diablo 2 it can be Lucifer 2 aiight?

  • @cf1613 they didnt do rammy in the second one they went bashy smashy or smashy bashy :D

  • wtf? I totally misunderstand the meaning of that he have rammed the soulstone into his forehead and obviously became a new Diablo. What the hell? Why did he do it? And what's all about this crappy stone anyway?

  • @SpareXXXX He didn't become a diablo. The Sorcerer is known ass The Summoner in diablo 2, the rouge is Blood raven and the Warrior is the dark wanderer.

  • @Nahkzul

and? was D1 really only about how these heroes became demons?!

  • @Nahkzul actuallt blood raven was a rogue that was corrupted by diablo, the hero that put soulstone in their head became diablo because they were not powerful enough to hold his soul and he took over their body, therefor the darkw anderer is the hero from the prev game and he becomes diablo when when you get to act 4, as for the summonor, i really dont know

  • @killswitch6950 Its as i said, the Warrior became The wanderer, and the wanderer is diablo. Everyone knows that the story wasnt really complete in diablo 1, and thats a thing that messed it all up. Because if you completed the game with, like the rouge, diablo wouldnt have existed in the second diablo, and thats what mixed it all up.

  • @SpareXXXX its not well explained because the game was 2/3 done when shipped and they decided to change the story(the original diablo killed your family) but essentially it kinda goes like this: the soul stone that contained diablo was failing and the books talked about how Tal'Rasha plunged the broken soul stone of bail into himself to contain the demon. The adventurer beliving that his trials fighting the demon had strengthen him and decided to sacrifice himself to hold the deamon.

  • So Diablo II IS A NIGGER NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO ! xD

  • to and ok i hi i to but had nice cookies alaska ok like wow to from oh ok

  • If you are looking for a free diablo style mmorpg visit cronous.com

If you join go to lapis(non pvp) channel and whisper fatmandodo i will help you get started.

  • Kick ass game, i finished it today with the warrior \m/>:) hail satan!!!:)))=))

  • in diablo 2 isnt that guy mephisto ?

  • @SuperShubidua

    No, he's diablo.

He becomes the Dark wanderer, who turns into diablo.

  • @NamelessBlueTurtle ok thanks i never play diablo 1

  • "Man.....I really wish I took the town portal back to Cain to ask if this was a good idea......ah well, whats the worst that could happen."

  • @CyrustheVirus1234 Hahah, yes, indeed!

Ever since I first watched this ending, always have I found this forced plot development stupid.

After battling a zillion hellish minions and beating Diablo only to watch his form return to a boy's, now dead with a hole in the head, he immediately proceeds to try it on as if it's a brilliant idea!

Now, I love Blizzard's titles, but I'd like to see them explain this one.

  • @Banzay27

what can I say? the soulstone corrupts shit up, its like the one ring in LoTR, something holding that immense amount of power is like a drug to all who touch it. You wouldn't cram a gem into your own forehead... but on meth you would.

    Soulstone = meth.

I pretty dumbed it down so any one can understand. No use explain this in further detail. its a damned cliffhanger ending, you beat the game only to have your character go batshit crazy and BECOME the antagonist in Diablo 2.

  • @Vladdyboy Hm, well, thing is, exactly, they never give such an explanation, or any other than that the original hero thought he could contain Diablo's essence. They never mention he was lured by its power or some such. At the end of Diablo 2 when Diablo's and Mephisto's soulstones are shattered, no reference to such a corrupting influence is made or shown either. So the first hero really did just figure it was a good idea on his own.

  • @Banzay27

Ok, another interpretation would be that your character simply went mad and killed him or herself.

I mean, you did walk all the way to Hell.

But then again.... why use a crystal to kill yourself... Naw man, my only answer to this ending is that the soulstone corrupted him. Even though there is no evidence for it later on, its pretty much the only bit of common sense in this ending. Any other interpretation sounds like bullshit to me.

  • @Vladdyboy lol no...the ending was pretty clear, our characters sacrificed themself to become the new guardian of the soulstone, to be sure diablo doesnt corrupts anyone like he did from the cathedral chamber (read the lore). obviously we fail, thats why he comes back as a human walking in d2 intro at the tavern.

  • doofus.."ooo i wonder what happends if i smash this on my head?" BOOM new diablo!

  • Well, that's interesting.

He just shoved a rock in his head. Genius.

  • remember kids! If you find a soulstone containing the spirit of an extremly powerful immortal demonic entity, stab it into your forehead to keep it from causing havoc ever again...

  • So who exactly is Diablo? Before the Hero shoved the stone in his forehead, was he a mortal in demon form? Sorta like Illidian in Warcraft before he became a demon?

  • @TheTurtleJesus Diablo is the devil. He took over the mortal guy's form so he could come to earth and wreak havoc.

  • So.. That big red demon thing is Lazarus?

  • I would done the same...

  • NIPPLES OF GLORY!!!

  • @AbridgerKittynMidna Hey! Hey! give him some credit Lol he could have chosen his ass no one will check there atleast XD

  • @brojack437 but then he wouldnt be able to shit.

he did that to show off his demon possessed gem

  • when hes yanking the stone out of diablo's head... it sounds like a zerg egg. doesnt it?
