  • you are very very strong

  • wow if you do not like this you are the biggest retard ever im even insulting retards by calling you a retard seriously.

  • Can I just ask what motivated all of these people that dislike BB King to take time out of their day to tell people that clearly love the man that he isnt a great guitarist? The measure of a musician is not how fast they can play. That is like saying that the best vocalist is the one who can belt the loudest. Musicianship lies in the tasteful way you choose dynamics and other such liberties. Music and most especially Blues is subjective. BB King moves me and many others, thats talent to me.

  • Hey !!! Easy on the snare and crash please!

  • It ain't about speed, it's about holding the melody and playing with heart. Music means nothing if you haven't got soul behind your playing, you can hit notes as accurately as you want, no one will listen.

  • i love this man becouse he make`s the best blues ever make !!!!

  • That's cool, but I bet he can't sweep pick.

  • @StewieSwan please be joking....

  • @StewieSwan i'm pretty sure someone who is the King of Blues and one of he best blues guitarist in the world can sweep pick.

  • @StewieSwan retards like u on youtube.

  • @StewieSwan *epic double facepalm*

  • bb king isn't playing the guitar he's playing his soul, and the guitar seems to simply be an extension of that

  • Everyone who disliked must DIE. I can just wish to play like this dude!

  • he's still great and always will be

  • wanker. how dare you say his thrilll is gone. just go die somewhere

  • Man u are tight fast dosent mean good. i love metal but i cant say no to the king. and fast solos to this sir(ta few) are imposible to this master

  • His expression is a man enjoying what may be his last performance every time at that age, this vid says it all for me.

  • Meaningless arguments. Stop arguing, take your tampon out and just enjoy the music.

  • Rock facts N1: "Real guitarists don't sit while playing"

  • @13broadcaster who cares

he is playing fine if you don't mind

  • @13broadcaster Are You Stupid Mr. King is going on 86 years old he has earned the respect he can sit stand or do whatever he wants heis "The King Of The Blues"

  • @13broadcaster fuck you

  • @13broadcaster I bet you can't even play guitar and you talkin" bout some facts. man shut the hell up.

  • @ThornfullessRose haha everyone is free to comment what they want, i did so and you dont have no reason to shut me. Then, for the guitar comment, you dont know how many years ive been playin so then its you the one who have to 'shut the hell up'.

  • @13broadcaster This is pure BLUES ! Idiot!

  • brown sitsack

  • what one person is retarded?

  • he puts a whole new meaning to the "music high"

    just look at his face

  • I was right: billykim100 is a pimple-faced 20y/o nobody living with mommy..imagine that. You probably think Coldplay rocks..LOLOLOL..maybe in 15yrs you'll understand what I mean little boy.

  • this sounds awful. i have never really checked out his stuff until now.i just watched a few videos of some of his solos and i cannot understand why this man is so popular. his solos sound like a sloppy mashup of plucking played along to a garageband drum loop done by a 15 year old who has been playing guitar for 2 months. Being an avid guitar player i understand that a solo does not have to be fast to be good, but this just sounds like crap, unpleasant to listen to and rather annoying.

  • @billykim100 ...if you have just recently checked out BB and think his stuff is average, you are not avid and need to bend over and kiss your non-playing ass and throw your guitar away and play videos for a living...every guitarist who knows anything about music and the guitar knows the greatness of BB and his influence to the hacks you prob listen to..you moron, stfu and never post your brainless dribble here again, your mere statement reveals your low IQ and ignorance of music- The World

  • @Pre00 what are you saying big guy?? that just because the common belief is that hes good then thats what you believe?? Oh whats that...you have no mind of your own? What if everyone in the world thought kanye west was the best guitarist im sure you would agree. I play guitar...very well in fact and i am amazed buy truly talented and impressive guitarists such as mark knopfler, and eric clapton. What im listening to here could be played by an 8 year old.

  • @billykim100 It's funny you mentioned Clapton, because he has been quoted to say that he believes BB King is one of the best guitarists in History.

B.B. King does not shred. He does not need to. He can say more in a single bent note than most guitarists can say in a 5-minute solo.

You, however, are a worthless slime unfit to tune his guitar.

  • @billykim100 duude, i'm not going to get into this discussion but nobody said it was difficult to play what BB plays, his greatest tricks the pentatonic scale and the bend, this is not difficult playing, but what an 8-year-old child can't do is write these solos. The blues scheme, melody and harmony is not simple, nor easy, and these turnabouts BB plays are just awesome, because they sound very original, what makes BB one of the best guitarists in history, because he has his sound.

  • @billykim100 You are a moron. Why don't you upload a video showing how good you are at playing the guitar? I need a good laugh...

  • Dude looks like Ray Charles but bigger and on a guitar all into it haha dude can play a mean guitar

  • Great video, keep it coming. New music from BRANDON JAROD coming soon!

  • genial

  • This man has more soul in one pluck of a string than an rap song would have

  • Thats what i call REAL FEELING!!! THUMBS UP... its not a matter of speed

  • It's solo is very fuck easy!!!

  • B.B. King will always be among the greatest...even Clapton and SRVaughn paid huge respect to him...he might not constipate you with endless pentatonic runs but a burst is enough to tickle your innermost senses.......beautiful!

  • B.B.King man, he is livin blues dude

  • my god this guy!! playing guitar to him is easy as drinking water

  • @LazyMonky thats what happens with years and years of practice =P

  • still rockin at his age

  • i like that exclamation ping slide sound in his solo ,,,, lol i dont know the word for that

  • Many ppl here say sick stuff, like Vai is the most passionate player or Satriani is soulless :D complete bullshit, go watch Starry Night in denver, or any blues stuff by Joe, if you havent heard any of that you better do it, especially that Satch was inspired by Hendrix. overall there is a class of players that are deffinately on another level, but thats hard to define, especially that everyone has his own buttons, and when they push it you are happy!

  • No way could they play it with the same soul. You can be as fst as you like but have no soul when you play. a good muciian isn't about speed it's about soul and being able to make people feel what you play. BB King took most of his ideas from the inventer of the electric guitar " Les Paul"

  • im going to see bb king live janurary 2nd. but. the truth i wish it was rether eric clapton or SRV (i know hes dead) or albert king. cause bb king...ehh..not one of my faviorets. i would even perfer buddy guy.

  • EVEN Buddy Guy? like he's just some ordinary player...

If you don't know, Buddy Guy is a HUGE influence on SRV, and wrote some of SRV "hits".

Well, i don't want to be an ass, but he deserves more respect...

  • i get tired of the penotonic scale over and over and over and the 12 bar blues i like what eric clapton and SRV did in different majoring and chordings. just saying.

  • Actually, almost all of BB king's signature licks are based on the dorian mode, not just the minor pentatonic scale.

i have to agree with you, 'cause i prefer SRV style, but i most certainly respect the greatest players that inspired him and "made" him the extraordinary player he was.

  • the dorian is verrrry similar to the pentatonic minor

  • idiot !!!

  • i am fourteen and even i know that shredding is just some nerd widdiling the shit out of a souless guitar where as bb king, srv, buddy guy, clapton and many more play with passion and soul not something joe satriani ,steve vai or kirk hammet and those sort of goofs will ever understand

  • You think that way because you're 14 and don't understand some things yet :)

  • no he was just raised properly

  • well..then theres angus young..who does shred..and definitely shows passion

  • well steve vai and kirk hammet are good guitarists u have to give that to them

but i love to play blues and all my freinds say that blues is super easy to play. its not it is really hard to put that much soul into it. its not that i cant shred its that i think that shredding is lame. btw i love bb.king

  • Actually, you just dont know much about music yet. Soul, is a pretty poor argument. I have never met a musician who was not passionate about what they do. And if you think Joe satriani doesnt have soul you have to be retarded.

  • haha u are a fucking idiot..u juz never seen them played this kinda stuff..

eveery damn guitarist have to know even the slightest bit amount of blues..

u dun fuck around and saying those great guitarist dont understand? pls..fuck yourself..u juz never heard them playing blues..

  • I'm sorry but whilst kirk hammett may suck i've never heard a player play with more passion than Steve Vai. Other than BB of course. Seriously, check some Steve Vai stuff out, if Steve Vai doesnt play with passion then no-one does.

  • what??? that is quite an ignorant comment. vai, satch and kirk are really expressive guitarists. shredding is just a term for playing fast passages and are only good when used properly. something satch and vai do well while others like herman li and synester gates do sound like wankers. speed is something, not everything and can be used to create a powerful and dynamic solo if used well. BB and albert collins (etc) play with emotion and so do some shredders. generallising only closes your mind.

  • i agree wit the herman li statement. he is so sloppy in his playing it sucks. obviously he can play something cuz he is on stage more than i am but he is just a sloppy as player

  • SRVconor- you are fourteen, and have no idea what you are talking about. They are all different styles of guitaring. . . and talking about "soul" when it comes to guitar is pretty relative.

There's no right and wrong in music, what matters is how it makes people feel. And considering satriani, steve vai, and kirk hammet were brought up on this sort of material, it's highly likely they DO understand it. Just because they don't play it, doesn't mean they are ignorant to it.

  • actually yeah. the 14 year old has it right. the 83 year old man playing the guitar is a blues legend, and if you ever see him play live - he will reflect what he is doing on that gibson in a story before his songs ... not that there is a right and wrong in guitar playing or music, but there is a soul, a blues, and a shread ... brought up on it or not ...

  • how about a hypothetical analogy?

otis redding singing my girl = SOUL

nickelback singing my girl = Shit

    is that hard to understand?

  • Jdv11- I'm not really a fan of Nickleback.

And please, all this stuff about "soul" on guitar. Basically, what you class as "soul" is, in essence, a fat man making a constipated face everytime he does a bend.

And then people have the audacity to claim that people like Jeff Loomis are 'so fast, that there's no soul'.

Quite frankly, the dedication it takes to get on guitar is proof enough of "soul". And may I say that the better guitarists could easily play this stuff, but it's not vice versa.

  • i'm seeing him live on saturday!!!!!

  • since when does the king of blues have to prove shit to a punk like you? what have you done in your whole life that compares to what B B King has done for the whole music industry.? I'm sure when he was younger he could hit his chords to your so called perfection but at 80 something years old maybe you should just back the fuck off. I'd like to see you play guitar at 80 hell i bet you can't even play a C chord right now.

  • who ever said shredding was the bee's knees of guitar u fag. ffs i like hard rock and roll but hell BB king plays some sweet ass music so shut up you little punk fagget. just no....no....no you dont have any arguement so just fuckin shit up. he will accomplish more in his life then you could accomplish in 30 lifetimes.

  • well considering the fact that the majority of my life isnt over yet i wouldnt say that....

  • blues is about the feeling man.. doesnt matter how u play it :)

  • dude thats total bs and u know it, shredding is just pointless, theres no motivation in it, sure it sounds awesome but NOTHING equal's up to some good, sweet, melodic blues by BB himself

  • Blues is about feeling, you ignorant tit. Shredding isn't music, it is merely a stunt for impressing spotty teenagers who have yet to discover sweet music.

  • Theirs this stigma attached to playing fast on guitar nowadays, a stigma that isn't attached to violin playing, or piano or any other instrument. The reason for this is that there is so many guitarists who can't play fast so they suggest it's pointless. I am of the belief that a good dynamic between fast and slow is the way to go. I love Steve Vai for example who puts a lot of feeling into his playing (but its fast) but I also love BB who is slow. To discount playing fast is stupid in my opinion

  • I agree with you, although I'm not sure how many of my favourite players or big-name players (other than Vai) would be considered 'shredders' . I like Satriani (is he a shredder?) - he plays fast with style and reason. I like Dave Gilmour, for his melody and feeling, and I like Mark Knopfler and JJ Cale. And Hendrix!

My earlier reply was a knee-jerk reaction to

ledzepacbasslyn423's silly comment that BB King is "not that good... because i've never seen him shred or anything"

  • @ledzepacbasslyn423 You have no sens of REAL music. You probably listen to Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber. Meanwhile everybody who gave this thumb up, knows what real music is. So please shut up with your immature comments.

  • HE IS THE KING

  • yall act like a saied something wrong..dumb fucks

  • The king is amazing he has one of the best voices, best guitar and by far the best soul ever his emotions are just poured into his music

  • Okay. BB King is in a class above EVH and all those others. He's rated among the top 5 guitarists of all time, and EVH is in the 30's or something. And there's a reason for that; King has the "feel." Eddie can play as many notes as he wants, and BB King can crank out the same emotion in just a few. The man pours his soul into that guitar. This man is the reigning living King of Blues for a reason; Lucille will produce some of the most beautiful sounds you will ever hear. Period.

  • come to ireland bb :D

  • pooor quality.

  • matter of preference, fast doesn't necessarily mean good.

  • So true, recently I've been more impressed the slower someone plays. If they can put as much emotion into one note as BB can, I think it's successful.

  • yeah

    plus hes like 80

some people cant even hold a guitar by the time theyre 60 because they got arthritis

  • @DMFan922 Fast doesn't necessarily mean bad either, unfortunately some idiots think that way.

  • @datluigi fast has a couple of prefaced notions to it some people can play fast in their first two weeks of learning to play , but they probably aren't gonna be very complex, but when you add a complex structure and make it fast that takes talent, that being said BB King can play as fast as most of the virtuosos but he takes a more climatic approach, such is the way of Blues solos, They can be fast (Stevie Ray Vaughn) but they can also be slow and melodic and just as pleasing, In My Opinion

  • @pastuiedada Extremely well said! :D

  • @DMFan922

Actually, as in most of cases, playing SLOW and GOOD is way harder: you need to have something to say.

  • @DMFan922 but it does show technical skill that cant be denied :) look, bb king isnt the best technical player, and makes lotsof mistakes. but that doesnt matter for him, because he only needs his great soul in his playing :)

  • @DMFan922

    Agreed!

  • @DMFan922 flow and rhythm is good. Faster speeds are harder to play in flow and rhythm. I would've thought.

  • People who rate guitarists are just fucktards. Completely different style. Chalk and cheese. Being a musician isn't a competition on who's more skillful. It's like saying Picasso could outpaint Da Vinci. Soulful powerbends and traditional slow blues jams are not comparable to blues/rock with two handed tapping and pinched harmonics.

  • Picasso could definitely out paint Da Vinci. He had the benefit of seeing what had been done before by Renaissance masters. Picasso could paint in a style similar to Da Vinci but Da Vinci couldn't have painted like Picasso.

  • There are better guitar players then randy rhoads and EVH by far...

  • mmhhmmm

    James Marshal Hendrix

    Eric Clapton

    Buddy Guy

Just to help out and name a few lol

  • Some comments here are off base. BB is a real fellow. Look 'em up before ya speak.

  • i am not a blues fan,but i have to tell you BB king is a great guitarist

  • salut tt les jalous de bb king

c'est un grand maitre de bleus faut que vous apperennaient qlq sagesse avans de parler de votre maitre

  • where was this video taken? it looks like the keswick where i saw him

  • bb has soul also man

  • bb king is so awsome his soul is so huge he crys with his guitar what is all this fighting god damnit man dont u guys have something better to do enojy the video and fuk of

  • you fucking redneck lay off bb king hes in his 60s or 70s and a diatbetic and still is a headliner, he keeps blues alive.

  • And your a cunt, who likes to play with himself. Fuck off.

  • At least he's got a dick, asswipe. Go and pretend you have balls and quite hating on the King!

  • wow hes so old

  • hahah. racist jackass.

  • as long as he plays guitar for us...

  • fuck you king is god and ull never be as good him

  • haha the dude you're talking to could own king down without even playin!

seriously man.. you dig king cuz he makes stupid faces and bends notes? learn how to appreciate melody, not wanking..

  • yeah man u didnt listen to the whole song...u might be right...anyway have u listened to albert king? he has soul baby!! lol

  • Do you have any idea what you're talking about? No. The answer to that question is no. There's a reason why Rolling Stone voted B.B. as the 3rd greatest guitarist of all time. He pretty much invented string bending. Sonny Boy Williamson was very good, but he wasn't as good as King. You aren't fit to change his strings, you arrogant ass!

  • @captross07 - rolling stone ranking, really? their classification is pure bullshit. It is about fame, not talent.

  • @toxicptl thats not true because they would have ranked Michael Jackson as there number 1 greatest artist of all time........

  • @AMV200 - That wouldn't have been credible. But what I meant is that fame is taken into account (in a certain proportion) where it shouldn't be.

  • @captross07

yeah you arrogant ass who are you to judge king

  • Fuck off, you racist cuntbag! If you knew anything about guitar playing, you'd take back everything you just said.

  • u crazy man lol

  • Nice comment you fucking piece of shit!

  • Look at your name.

  • So what! I've got a goose stepping cock!

  • You love cock.

  • hes awsum

  • i saw him on Nov 17th in Lowell, MA. he was absolutly incredible!
