I was at this show, and at last nights Pegboy show and I must say that I prefer Rise Against's cover although the crowd wasnt nearly as into it as the Pegboy crowd. Both great bands.

It's just stupid to compare Rise Against to Pegboy.. this is just a tribute to Pegboy, because Rise Against is a fan of Pegboy. Personally I think Rise Against is way better than Pegboy.
You have to remember that "Strong Reaction" came out in 1991, so like you said, it is kind of silly to compare the two since they are from totally different eras (one is commerically viable by today's standards, the other more or less pre-dates pop punk) and the bands play totally different styles. And yes, the RA guys do like Pegboy - I know they are one of Tim's favorite bands, and Joe definately likes them.
