Well I guess I was wrong it opened in 1982 too late for too many. On and around 8/16/11 I realized I'm a alcoholic and addicted to a lot of prescription medications in high doses. So I stopped drinking cold turkey and went into DT's and stopped my meds went to bed around 8/15-8/16 and didn't get up again till 9/6/11 when my 21 year old daughter realized something was wrong. She works has a boyfriend she stays with a lot and school by the time she noticed I was nearly dead my kidneys stopped fun

The feeling you get over the notion that he sings to you, it is because Elvis used to put his heart into each and every song. He was not singing just because of money and marketing, he used to sing because he loved his fans and tried always his best on stage. Only Elvis Presley has influenced a whole generation the way he did. I was born in the 60's and grew up in the 70's listening to his songs. That was when life was black and white and not grey as of today.
My mom had a chance to see him perform in Hawaii back in 1973. She decided to wait until he came back again. He never did. You have to seize your special moments in life while you can.

It's wonderful to read all these kind and thoughtful sentiments. I was ten when he passed and remembered where I was when it came over the radio. I didn't quite realize why all the profound sadness...however, I do now. Elvis, the man, the music, the entertainer...he's timeless. R.I.P.
It's been all these years and I can still remember all the construction workers silently crying when the news broke that Elvis was gone. I still miss him and wish that he could have had a better end....but I know that he finally found the peace he was looking for and he is reunited with his twin brother and family. Curly Putnam, Jr has done this before...get you into the flow of a song than smack you in the face with a cool twist. My Elusive Dreams is another that he wrote that did the same thing the first time I heard it...giving that "Wait a minute...what'd they just say?" moment. Elvis here puts so much passion into this song that you wanna break him out of jail so he can go neck with Mary.

No matter how much I listen to it, I get shivers every time I hear his voice. No one comes close to Elvis. He was, is and will always be The King, and I wish I had lived to see him. My folks and I have a friend who met him back in the days. Elvis gave him a necklace and autograph, and our friend told me he'll give them to me when he passes away. They will be my most precious belongings. I love you forever, Elvis.

We have to consider that Elvis recorded his version in March 1975, when Elvis was not in good health and not in the best part of his career. This is shows how great was, ehm is, Elvis. Elvis voice still at the end was superb and he could do everything he wanted with it. I prefer his version than Tom jones'one .
