This is crap. "...at this end of the fretboard" - well that depends upon how many frets the guitar has. Furthermore, he hasn't checked the straightness of the neck first, and that can be affected by the guage and tuning of the strings. This is useless, amateurish crap.
Anyone following this could find themselves really screwing up their guitar and be forced to pay out a load of money for a real expert to sort it out!
Good info, but would like to have seen him include info on how to adjust the truss rod on a guitar that is NOT a Taylor (since Taylor's have screws on the neck instead of a truss rod inside the hole).
Shouldn't you also check if the neck angle should be adjusted by doing something like: holding down the 14th fret and checking the relief of the next fret over?
I'm not experienced or anything, I'm just trying to figure out what's wrong with my taylor.
@Cathode0 fret your low e string at the fifteenth fret. measure the gap between string and fret at the seventh fret with a feeler gauge. should be .011
