  • theye can play that but they cant play Guitar hero -spicaly Guitar Hero Eddy Van Halen!!!- on Expert! -I can play! :D-

  • I dunno, but I couldn't play a music game in a noisy arcade with like 342 different sounds coming from everywhere...

  • If they spend so much time to learn this game, why they don't study a real instrument? It's stupid learning to plasy as well a piece of plastic!

  • Nightdeathwish lots of japanese arcade games have had english words in them. Break out a MAME emulator and play around for a while. You'll be surprised. This isn't as much a thing in RPGs or console games w/ lots of menus and storyline but arcade games are like this frequently.

  • noob + noob = 2x noob

  • Man I loved Drummania and Guitar Freaks when I was still living in the Philippines.

  • not really that awesome, i could do this as well, some people are much awesome than they

  • In Japan, arcade places are called "game centers". Unlike most of them on YouTube, arcade playthroughs on Nico Nico Douga are usually, professionally played well.

  • PERFECT PERFECT PERFECT

  • I would own some bitches at SF4

  • Thats far from true o.o

  • I want this in Lviv

  • keyword "JAPANESE" arcade,

    that was easy mode...

  • Captivate? When did this make its way into GuitarFreaks?

  • On the GFDM player's point of view, they were surprised to see the rest of the CaptivAte songs on IIDX Gold.

btw, it's the extra stage for GFDM V2

  • perfect

    perfect

    perfect

    perfect

    perfect

    Of COURSE...

  • true that

  • i bet they can shred at Guitar Hero or Rockband

  • i cound do that

  • WHAT THE HELL THE NOTES ARE CRAZY!

  • i like that drum game they have at a texas arcade

  • Japanese arcades blow away any arcade i have ever been to in America! Damn, these guys are good!

  • Not necessarily... You'd be surprised at how much english there is in Japan. Same with all asian countries. But could be in America.... Can't see an American arcade with this type of stuff though...

  • i was in japan (tokyo) when i filmed this, it is funny that in games they have most of it in japanese and then they have english words and speach in there as well.

  • @Nightdeathwish

japanese people thing english is cool and classy , so they wear t-chirt with englsih word on it and everything ...

Game are almost 50% of time in english ( in arcade ), because every japanese know that START mean " start " and GO mean " go " ...

  • that makes rock band look like nothing

  • my bad

  • he's playing captivate on guitar freaks. this vid is NOT sped up

  • nope, i did not speed this video up, it really was that fast.

  • sick game

  • why are asians so good at everything game-ralated!!!?

    rawr!

  • and thats how u train an asian for anything...

  • the thing about why these arcade games are not in the us is becuz it costs a lot. these thigns are built very sturdy. as you know, americans can't fucking have enough respect to not mess up the damn machines when they suck at it or lose. i mean so many arcades are fucked up cuz people bang n kick it when they suck balls or lose. probly another reason why people dont have it in US, people cant take care of it n it costs a lot. too much to get ruined. thats normal lvl, ive seen higher lvl players

  • There are a handful of arcades that do have Bemani games such as DM/GF in the US. But there is such a small fan base Konami and other Japanese arcade companies do not bother to release their machines in the US. You are right about kids and teenagers getting mad at a game and breaking it due to losing. Also keep in mind the American Arcade has not upgraded itself from the 1980's ticket games. Most people in the US go to arcades to win prizes not play games that take any form of skill.

  • lol fucking japanese. these people are the fucking future. rock on! first they are going to dominate our economy with foreign kids crazes. Then with their reflexes they are going to rape our mouths and shoot a retarted, siezure induced pop music video. GO JAPAN!!

  • he is not crazy, is normal for Japan.

I saw guys more strong than this ;)

  • what does an american guy speed up a japanese vid for, retard?

  • jealous much

  • he should be in the matrix.

  • Anyone who thinks the video is sped up is a fucking idiot.

  • Yeah he is right for a start if a video is speed up the sound would go higher.

  • that guy on the guitar game has to be a regular at that arcade. and it is repetative so it looks like us americans would be able to do the same.

  • You would think so, but GuitarFreaks has a much steeper difficulty curve than GuitarHero

  • 0:20 This is Guitar Hero times OVER 9000!!! difficulty.

0:31 and that's Taiko Drum Master too the EXTREME!!

  • Wow, Japanese have shockingly fast reflexes, maybe they have faster speed eye sight? I'm from indonesia, and the arcades over there aint filled with insane people like those. First glance, a guy loses a game and sighs to his mate and plays again. Damn, I want to go to japan :D

  • japan im comin!!!!!!! ;D

  • is the song Captivate?

  • yea, but it's SABAKI and not CHIKAI or JOUKA. It first showed up in this game, then got transplanted into IIDXGOLD.

and this video isn't sped up. if this is sped up, iamchrisforlife is a fake.

  • YOU DUMBASS'S WATCH CAREFULLY THE BACKGROUND a guy walkign by normal, then read when they finish the score it dosent go away fast, omg

    all real baby, nice ^^

  • BeatM is a dumb ass they didnt speed up the video look at the graphic thing playing on the screen and the people walking u dumbass their just japanese what do u expect

  • I don't think so. Angus Dei on DrumMania and CaptivAte ~sabaki~ on GuitarFreaks. The music wouldn't match up so well with the charts if it was sped up and the songs haven't changed tempo or pitch. It's not fake. Check any other video with those song names and you'll see the songs/charts match.

  • speed up on the vid. fake song just put there to make it sound like its not speeding up.

  • as i said before this has not been sped up, i know its because i filmed it. anyone that has played the game or seen the games being played will now that this is not sped up.

  • another speed up check his clothing .. -.-"

  • Actually I go to super arcade / arcade infinity a lot near where I live and this is relatively common ( No I suck at this game, not trying to brag ). I've seen a guy incredibly pro before that just blitzed like a billion notes per second, it was incredibly crazy.

  • This is where superhumans are crafted.

    Well, super reflexes at least.

  • lol

  • like u have??? spending time behind the computer watching them is the same as playing that shit.

  • btw, i'm not watching them! i just hit this video by accident and saw it...

  • this is real ppl, go to any japanese arcade and the people there have INSANE reflexes/hand eye coordination

  • u see the guy walking over there...this video was not sped up!!!!

  • guitar hero aint got shit on this

  • woow . damn fast !

  • its not sped up they really where that fast.

  • the guys just jealous lol xD

  • theres a lot of noise at the

    japanese arcades.

i really wishh i could go to an

    arcade in tokyo, japan. :[

  • LMFAO WTF!!!! HAHAHAH

  • made by japan for japanese players o.O

the guitar one looks like dj max a lil

  • yeah, that's what I thought too, Guitar Max probably :p

  • Well they are the ones programming one of the bests games in the world right?

  • Then Guitar Hero would be skunk shit covered by horse shit filled with the flesh of Hitler.

    Set on fire.

  • best rhythm games (import) that came before US ripoffs:

    Guitar Freaks

    Drummania

    Pop'n Music

Beatmania IIDX, not the US release

    Pump It Up

    EZ2DJ

    and so on

    yeeuh!

  • only that rockband/guitarhero is famous because of the bands... if guitarfreaks have that kind of bands the guitarfreaks will be more famous than guitarhero and rockband

  • @djFrog11 : waht about Guitar hero and Rock Band? Theye are the world best music games!

  • hey, i played this game its way different from guitar hero or rock band, it goes freakin fast on the guitar, and the drums is too impossible, still its cool though. where did u see this at?

  • no idea now, it was just a random arcade, it could of been anywhere in ikebukuro (tokyo).

  • drums is possible many ppl are pro in that game...one of them is me :)

  • no wonder you dont get laid for even saying that -.-

  • Does this mean that everyone who enters an arcade in Japan is incredible?

  • well not everyone, i went into many arcades and im not incredible ;).

  • XDDDD I have a bunch of japanese games where I am from :3

  • The games are,

    DrumMania

    Guitar Freaks

They're made by Konami, haven't seen any in Britain, hope I do so I could show off my skills lol

  • DrumMania is in britain theres one on the pleasure beach in blankpool :P iv played it many times and i sux

  • k, thanks, I'm goin to Sancastle next week so wil go to Pleasure Beach then.

  • I noticed in japanese arcades the vast difference in game-types that they offered, compared to US arcades. US arcades have a lot of racing and shooting games, with only mainstream fighters and hardly ever any shmups. In japan it was mostly fighters and shmups with hardly any shooters or racers. Was really strange. My arcade gaming skills are pretty much limited to shooters, I found Silent Hill and I tore that up, used 2 guns, couple of japanese watched me, guess its not normal?

  • Japanese arcades, far as I remember, do have shooting games like HoD and Time Crisis. Also racing games, claw machines, music, and Purikura. And quite a few traditional joystick/buttons games.

  • Percusion Freak (series) -drum arcade

    Guitar Freak - guitar arcade

  • DrumMania, it's been called that since the V series.

  • i wanna try that drum game. i probably would suck enormous ass

  • if your in montreal, you can try it at la ronde, but i think its coming out on ps3 and xbox 360

  • actually i tried it in Las Vegas. and yup i do suck enormous ass. lol

  • lol, i know, i play drum and failed in like 2 seconds!

  • it's not coming out on PS3 and XBOX, you can buy the Japanese home release on PS2

  • me so asian it hard for me to see drums lol

  • crazyO_o? i dun c annythind unusual there ;/

  • I have to say, I had my doubts when I first played guitar freaks but I loved it. I don't care if anyone calls it a guitar hero rip off, it came out way before guitar hero did. But why did konami never release it here? It would have done so well. Now it has competition with guitar hero and rock band. Maybe it can still do well in arcades. I would pay to play it. Finally, GFDM has a more diverse playlist that GH which I thinks draws me to it more. I don't mind GH but GFDM needs to come to the US.

  • and the uk ;).

  • Japanese have all the fun games!!

Americans always have the shoot em up games

  • HEY I TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU FOR THE FIRST ONE BUT theres nothing wrong with shooting games...

  • o hellyeah i love shooting games

  • More arcades, less violence in the streets... Sorted! :D

Find alternatives to power up these places so to help maintain a stable world and we are good to go...

  • perfectperfectperfectperfectperfectperfectperfect

  • what is with japanese ppl and their fast games?its so awesome ^_^

  • umm that guitar looks very easy and it looks simular to the rock band setup

  • actually I've played that game before... It's way different than rock band.. well only the guitar

  • no one seems to realise that these were out way before GH/Rockband <.<

  • lol i was just thinking the same thing

  • Except that Guitar Freaks and DrumMania can make Rock Band and Guitar Hero look like a walk in the park. Try YouTubing other videos.

  • i play this game before here in philippines!! and i played GLAMOROUS SKY by MIKA NAKASHIMA.. thats my fave song!!

  • Back in the movie " Lost In Translation ", there was a scene where Bill M, and Scarlett, J went into this arcade, and there was a guy playing some sort of guitar type musical rythm game, and this was even before Guitar Hero 1 came along. What year was Lost In Translation anyway? Regardless, I think the U.S. has just now started to inherit a lot of the music rythm games that have been popular in Japan for years. Coin-Op Arcades are STRONG and profitable in Japan, compared to the poor U.S arcades.

  • that was one of the best bits of the film. i wasnt a big fan of the film as nothing really seems to happen in it, but because of that its great to watch when drunk :p.

  • Yea. definitely. For some reason, that movie has become a cult favorite for a lot of people. I am assuming due to the Japanese culture. I have to admit, if I had a chance to learn a second language and culture, it would be Japan, sooooo much to do there in the entertainment districts. But I would never be able to decipher all those squiglly lines for text. tree here. 5 headed stick man there, co-ed toilets.

  • the first game in that scene, the bongo drum one is taiko no tatsujin/taiko drum master.

second I saw was guitar freaks.

third one with the guy jumping around is pop'n music (one of my favorites)

there were lots of inconsistencies in that scene.

in taiko no tatsujin, when a blue note comes through, it makes the red note sound. guitar freaks, there were no chords, and honestly, nobody does that crap in pop'n music.

all the songs seemed exceedingly easy, too.

  • is that like asain rock band?

  • not really, where as rockband you all play together, these games you play different games (so the drum game is one and the guitar game is the other) if you see what i mean ;).

  • you can actually connect the 2 machines together and play like rock band, and the console releases were drummania+guitar freaks in the same game...

  • as far as i know no you could not.

they did have a slot for you ps1 memory card so you could unlock songs at home and then play them in the arcade (i know thats not waht you aksked about but its cool none the less ;)).

  • they do it at replay in the city (brisbane)

guitar freaks always came with 2 guitars for face-off and so when you connect the machines together, you can play just like rock band but without the singer, because guitarfreaks/drummania always had the same songs.

that's why some people call guitarfreaks/drummania sessionstream or bandjam.

  • No, the machines can link together. However, you can only link up when neither machine is in use, so you have to start a game together and finish together. In fact, earlier versions of Guitar Freaks/DrumMania were able to link a third machine, Keyboardmania for a 5-person "Super Session." Also, the memory card module was defunct for about 8 years...the "e-amusement" internet feature does all the unlocking instead. Some arcades don't choose to remove them, that's all.

  • and in most places too many dumbasses vandalize/get angry at machine/claim it has stolen their money when it is clearly 3 tokens not 2 thus kick the machine/destroy the machine or if not carelessly use the machine ruining the buttons and little kids who arent even really playing the game there just playing with the buttons or guns and ruining them. remember outdoor arcade games? like outside a grocery store? yea noticed you dont see those ne more? cuz ppl break them or try to steal the moneyinit

  • the reason our arcades dont have these cool games for long is because our teens and kids are so stupid we fuckin break everything!!!

  • i know it sucks :(.

  • This came before Guitar Hero and Rock Band, it's not a "mix of DDR and Rock Band".

Rock Band and Guitar Hero are so unoriginal it's stupid.

  • i agree with you this video is from 2006 lol

  • Games aren't even FUN for them, they just train and train until they are invincible

  • That's true. The most amazing thing I ever saw, was a Japanese playing beatmania on two boards at the same time at ultra speed and two different songs. Never saw something that crazy again. (Unfortunately I didn't have my camera. -_-)

  • epic

  • I've seen the drum kit part in an arcade here in the states 4 years ago. Never seen the guitar part. But for crissakes, for all that effort you could go out and learn to play the real damn thing.

  • Amen.

  • Well, actually, the "Expert" drum notecharts are exactly the same as if you were actually playing the song on a real set of drums, so it is pretty much teaching you how to play the real thing.

  • japan is the most awsome place i have ever been to

and i love th guys over there

they rock at all of this shiz

and have the greatest technology ever

  • Japanese people are not human. They are total robots.

  • they are better at that than my dad kyo

  • Commited

  • Lol that guy is awesome! Wow. They're otakus. Hahaha...geeks. :P

  • man Japan looks soo cool and they have great games and arcades... Japan a.k.a Gamer Central

  • itz rock band!!!!!!

  • No, much harder.

  • emokid94014 - it's not Rockband. Rockband is for softcore pussies. By the way, this game came out wayyyyyy before the US even heard about Guitar Hero. Japan technology is way ahead of the US by many years. Ever heard of Beatmania (the original) and Gitaroo Man? That's what started DDR, Guitar Hero, Rockband, etc..., all the physical games. US has alot of catching up to do.

  • ya this game has been out for awhile guitar revolution, actually guitar hero was made because of guitar revolution. this game system is a lot harder to play even though there s less buttons to push but the bars come down a lot faster than guitar hero. even still both games are freakin hard

  • ...It's actually called "Guiar Freaks" and "Drummania." Bu the rest of what you said was right.

  • cha, im going to japan when im older for sure now. :D

  • cool, you will love it, its such a great place.

  • i dont got enough money to get there buuuhuuuu!...... im just gonna eat bacon

  • Apparently you are, who fail to see the Greatness of the worlds second Largest economy and mistakes its people for idiotic...

    Imbecile!

  • i never said I hated japanese people! okii im ajapnese hello! i meant all the people who were dissing the japanese community! no hard feelings though

  • That and and crime rate isn't so high. :)

  • Gotta love the comments people leave about Guitar Hero being around for a bit, but not since 1999. GuitarFreaks & Drummania should be recognized and should be played by any GH or Rock Band Player that absolutely love those games. You'll notice how much harder it is. Not to mention if GH's been around for longer. Where the hell is its Arcade Cabinet? And I'm not counting the cheap Chinese one that China forged.

  • FREAKS!

  • holy shit!

  • Kids, the machine on the right.

    is the REAL Guitar Hero!

    i mean..FREAKS

now..Amerca just ruined the popularity of GuitarFreaks thanks to Hero.

  • They both are very good

  • Wow, the guitar player is playing on open pick which is tough! Good show! I can't wait till my arcade gets these games!

  • Nice Captivate Sabaki

  • although GF&DM have shorter tracks, they make up for them with wicked hard songs. THEY HAD BLOOD AND THUNDER BY MASTODON FOR CRYING OUT LOUD

  • Also FUDGING BLACK SLEEP BY SONATA ARCTICA.

  • are they humans? 0_0

  • no invadeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeers

  • we have that drums thing here in manila, havent tried it though but seems fun.

  • yyeaahh! lmao tried it. its in the SM mega mall right?? tried the one in cebu too x]

  • early rock band

  • evanessance song xD!

  • thats fuckin crazy not even i can do that
