can i ask you a qquestion? is the explorer bigger than an sg? i never hold one in my own hands ( very rare model in germany) most are cheap fakes from asia.

Depends on what you want in a gutiar. The Explorer is fashion over function. If you like the looks, then go for it - it just doesn't quite play as well as an SG or LP. LP is the best playing by far, but usually pretty heavy.
@DL390 i think the SG is the best Gibson makes, its light, all the frets are reachable with now problem unlike the LP, and it has a very fast neck, and its also very thin too.
@dal3fan88 Having played many SGs (I went in to buy an SG when I got my first LP), I ended up choosing the LP because I found it sounded better in ways that the SG just can't, and it fitted really well with my look and style.
Plus, if you're tall like me (6'3") then you really look stupid with an SG, 'cause they're so tiny.
It's got the most popular Marshall sounds built into it. So if you like a particular Marshall sound, this should have it. You know how it goes - try it before you buy it.
Only like the guitar. Though it's out of tune, and you missed many chords XD

@iamthecodofhalo1 It's not so much amp settings as it is amp and mic placement. Just tinker with mic placement and you'll get it.

@XCentrinofuchs Yeah, my advice is don't buy one of the fakes. Regardless of how much they seem like the real thing.
The X is a huge guitar, and the SG in comically small.
