@WarheartHC See the way the car "drifts" away from the apex? Yeah that's actually what "drift" means. What you guys call "drifting" is an AWD power slide. It's only the last ten years that all the sudden only "DRIFT" cars can drift. THERES NO SUCH THING!

Thats not a drift, thats oversteer, two different things. A drift the car slides to the edge of the track on full throttle, but it should not require opposite lock. If you listen Alonso had to lift.

@normanseno : No F1 driver would smile at such an occurance, I think you have drifting mixed up with road racing, two different techniques. F1 is about tenths of seconds, not losing time off throttle.

It's the utter lack of grip on that track. What a remarkable save. F1 cars are not supposed to drift like that.

For the gear heads out there, the limit of cohesion was reached, the car's weight jack shifted from the chicane, and it drifted.

Alonso's cat like reflexes, and a car that is probably being driven just under the edge and a little bit of the F1 Gods saved that car.

Singapore is not a forgiving place to make a mistake like that. Great Save!

@xBaphometHx No, it was understeer on turn in. What happens is you add steering input to counter the understeer then when the front end finally does grip, you lose the rear. Had it been oversteer on turn in, the slide would have happened much earlier.
