  • what pen is this please tell me anyone pleaseeeeeeee

  • Gah... I want that pen brush... it's better than the pentel one

  • @BinaryDood They are Pentel pens. The one that's got the frays on it is just modified to spread. I'm not sure how he did it, but it's just got pressure put on the sides like a fan brush.

  • @777Sir

it's completly diferent from my Pentel Pocket Pen Brush

  • @BinaryDood Pentel also makes a large brush, but that small one he's using is the pocket pen brush, it just might be a little older, or an Asian variety, but that's what it is.

  • Kind of annoyed that I didn't get to see how you did the puddle of blood though. So many things to learn!

  • Ooh, I want that frayed hatching brush/tool. Handeee! Gotta search for it now.

  • wow great work

    by the way

    what the song's name?

  • definitely one of my favorite illustrators. don't know if i like the drawing or the fact that there was no smudge at all while doing this.

  • @Koonnga see my comment below for each pen and then thumbs it up.

  • @josephknightcom Apparently the comment is deleted... Could you please repeat?

  • what is that bristly pen thing at 2:52 called?

  • yo where can i learn to draw like that cus i draw good but wen it comes to details ..well i suk

  • @TheDoodlerR practice...

  • MOJO JOJO!!!!!;D

  • the way he handles glass and liquids is fucking fantastic. go on his site and look at all his drawings with bottles in them. impeccable delivery.

  • Munkeyyy....

  • If you look closely at the first time he uses that hatching brush and at 4:40 when you see a shot of his whole drafting board - you'll be able to tell that the hatching brush is a modified sharpie.

  • @bluebluechan nope I don't think so.

  • amazing artist, and amazing pens!!!

  • And If anyone can help me figure out what type pens these are? Cause I like the one used for the fine hatching, the one that almost looks like a brushed thats been cut at the ends?? and the ones that are like, fine point, AND brush pen. I want to use these in my work as well. Thanks!

  • Can anyone PLEASE list me some more artist (older to modern) that do the whole pen and ink/ hatching? Cause that is ALL I do, and I seriously want to see this style ALOT more in people's art. I love this guy.

  • awsome video. N8 is the god of ink...... If u like this shit, check out the artist, Alex Pardee. Both of these guys are posessed by the demon of art. Nates artwork is often featured in Juxtapoz magazine, probably the sickest lowbrow mag out there.

  • I got some pens like this but the flow of the ink is no where near as solid as his, i can draw thin and thick lines but they creak it so easily, anyone have any ideas?

  • @kkadz break up***

  • What an amazing artist!!! It is amazing to see that some people still draw with skill and not use the computer to cheat. Look at that line work simply amazing I am blown away keep up the great work...and keep up the great traditional skills going because in my book all computer artist suck!!!

  • @wcbombers21 Computers are a tool. Like this guy's pens.

  • ok so i know the smaller pens are pilot brush pens but what is the larger one that he uses for shading? if you know, hit me up.

  • @TheFlightOfMurphy from what i see he uses a pentel brush-pen to do his lines, a large "damaged" brush and a black ballpoint pen for shading...

  • stunning work

  • pfft... i can do that..............

  • 声が出ない・・・ すげえ。

  • Calm down, people - these pens don't make you draw this fast.

  • @toonietoonz somehow there is this delusion going around that the materials are doing the drawing on this video and not nate...

  • @toonietoonz No, but I can tell you Hi-Tec-Cs are the greatest pens in the world. You can pick them up as "G-Tec-Cs" in America (Stupid name change if you ask me).

  • i just killed a old pental brush pen ........it now works a treat for doing hair etc.

  • The hairbrush is a Pentel FP6L which I think is discontinued, digits in name may vary with brush size, and can be assumed to be an forecomer to the Pentel standard brush pen which should act as an good replacement. The one pictured has a brown cap and it is likely that the same color code applies with the new ones in regards to brush size. It may have some kind of (rubber?)hood over it, flattening it and restricting the flow, and possibly some extra hair (probably not). Anyway, thats it.

  • Saying this to help people: the felt tip brush pens are Uni-ball ones (double sided fine & medium, and one fine and one medium), called like 777sir said pocket brush pens - so probably just confusing the make (or its just a general term, in any case..) and otherwise right on the super fine Pentel standard etc.

  • he should water color after and give some awesome color to his amazing inking skills

  • Pens: Pentel brush pen (light blue cap is the fine tip), Pentel pocket brush pen, Pilot Hi-Tec-C.

The hair one appears to be a modified Pentel Brush Pen.

  • you forgot to name that he used too pilot brush pen (the one at 1:30) he used it a lot, I´d say more than pentel brush pens.

  • Does any one have any idea what kinf of pen he's using.

Also, Mad: Vid, Artist, Image :)

  • ur lines are so awesome man

  • this mans my fucking hero <3

  • this rocks

    fuck anime

  • wow u make sense retard

  • @poiu3456789 wats wrong with anime . .. if u talking bout the style in which its created which is animation

    they got skill too

  • i like that dubstep track in the first part

  • That pen/marker thing is so fucking awesome, I've never seen one like that before.

  • Amazing work!! wowwies

  • Thanks for posting!

  • it's not a the black pentel pen. though i think it's still pentel, it's one of the color brush pens with grey ink. they're a lot fatter and the hendle is where you squish the ink out. they're pretty cool.

  • Excellent work as always N8. Was super stoked to stumble up on this vid... Cheers

  • This is the best demo video I have seen so far on Youtube... I am thoroughly inspired!!!!!

5 Stars and a bag of kettle korn!!!

The Howto & Style video Wars have begun!!!!

  • Crazy awesome!

  • great work! you are one of my favorites

  • I think this might be one of the more if not most helpful vid for people trying to figure out how to develope a style or wondering how to work with ink

  • does anyone know what brush the guys using at 1:37?

  • pentel colour brush pen in black. he has modified it with a larger handle probably because he isnt comfortable with the barrel itself. hes also modified the tip to be flat n wide.. not sure how he did that but i know thats definately the pen hes using there, i own a few mizelf. bout £4 ea

  • thanks man

  • @kkadz NOPE!! IT´S PILOT BRUSH PEN! no pentel!!!

I have 4 of pilot brush pens in here right beside me I know what im talking about!

  • Cool topic, artists are such pacifists :D

  • Interesting tecnique.

  • Superb technique and control. Excellent piece.

  • Neat! Now I know where to get a cool hat.... thanks!

  • I think he is using hi-tec-c's He mentions using them in his video where he and Coro provide commentary.

  • Anyone know that tool he's using at 1:40?

  • I need to get some of those pens... lol This is amazing, just amazing.

  • Wow, that was awesome!

  • Is this the guy that draws hell boy?

  • nope the writter of hellboy Mike Mignola is the artist too

  • my God This is incredible.

Ik its never the brush, pencil or paper that make the art. (The artist does!!!) But what are those pens?! Lines thin to bold. I gotta know.

  • yeah i was wondering the same thing. The shape of the marker allows u to accent the lines in different ways. Can someone tell us what kind of pens he is using? I would like to get some....

  • nvm, they are just regular artist pens. Google them or look up on ebay. They usually come in a set of like 4 with super thin small medium and wide tips.

  • pretty damn badass

  • awesome

thanks for putting up the vid nate is my favorite 2d artist

  • better than craig mullins?
