Bing was the No1 singer in the late 20's and early 30's and then Sinatra came along and was the first singer that the girls screamed for, so there was a rivalry between the two.
@Serenamcflyfan I think it is refering to Bing being part of the old school and Frank being the next generation of singer. I may be wrong but that is how I understand it and it amuses me.
i am just sick of these untalented autotuned rappers singing (if you can call it that) about their whores and their money. the world needs to wake up and realize what real music sounds like.
they didnt hate eachother really, the big thing that came between them in their friendship was that when bing was alive he was a big republican and frank was a democrat so frank got angry when bing invited JFK to stay at his house while he was in cali. Then frank saw the error of his politics ways for when he endorsed nixon and was a republican forever after including his big endorsement for reagan <333
Ol' Blue eyes was angry when he had done so much for the JFK campaign, and JFK originally intended to stay at Sinatra's place. But he was talked out of it by his advisors, including his brother Bobby because of Sinatra's alleged Mafia connections. So JFK wound up staying at the Crosby estate, even though Bing was a Republican. Frank didn't necessarily see "error of this politics" - he saw that there was no such thing as loyalty in the Kennedy camp. Sammy Davis, Jr found out the same thing.
Bing's voice makes me swoon in this...

one of my favorite performances ever... hearing these 2 legends together.
2 other fun videos are Frank singing with Elvis, and Frank, Dean, and Bing singing together.

This might my favorite duet...it's charming, delightful, funny, musical, fun and the scene wherein Sinatra clearly takes the lead b-b-b-b-Bing...

Anything written by Cole Porter is tops in my book! Frank and Bing did a good job on this, although they detested each other!

It is not an 'error' if you endorse a democrat! Not everybody in this world is as right-wing as many americans are!!!
