I liked this movie when i was a kid but now I can appreciate it even more as a young adult especially the musicality of it all my being in college for music and all.
me "mufasa get up, please get up. Why don't you get up" :'(. Scar "he his dead" me "no he can't be dead he is mufasa he can not be dead" me cryin "whyyy whyyy did he die" :'---(
I hate that no matter how many times I see this scene, and that I know what is going to happen, I can't help but come close to crying when Mufasa dies :'(
@slyrocks3 that's cause Voldemort has no redeeming qualities. At least Scar gets a pass because of being such a cool, suave motherfucker that you can't possibly hate him. Voldemort's just 100% monster
honestly, I DID ACTUALLY cry when I first saw this film, LION KING <3 at the age of 5. It a shame these days "disneys" (or whatever they are now) dont hold the same feelings and emotions ;(
das ist so traurig.es errinert mich an früher.als ich noch klein war.und ich weine heute noch.ich hoffe der könig der löwen stirbt niemals in unseren herzen...er hat mir so viel beigebracht
@ReighnDrac There are a couple of scores on the released soundtrack, including this one, but it's a little bit different (doesn't match) I believe this was a bootleg download. They never officially released a complete score, so the complete score that I have is lower quality than the official release.
I think cartoons now a days are getting too over protective. They can have no swearing, no violence, no death..
I was very little when I watched the Lion King. I watched Mufasa die and the sadness of this scene. And I didn't grow up to be all messed up =P We can't shield kids from EVERYTHING, and we're not supposed to.
@zenniahelles I agree. Movies like this taught us how to handle death, brought families together, and actually taught us things. Shows nowadays... they just rot the mind (which is ironic because that's what our parents used to tell us if we watched too much tv-- nowadays it's true). I wish that for just one year, even a month, they would rerun the good shows and movies, bring back the good days.
When I was a kid, (kid meaning 7 and under) this scene would make my heart race, and my jaw would be left ajar occasionally.
Sadly, while I now see more of the desperation in this scene, I've seen it so many times that it doesn't make that big of an impact on me... maybe if I don't watch it for a while the inspiration will come back.
Agree completely. I really wish I could see this movie for the first time at this age, now that I could really grasp the heart wrenching and beautiful scenes. If that makes sense ahah.
Omg i always cry at the time around 4:43 its so sad! Hes all alone and his dad just died =(... best disney film ever though - you've got to love the classics =)
