Spearfishing is basically just killing those fish. Try to practice some sportsmanship like Fish&Release.

@dominictsk spearfishing is a selective sport so we can decide what we will shoot before killing the fish, we do practice catch and release with all of our fishing trips and none of the fish that we keep by fishing or spearfishing ever goes to waste.

@dominictsk Studies have shown that a lot of fish die when released by line fisherman, so even though the "sport"of catch and release seems like it has a positive outcome all the time it doesn't. 99.9% of spearos eat what they shoot, me included. It has less environmental impacts than line fishing and we in general have a greater understanding of how the ocean works and whether fish numbers are up or down. Finally i have never taken any maximum bag limits and many spearos do the same as i do.

Some good catches ,, however,, did you really have to kill the fish and make them bleed,, you could have just put them back,, for instence the shark bled to death,, its rare to find a shark around those parts,, and...you killed it,, bravo.

@RideMyYoshi247 we do practice catch and release, the fish from the pictures were caught over a period of 3 years and none of the fish that we kept ever went to waste, we as recreational anglers contribute a very, very small percentage of the destruction of fish stocks compared to the asian and european commercial and longline fishing fleets that plunder the oceans legally and illegally.

id like to watch and laugh at you trying to do what we do.

commercial fishing in the emirates is done by mile long gill nets that kill entire shoals of juvenile fish and by wire death trap cages that when lost, continue to kill hundreds of fish for months. despite this, im sure the very selective spearfisherman like ourselvs will get the blame when the fish stocks plumit.

All the fish and Sharks in this video are sold and nothing goes to waste. Here in the UAE fish is a food source for Indians, Pakistanis, filipinos nd a lot of the english community. So these boys are providing a service and I commend them on that. By the way boys, nice pic of Allan. I was with him that day, the water burst to life and we had a double hook up on fly, but one got away. I was the skipper that day.

Also what type of lures and what color. And would you know of any good fishing spots in ras al khaimah by any chance?

Thanks for the comment, we have many places we work for our fish, from 15 to 60 miles offshore. Most fish are caught on deep trawled lures as well as a few more succesfull methods...
