I personally videotaped the remnants of a car that was struck by twin engines ( no cars) doing 44 mph, that killed a guy in his vehicle. The point of impact was directly above the front wheel, driver side. This train could not have been going that fast, or the damage would be much, much worse.

Dumb driver is lucky -- On this line, through town at least, they only travel around 50-60km/h max; for the most part i believe this is because of generally poor track conditions.

Hopefully the iditot will think twice about running a crossing in the future. It's not like it was one of the 100+ car trains that run on the mainland, or even one of the long trains that used to go to Port Alberni. It was a one car train. It would take what, 30 seconds for it to clear the crossing? This person couldn't be bothered to wait that long?

hahaha, thats ssssssooooo funny, judging from how far the train stopped from the crossing, he has to put it into emergancy stop after he hits, form were he is at he was doing atleast 10 mph, possibly 15 at the most. man oh man that has to be the dumbest person to date.

the train didnt hit the car, the retard went out in front of it. the train is on a track, it cant swerve out of the way. being a train engineer this happens to me atleast 2 times a year. the people can now come after the railroad and even slap a suite on us train crew members.
