Who's the guitarist here? Looks like Chris Hillman, hair and posture-wise, but I'd think he would've dressed up more for the occasion. Be more like Bernie Leadon to wear a baseball T! Rest of band lloks to be same as in the great Rockpalast show - Andrew Gold, Mike Botts, Kenny Edwards (new haircut!) and Dan Dugmore.
I believe that it was the first (of seven) time that I saw her, circa 1971, she was wearing "Daisy Dukes," with about five pounds of metal studs attached thereto.
I'd say her voice really took to it's stride in 1987. This was the period just after the standards and going in to Trio, Canciones de mi padre and Cry Like a Rainstorm. From these three records, she effortlessly fused prior inspiration.
My favorite period for her voice was 1973-77--"Don't Cry Now" through "Simple Dreams" when she was a great, natural singer. Starting with "Living in the USA," I thought she started to sound more mannered, like she was thinking a little too hard, even if she was "technically" a better singer. I hope someday she will release the small combo album she did with legendary producer Jerry Wexler but shelved. Now that Jerry is gone, it would be wonderful to hear their work together.
Wow !!! B-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l!!!!!!! yeah! you notice that she made a couple of mistakes...but she gives such feeling when she sings!!!!!!!!!!!! my god she can make all the mistakes she wants as long as the feeling always appears as honest as she performed it here!!! Bravo Linda!! A NATURAL TALENT INDEED!!!!!
She claims when she did Piarates (ca. 1980). She took serious voice lessons at that time. But her voice certainly sounds beautiful long before that--it's just her natural talent.

Wonderful performance for a time when America needed Carter to help return and heal our nation.

Funny to see Linda wearing so much makeup for TV, hair all curled, but still in her jeans and Daisy Mae top, bless her heart.

When Linda was asked to perform she asked if she could perform in jeans. They obviously said said yes.
