Sailing North Wind is a great way to spend your time. I have enjoyed it now for some time, and think that is an excellent boat. I am planning on sailing it one more time before winter comes. If you have any questions when putting it together, i will be more than happy to answer you. Have fun with your new boat.
i still can't adjust the rudder good enough....i'm not able to turn into the wind......it's like the rudder doesn't turn enough......anyway....o so a few days ago i wuz @ my grandparents house and my grandpa gave me this r/c glider th@ wuz sitting in his basement.....the prob is it's 1 of those balsa wood models....and i'vr nvr built 1 of those b4.....i havn't started it yet cuz i need 2 go and buy the glue.....well cya l8r
ya....i didn't get to use my northwind much at all this summer....there was one day of really good wind, but....i didn't bring my camera....which was bad cuz my boat was really moving and it was heeling alot....but now i'm back in school so i don't have much time at all....
Did you sail your North wind this summer? I've been quite busy, but I am planning to get mine out this weekend. I hope you are still interested sailing yours.
Most parts are plastic on the boat, but really that hasn't been a problem as far as a performance goes. The way the boat is designed, it gives you a lot of place for modification, so I am sure you can add to it custom made parts. By the way, I do like building airplanes and right now I am on the middle of a project. On the web site are some of the pictures I took from an airshow in Pittsburgh this summer.
ok....ya o i'm done building it....i just have 2 put on the remaining decals and finish the radio equipment....but yah....the wrst part 4 me was probably the rigging...anyway i'm hoping to use it tomorrow 4 the 1st time......
Hey, I am really happy there is someone else that is interested sailing North Wind. Yes, in general the boat is easy to assemble. The directions are accurate and easy to follow. There are some spare parts included. I put the boat together for about 4 days. Once you put it together you will really enjoy sailing it. If you have any other questions please reply, I will be happy to share my experince with you.
Thank you very much, now is ther any gluing that has to be done? if so is it included in the kit? I'm looking forward 2 sailing this boat...it is my first and it seems 2 be pretty good for the price. Thanx again
Hi again, I was surprised to find out that the kit comes with all building materials. There is some gluing to be done, but it is all included. There are also several different types of masking tape that is used. Most parts however are attached with screws or little bolts, which are really easy to work with. I also liked the price, but in addition you will have to buy the remote control separately. I used the cheapest radio that I found and it is working just fine.
why would u waste ur money on this..my formula fastech was just as much $ and can go 30mph
