Well i had a hamster, his name was Shadow. During his life he suffured a LOT! I accidently vaccumed him, he fell of the balcony and some how got into the microwave.
I got my chocolate lab named Choco at the post office when i was 7. The breeder also worked for the post office so we met up there and he let me take her home in a post office box.
Since you asked haha I have two rabbits. I have seven videos on my youtube account I believe and at least three of them feature at least one rabbit =] they're very sweet indoor dwarf bunnies. Have a looksee if you feel like it =]
Hey! I have had two dogs and now I have a cat and I don't think I can say if I'm a cat or a dog person. One of my dogs really small and smart. He used to pretend he was mean and run after me and my sister, barking, but it was just for fun, because he enjoyed chasing us and then running away from us. The other one was really sweet and loved the sea, he once dived into the docks of the town we lived in, leash and all. Curiously, my cat can play fetch, but my dogs didn't :P
I've got an almost five year old dog and a 10 month old kitten (both male) who get along great. The dog would never chase or bark at cats. But the kitten got bullied by the other neighbourhood cats so the dog would run out chase them away. He also lets the kitten wrestle with him and catch his wagging tail and in turn the kitten grooms and cuddles up to him. I feel lucky to have such great pets :)
did you just say that dogs are your favorite animal after orca whales!? Did I just stumble upon this video and hear you say that?!?! I think I am in love. Orcas are AWESOME and so are dogs! My heart actually skipped a beat just now. lol
I love dogs! :) We got Toblerone (Toby for short) after our dog, Tramp, of 11 years passed away. He has been my best buddy ever since the night that we picked him up! He is a very intelligent terrier mix who enjoys walking on the treadmill. One of his funniest moments was when my parents came home to realize he had taken all of the potatoes out of the pantry because he thought they were to play with. He's a snuggler. He spends every morning I am home asleep on my feet.
I prefer cats because when I was younger I got attacked by two dogs on the beach. I don't mind being around dogs anymore but I still prefer cats. My brother on the other hand hates dogs.
I have a rabbit called Sooty She's black and white and although the pet shop people said she would be a mini lop eared rabbit, she's actually pretty huge! Like maybe a bit bigger than a kitten. I love her to bits!
Our dog died last Christmas, she was an English Springer Spaniel (completely stupid) and we loved her dearly. My parents say they don't think they'll get another one until my dad retires though.. and that could be about 4 years! :(
I had a black lab when I was younger, I named her Ariel after the Little Mermaid (I was 4 when we got her) and I loved her sooo much. She died a couple of years ago, unfortunately and we haven't got another dog but I really want to get a couple.
I prefer cats mainly because they are typically smaller and require less attention and maintenance. Also cats have softer bodies so its easier to cuddle with them.
That being said, I do love the dog that we have so much. She is adorable and very sweet.
I have cats, and never really had a dog - but I do love them equally! Cats are easier, I guess to have since they look after themselves a lot more, but I really want to get a dog at some point; I have a dream to own a pug and I shall call him Barnaby.
I have an Australian cattle dog named Daisy. All she does is run around and lick you until you feel like you were just drowned by Shamoo if he had opposable thumbs and a deep hatred for humans.
i have a dog named rascal. he is a basset hound and black lab mix. he looks a little funny because he has a large lab head, a small basset hound body, and large lab paws. rascal is not that smart and even though he is now around 7 or 8 years old, he acts like he is still a puppy. it is really funny to watch him sleep, because he always sleeps on his back with his paws in the air and his tongue hanging out of his mouth.
I have 3 dogs: a maltese,Cocoa, who is 13 years old, a German shepherd mix, Mowgli, who is a year and a half, and a golden retriever, Zoe, is a year old. I got Cocoa for my 7th birthday. Last Spring I went to a pet store with my friend and we made the mistake of going to look at the puppies. Zoe was the oldest one there and they told me she had a previous owner who had returned her. She was even on sale haha! She was the sweetest thing I had ever seen so I couldn't leave the store without her :)
I had a rabbit (Hoppel, typical german rabbit name) for a very long time, but in 2004 we had to sent him to sleep, because he had a terrible cancer tumor and suffered a lot.I was very sad at this moment and I'm not sure,if I will have a pet again, because some day it will die and I will be sad.Maybe if I will have my own little family,we will have one for the kid(s) - I'm only 23, so that are still very vague plans. But until then you know that an unsteady students life is not made for keeping a pet.
I LOOOOOVE DOGs kaley, but I also LOOOOOOOOOVE cats, dogs are great, but cats are affectionate, and independent and curious which is why I adore them soooo much, but dogs are cool xxxxxxxxxx i have thrre cats, and a dog, and i love them both to
I like both dogs and cats. I had a dog named Lucky from when I was in first grade until he passed away during my second year of college. He wasn't the brightest dog but I loved him anyway. My mom said I couldn't have any more pets after that until I moved out but we just got a kitten three days ago and her name is Callie. She is the most adorable thing ever. Once I finally do move out I'll be able to get a dog again as well as having Callie and maybe another cat.
I have a dog who is (I think) 5 years old. We named her Lilo. Yes, after Lilo and Stitch. She, too, is dumb, but she's the cutest little thing ever, so we forgive her.
I'm totally a cat person, but I do like dogs. My kitty's name is Maggie (but I call her Magpie). I got her my freshman year of high school. She was just a stray that was creepin' around in my backyard and I went outside to see if she would come to me and she, like, bolted in my direction and put her paws on my hand and started licking them. She then abruptly stopped, walked through my open door into my house and never left.
When my dog, Tia, was just a little puppy she sat one people's heads because she was so small. She'd just crawl up onto our shoulders while we were watching T.V. and jump onto our heads. It was strangely comfortable having her on my head. :)
I have two collies but for christmas we also have my gran's dog staying with us. She's a springer spaniel, so cute, but stupid and fell in our pond yesterday... xD
I have two dogs, Tilly who is 2 and Tessa who is 1. I love them very much. My dog, Milly who I loved with all my heart died in June. She was put down in my arms and we only found out she was ill that morning.. R.I.P Milly xx But anyway, Tessa and Tilly go to sleep on top of each other :)
my dog's name is Corona and she's a golden retriever. She's six years old, but she acts like she's an old woman and has since forever. She's huge, but wishes she was a lap dog, i.e. insists on sitting on us whenever she can, will only let herself be washed in the bathtub, rather than by hose, etc. Also she's scared of everything under the sun, including men wearing hats and paper. But I love her anyway :)
My dad had a labrador called Cindy, and she once killed a really poisonous snake that was in our backyard (for context, we live in Australia) and she ended up getting bitten and having a stroke from the venom. She was ok a few days later and if she hadn't of taken on the snake it would've gotten me and my sisters because we went into the backyard about 2 minutes after. Unfortunately she was stolen about 3/4 years ago while the family was out :( but currently there are 10 pets living on my prope
I haven't any pets any more but we've had 4 cats, 3 hamsters, a mouse and fish. I adored my cats and I was so sorry to lose them :( I am definitely a cat person, really dislike dogs, but my brother's dog- maisie the scottish terrier - is staying with us this Christmas, so perhaps she'll change my mind about dogs.
Dogs and I just do not get on, I say dogs, I mean all animals.
I have a cat, we have a sort of mutual respect thing going, I feed him most days, he claws me I shout at him. We have an understanding like that.
But I could see myself getting close to a dog, i just probably wont. I had a minor phobia as a child which I grew out of, but im still weary of dogs, still dislike them, oh well, a psychologist might relate that to my hatred of physical contact ... shut up dom I can hear you from here.
Your dogs are ADORABLE! My family just got a Jack Russell puppy (I think my mum is getting empty nest syndrome already, my sister will be moving out in just over a year...) and she is so gorgeous and such a joy to be around. Dogs are definitely more emotionally rewarding than cats imo.
we got the rabbits when i was three, they were my sisters and i was not bothered by them at all, they lived for ages
however, my rats did not live long. One got a tumer, which we spent £200 to get removed, it them died the next week. The other one died on Easter Sunday, i have no idea why.
I don't really like dogs because they jump on me, and I don't really like cats because one woke me up by sitting on my face once, so I have two bunny rabbits :)
I agree, I love dogs. I used to have one, I have a cat but he's different than most cats, he is a lover and I think it's because he grew up with my dog and has a lot of dog-like tendencies. But yeah, as much as I love my cat, I'm a dog person through and through.
When I was little our family had an outside cat, Chee-chaw, she was so cute and drooled all over whenever someone petted her :) One day she went missing, but about a year and half later, while my family was playing baseball outside, she came running up from the woods to us! She was missing half her tail, but still loved us! It was a Homeward Bound moment. :)
Before I was born, my parents and sister had a dog called Chascon. (matted/tangled in chilean-spanish) I don't know his breed but my parents tell me he was such a lovely dog. One day a gypsy was outside the gate of my house and my dad didn't wanted to let her in, so she climb the gate, my dad let go of the dog because she wasn't aloud to do that. The dog bite her skirt and she said she was going to curse my dog for doing that. 3 months later, Chascon suffered a stomach infection and passed away.
My doggy is a Samoyed (like a bigger American Eskimo) and he's my baby. He's almost 12 (though doesn't act it at all) and at the beginning of this year I started taking him to visit a rest home once a week. The residents adore him and he gets so excited when I get his "work" bandana out of the cupboard. I have a horse too (a pinto), since July, and he's wonderful. He likes to test new people and see what he can get away with, but once he figures out you aren't ignorant he's perfect.
I've got three cats and one dog - I love my cats but I'm probably more of a dog person. My oldest cat is quite special as he went missing in 2008 and we eventually decided he had most likely died, but two years later an ad on a lost and found pet website (I had a search going I didn't have the heart to turn off) brought him home to us. :) He's now 15 and despite his "OE" is not doing too bad nowadays.
I can see why cat people HATE dogs. I'm starting to become one. Dogs are SO needy and are LOUD when they aren't being played with, pet, or sleeping. Maybe it's just my neurotic dog that needs to be put out of his misery for his sake, he feels a lot of pain.
i figured instead of pictures I could show you a video of my pets. My cat is mean and my dog thinks he is just playing.. :P
it takes a second to start because the camera freaks Oliver (the cat) out and Preston (the diggy) is super A.D.D so I tend to have to just turn the camera on and set it down to film them. I also figured it added suspense.. :P
I'm such a dog person. My one dog barks so much sometimes I wish he didn't have vocal chords and the other one is a bit of a whore; he always gets in your face and if he could talk the only three words he would ever say would be "LOOK AT ME!" but they are the sweetest dogs in the whole world and I wouldn't trade them or my doh-haired filled clothes for anything.
We have two dogs named Peanut and Leo. Peanut is a pomchi (pomeranian chihuahua mix) and definitely the boss. Leo is a powder puff chinese crested. Think the previous world's ugliest dog but with puffy fur and not so ugly. :-)
They are rescued from the same home and are stuck to us like glue. They try to share our pillows every night.
Do you remember the show Maisy about that one mouse...? I think it was on Nick Jr. or something. Anyways, we have a beautiful Bichon named Daisy, I've had her for about 8 years now. We sing to her the Maisy theme song all the time, with altered lyrics of course. She is like the love of my life, my soul-sister. Freaking love my dog.
Your dogs are awesome :) Aww, my Beagle, Buddy is turning 13 soon. I love him. He is a snuggly brat-face. When he's alone in the house (or thinks he is) he climbs to the top of the stairs and howls like a drunken sailor or some sort of Blues musician. You can hear him from outside. He also mimics siren wails. <3
My cat has asthma, and she has her own little inhaler that she has to use once every other day. That's squeeworthy.
My nan (famous for her uncanny ability to call stray animals to live with her) had a cat called Bilbo who was struck by lightning. It was curled up in the outhouse at the bottom of their garden next to some metal guttering, and the poor thing was zapped. You could hear the yowls at the other end of the street. Miraculously enough, he survived, but he was slightly singed.
Your dogs are so cute!!! I love both cats and dogs. I would say I am more of a cat person but I still think dogs are great and super adorable. I hate all this constant cats vs dogs charade that many people seem to get caught up in. Can't we just love them all? I also hate when people try to say cats have no character or don't care about their owners... they obviously haven't spent any quality time with a cat!
All animals have love to share, you just need to coax it out :)
I took my dog for a walk on the trail the other day and he randomly just pounced on something. He stood there wagging his tail, looking at me expectantly when I realized that he had just killed a mouse. It was even sticking out of his mouth. . . It took me and my Dad five minutes of standing out in the front yard waving treats in his face to get him to drop it.
Ugh. He's a corgi mix by the way. We rescued him so we're not sure what other breed he is. We suspect he's a corgi shepherd, though.
we just got a puppy yesterday. so far the has slept a lot and ignored our other slightly demented dog. but all is peaceful in the land of dog relations.
I don't have any great stories off the top of my head but I will introduce you to my pets.
When I was little I grew up with chickens, rabbits, dogs, and cats galore. It was really fun and lovely to have so many animals. Now I have two cats and a dog. The dog, Java, is a chocolate lab. She is 12 years old and an incredibly intelligent and lovely dog. The cats are temperamental but one of them is particularly stupid and provides a lot of entertainment around the house.
I have a ginger toy poodle called bruno who I got at the beginning of last summer (so that I could raise and train him) and jeese I love him to peices, yeh he's irritating at times but when he's cuddles me...naww. We also have a black cockapoo called aflie who acts like an old man even though he's only just 3 - he's even greying!
Until a few months ago we had an ENORMOUS Gordon Setter and when I was about 7 I was at school which is in the park which is at the end of my road, it was break time and I was playing on the school field , and our dog was being walked by a family friend in the park, and the school had left the gate open. My dog heard my voice, he came bounding through the school gate onto the field and terrified all these mini children and i just stood there and stroked him . Everyone was amazed/terrified.
Hah, I love cats and hate dogs. I'm honestly terrified of most dogs. Sadly I have no pets but I've pretty much been counting down the years since I was a little kid to when I'll have my own place and be able to get a cat. :P
My dog is a black lab (so original i know) and she is two. She is adorable and loves to sniff everything. Once upon a time she fit in my lap and thinks she still can but she can't cause she is now 80lbs. Still cute though. Your dogs are so sweet!
My dog is a red bone coon hound/golden retriever mix. All she does is sleep. We rescued her when she was a puppy and before that she was abused. Due to that she is now afraid of men. I also have two cats who are both stupid and fat.
When my old dog was 7, she got hit by a car and broke her hip and her leg wasn't right since then. By the time she was twelve, she could barely walk so my parents put her down while my sister and I were at school and they didn't tell us until after.
I'm a cat person mostly. Whether I like a dog or not is very dependent on the dog, I am quite fond of big fuzzy dogs.
I have two cats. A big fat ginger who's actually on a diet at the moment because he's been trying to be a bit too much like Garfield and over eat constantly. And I have a thin white kitty who's really lovely and adorable but should be a lot bigger and fluffier and less of a scaredy cat.
I also have a german shepherd who still tries to sit on me and is completely crazy, he broke his leg when he was a puppy and because it cost thousands of pounds to fix we had to sell a car but he's completely worth it :)
I've always wanted a dog, every since I could talk I'm sure I was pestering my parents to get one. At Christmas 2004 they asked me and my brother if we wanted to go abroad on vacation or get a dog, anddddd yeah. He's a small standard poodle, he's 8 and moving away from him for uni breaks my heart since one of the reasons I took a ~sabbatical~ was to spend time with him rofl. But I'll suck it up.
I will always resent my mother for never actually keeping her promise of getting me a dog. It breaks my heart when I see families with the dogs that they've had their whole lives and then there is me with no dog or siblings to keep me company.
When she was a kitten, my cat used to get really sleepy at 11 every single night, so I'd have to carry her to bed or she'd start crying. Now she chirps and stabs my butt before she jumps into my lap or she waits on my bed for me. She loves bubbles and toast. My aunt's cat opens butter and spinach containers by flipping the lids off with her teeth. We keep the cat food in the butter containers and she just loves spinach.
I totally agree with you about dogs, I don't get 'cat people' either :) My family have a 6 month old chocolate Labrador (with some Weimarnarer in him somewhere along the line, judging by the size of his ears) who is awesome but also kind of hyper and a total kleptomaniac. He still tries to climb on my lap as if he's still a tiny puppy as well which is pretty funny XD
Sorry, certified cat person here. Dogs are too needy for me, i could never give one the attention and sheer emotional input they require. It would exhaust me and make me miserable.
I prefer Cats because for the most part they're pretty independent and self-reliant but aren't above just chillin' on the sofa and watching TV.
@StripyTie12 It depends on the breed you got, they're not all like labradors or golden retrievers, who require a lot of affection. Breeds like huskies are more aloof and independent.
@freakishlypeculiar Well i'm only twenty so no, i don't know, i try not to make plans. Depends what happens and if i meet someone who wants them.
You can be a dog person and still not want kids (like Kayley for example) i don't think you can really compare animals and children. One's a furry thing that sleeps at the end of your bed and the other's an actual human infant lulz.
@StripyTie12 I know. I wasn't bashing you or anything. I just mean because you said dogs are way too dependent along with other things. Well, I just mean because children are very dependent as well, so I was just wondering. I think in many ways, animals and people are alike. Only difference is dogs pretty much stay like children and humans can actually grow up and change. I treat all animals as I would a human. They deserve it just as much as anyone else.
@StripyTie12 Birthdays are acknowledged and if I actually had an animal, they would be receiving gifts from their own stockings as well. That's really just me though.. I am a strong believer that they deserve the same things as everyone else. All animals, not just dogs. A dog however, would be appreciative of a doggy treat in it's stocking. They get equally excited. They are more loyal than people and love unconditionally too so.
Years and years ago my nan had a cat, and one winter she was driving home and found it laying dead outside in the snow =[ she buried it and made it a nice little grave in the back garden.
Everyone was sad.
A few days later as she was cooking the same cat jumped on to the counter and my nan freaked out because the cat was supposed to be dead.
Turns out she found and buried a different but similar cat and hers was just out for a walk.
When I was 7 mum got me a hamster and one of those cages with metal bars for it. I would play with it and have it climb around on all my stuff. But the funny part was, the hamster didn't like being in it's cage, so it would literally bend the metal bars and escape on a regular basis. It was like a cartoon where you see a hole in the metal bars where the thing escaped.
I thought you were pretty cool, then you said you like dogs better than cats and wonder why anyone would want a cat over a dog. Now to me your are FRICKEN AWESOME! DFTBA to you!
My family has a two year old Pointer/Heeler mix. She's very cute, loves to run super fast and chew on pinecones. Her name is Molly (after Mrs. Weasley) and we got her from a shelter in September!
My dog is 12 years old and he doesnt know either. He's the youngest old dog ever! He's name is "Llamp" wich means lightning in my language. He's a mixed breed : Basque shepherd and tekel. He is redhead with brown eyes. I love him very much and he is soo gorgeous!
A few months ago, we had candles set on our coffee table. My cat jumped up on the table and began purring and rubbing himself against everything, wanting attention. When he was walking past the candles, he flicked his tail... and got his tail set on fire. Our living room smelled like burnt fur for days after that.
I'm more of a cat person, dogs have always made me nervous but I have 2 cats named Joey and Chloe, I didn't mean for them to rhyme it just happened but they are the sweetest creatures ever,so loving and cuddly.
I have a 5 year old yorkie. Her name is Misty, i got her while i was in high school, and she came with me to college. I also have a cat , Tinker-Bell (im really not much of a cat person, but i wanted to get something for my dog so she wouldn't be lonely while i was gone all day :) , and i also have a beaded dragon named Haiku. . .
This is my dog Casper, he's an Airedale Terrier and 12 years old. This is a picture my cousin took of him sticking his head out the side of my dad's work's pickup truck whilst giving the camera a smile... also he's sticking his tongue out... it always makes me laugh and I hope it makes you smile :) bit*ly/rYT0sa replace * with a dot
I'm a dog person. I have a 4 year old golden labrador and she is the dopiest but most affectionate thing I've ever known. She loves cuddles and when I put the fire on she goes to sleep in front of it and she is absolutely adorable haha
I think it depends what you grow up around that determines whether you prefer dogs or cats. I grew up around dogs, yet I have had two cats recently. I say I am a cat person, yet dream of having a dog when I am older...I'm a bit of both...
We have a dog called Nellie and whenever i watch people neglecting animals or just animals like sinking polar bears i want to hug her, she's a Border Collie/Springer-Spaniel! Beautiful<3
My dog Pepper is the world most frightened dog, ever. She loves the family and being around us, but basically everything else is super scary to her. It's sad and funny at the same time, to be honest. xD
@OhGosh93 Haha, my dog is exactly the same. Whenever we ask him if he wants to go out for a walk, he goes and hides in a corner because he's scared of meeting someone on the stairs. But I love him :)
I have a wonderful 10-year-old brown lab/greyhound cross. We actually just adopted him at the beginning of the month and I'm, sadly, going to be seeing him about as often as you're seeing your dogs. I love cats too and had one for 13 years until she died quite suddenly last October. I think it will take me a while to be ready to have another cat because she was my cat and I was quite attached to her.
I'm not a dog person, but I'm not a cat person either. Is it possible to be more of a chicken person? Or a goldfish person? We have chickens. They are so cute but so silly:)
@dropofjam we have chickens too, but one of them is really messed in the head and eats her own eggs; the advice was to kill her, but we only have two and don't much want to kill little Ginger xD
@QueenOfTheAubergines Oh no! We had one who used to run the wrong way when we went to feed her, as in run away from where we feed her in the excitement of food.... We often get them from factory farms and when we do they are always a bit sillier than usual....
What beautiful dogs! I have a silly little black Lhasa Apso. He loves to look out the window, sleep, and eat marshmallows. He definitely hates peanut butter!
Your dogs are so lovely :) My old dog passed away very suddenly this October and we swore we'd never get another because it's just too much pain to lose them, but three weeks later we'd adopted another who's lying on my feet right now! Dogs are just so loving, I bet yours were very happy to see you when you got back from London :)
My dog Molly, who is a half australian shepherd half lab, just passed away a few days ago. She was fifteen. She used to go around to each room in the house at night and check on each member of my family, before finally settling in my room. I miss her so much :'(
And I love dogs, my grandma used to get them from rescue centres and stuff, and she was in ireland on holiday, on a busy main road/motorway, and there were these two dogs running away, and they were injured (there were used for hunting and were very badly mistreated), so she and my granddad took them to the vets and got them checked out, then asked to keep them so they would have a good life.. Kilty and Skipper they were called, sweet dogs
My sister has Australian shepherds! I love them. We have old dogs too. One is 14 and the other is 10. I do prefer my cats, though. My cat Sally is my shadow. I even brought her to college with me. I plan on studying abroad in England next year, too, and I'm going to miss her terribly.
I have a sweet 7 year old lhasa apso named Lulu. She plays dumb a lot of the time, but I'm convinced she's smarter than we give her credit for & she's just trying to fool us all. I also have a cat named Ariel (she liked baths when she was a kitten), but she's the pickiest animal I've ever met, she cuddles only on her own terms and she gets offended easily. I'm definitely a dog person, I've had dogs almost my whole life and I can't imagine not having one.
My cat Revels used to like exploring etc, so one time in December err, two years ago when she was a kitten, she decided to try and jump up the fireplace/chimney.. The fire was lit, and she jumped in.. I, being the courageous 14 year old girl that I was, put my hands into the fire to get her out, he whiskers were singed and her paws were burnt, but she was fine :) I felt like superman for a few weeks :D
I had a rabbit called Smeagol for 7 years. At about one month old, he was running about in his playpen I was sitting there with him, when a wasp landed on the wire netting of the run. He swiped it down with one paw and it lay there, crushed on the ground, dead! Pretty awesome for a baby rabbit. He loved running and jumping, and as he got older I would let him free to run around the lawn and the garden. Even though I'm a cat person, your dogs look lovely.
Get out of here! My malmute's name was kodiak (kodi for short!) sadly, he passed away a couple weeks back. He was such a sweet gentle-hearted creature. In fact about six of my neighbors came over to our house in an attempt to help him the night he died. I miss him dearly. Anyway, both of your dogs are gorgeous :)
Your dogs are adorable! I used to have 2 Saint Bernards, Brittany and Cody. Brittany was Cody's mom, but sadly we had to put Cody down several years ago when he was about 7, because he had bone cancer. Then a few years ago, Brittney passed away, about 2 weeks before her 13th birthday. They were some of the best, lovable creatures on earth. I remember putting bunny ears on Brittney when I was little, and she just lied there and let me. I now have a Pomeranian named Momo, and he's also wonderful.
I had a dog for almost 15 years. She passed away almost 8 months ago. I think she was alot like your oldest dog because she was very wise too! This will be my first christmas at home without her which feel very weird. But I'm trying to focus on all the happy memories I have of her (and there are a LOT of memories). SHe was a Bearded Collie named Molly btw =)
I am one of the person who prefers cats. Actually, I don't like dogs because my grand mother's neighbour had, and still has, a huge black dog which scared me when I was little, since then, I don't like them, not that I am afraid of them or anything. I had two cats but they have been gone for a long time now, and I would like one but I live in a tiny tiny flat so he wouldn't be happy there. I have two goldfishes though, Djobi and Djoba (like the song, haha) and they are very very stupid ! :)
Our old dog used to sleep in my parent's bed every night but after her morning bathroom run she would come sleep with me for a half hour or so. When I went to Australia on exchange my dog spent the year running into my room, looking up at my mom, and then would curl up on my bed anyways. I missed her so much the year I was away. I'm glad she missed me too
Well i had a hamster, his name was Shadow. During his life he suffured a LOT! I accidently vaccumed him, he fell of the balcony and some how got into the microwave.
R.I.P Shadow.

I got my chocolate lab named Choco at the post office when i was 7. The breeder also worked for the post office so we met up there and he let me take her home in a post office box.

I prefer cats mainly because they are typically smaller and require less attention and maintenance. Also cats have softer bodies so its easier to cuddle with them.
That being said, I do love the dog that we have so much. She is adorable and very sweet.

i have a dog named rascal. he is a basset hound and black lab mix. he looks a little funny because he has a large lab head, a small basset hound body, and large lab paws. rascal is not that smart and even though he is now around 7 or 8 years old, he acts like he is still a puppy. it is really funny to watch him sleep, because he always sleeps on his back with his paws in the air and his tongue hanging out of his mouth.

She was just a stray that was creepin' around in my backyard and I went outside to see if she would come to me and she, like, bolted in my direction and put her paws on my hand and started licking them. She then abruptly stopped, walked through my open door into my house and never left.

I took my dog for a walk on the trail the other day and he randomly just pounced on something. He stood there wagging his tail, looking at me expectantly when I realized that he had just killed a mouse. It was even sticking out of his mouth. . . It took me and my Dad five minutes of standing out in the front yard waving treats in his face to get him to drop it.
Ugh. He's a corgi mix by the way. We rescued him so we're not sure what other breed he is. We suspect he's a corgi shepherd, though.

StripyTie12 2 months ago 26
@StripyTie12 It depends on the breed you got, they're not all like labradors or golden retrievers, who require a lot of affection. Breeds like huskies are more aloof and independent.
HannahIsUnoriginal 2 months ago
@StripyTie12 So in other words, no children for you?
freakishlypeculiar 2 months ago
@freakishlypeculiar Well i'm only twenty so no, i don't know, i try not to make plans. Depends what happens and if i meet someone who wants them.
You can be a dog person and still not want kids (like Kayley for example) i don't think you can really compare animals and children. One's a furry thing that sleeps at the end of your bed and the other's an actual human infant lulz.
StripyTie12 2 months ago
@StripyTie12 I know. I wasn't bashing you or anything. I just mean because you said dogs are way too dependent along with other things. Well, I just mean because children are very dependent as well, so I was just wondering. I think in many ways, animals and people are alike. Only difference is dogs pretty much stay like children and humans can actually grow up and change. I treat all animals as I would a human. They deserve it just as much as anyone else.
freakishlypeculiar 2 months ago
@StripyTie12 Birthdays are acknowledged and if I actually had an animal, they would be receiving gifts from their own stockings as well. That's really just me though.. I am a strong believer that they deserve the same things as everyone else. All animals, not just dogs. A dog however, would be appreciative of a doggy treat in it's stocking. They get equally excited. They are more loyal than people and love unconditionally too so.

Sad and funny story.
My nan was weird.

I'm a dog person. I have a 4 year old golden labrador and she is the dopiest but most affectionate thing I've ever known. She loves cuddles and when I put the fire on she goes to sleep in front of it and she is absolutely adorable haha

I have two rabbits. :) They're called Blondie and Peach and they're two years old. I'm really worried about them when I go off to college.

I think it depends what you grow up around that determines whether you prefer dogs or cats. I grew up around dogs, yet I have had two cats recently. I say I am a cat person, yet dream of having a dog when I am older...I'm a bit of both...

My dog Pepper is the world most frightened dog, ever. She loves the family and being around us, but basically everything else is super scary to her. It's sad and funny at the same time, to be honest. xD
OhGosh93 2 months ago

They are so cute but so silly:)
dropofjam 2 months ago
@dropofjam we have chickens too, but one of them is really messed in the head and eats her own eggs; the advice was to kill her, but we only have two and don't much want to kill little Ginger xD
QueenOfTheAubergines 2 months ago
@QueenOfTheAubergines Oh no! We had one who used to run the wrong way when we went to feed her, as in run away from where we feed her in the excitement of food.... We often get them from factory farms and when we do they are always a bit sillier than usual....

I'm a total dog person too! We have a Boykin Spaniel Spaniel. He's 11 or 12, but definitely doesn't act like it
