  • u have like four other xbox in the back

  • Have just taken apart my xbox 360 elite as the drawer would hardly ever open, followed your tutorial and used some wd40, put it all back together again and voila!!......thx for the vid, it really helped and saved buying a new one!!.........

    Regards

    John

  • you talk 3 separate times in a minute about greasing things but you dont show at ALL about inserting the tray correctly.....

  • damn you are my hero!!! thank you so much ;)

  • my band feel off... how can i get it back on lolol

  • god damn this looks like it'd work, but my teeth are completely jammed! so grease would help?

  • Basically I press open tray and the tray won't even come out it making a kicking sound wen I do it to

  • @coolman10191 same here

  • ive opened up the xbox and am down to this drive, but i dont kno how to go about getting the tray out. its kind of locked right now and im afraid to just pull really hard on it cuz it might break it...? haalp meh

  • @elmotpoopie im having the same problem i dont want to force it cause i think ill break it

  • @Zaku186 u hav to power up the xbox without its clothes on and pray to the microsoft dick who put it together that it will eject this one time. mine did. perhaps u are as lucky..

  • dont open the x box when u hit eject and it doesnt open just push the disc tray with your thumb and see if it opens and it should you might have to push it a few times

  • I am officialy taking requests. Want a tutorial on something that is not out there for an Xbox 360? Let me know and I might just make one on my spare time with all the Xbox 360's I have left in the garage.

  • @elitescouter i need help my disc tray is stuck about a half an inch from being closed and i can't pull the tray out at all so i can't see the real problem because its under the tray i need to know how to get the tray unstuck

  • @elitescouter Hey, basically my xbox 360 disk tray was jammed and was making a fuc**** up noise :L So I got a screwdriver, wedged it in and pulled it out. But now its really' loose and wobblys. The eject button doesnt do anything. On the actual xbox it just says 'opening' but its not moving at all. If i pull the disk tray out as far as it will go it and then press the opening icon on the xbox it will say ''Close Tray'' I think... Errm also it makes the horriblist noise when i press eject.

  • @elitescouter I've took apart my xbox and disc tray but the tray still only slides about 2cm out then stops and will not budge any further, because of this i can not access the rubber band or the gears, so i don't know whats stopping it, please help.

  • my tray is totaly jammed help plz

  • to last post xbox 360 fix i ran out of space and my spelling isnt that great, but my son said thank you all how helped my dad to fix xbox360.

  • first off let me say thank you to internet, i was ready to check my sons xbox360 of as done, no good any more, normaly if i can take it apart and inspect it, i can fix it. but i was ready to call a quite on this one. anyway i did what video sagested, and, it worked i want to thank youtube, and the guy in the video, for all his help. it is people like these that keep this world turnning, thanks to all of you my sons xbox360 has more life to give than just telling him, im sorry i couldnt fix it.ty

  • Stonerrrrr....

  • I have a tray that is stuck! I have taken the Xbox apart, I can not get the tray to slide along, it just gets stuck even when I turn it on. it does not open or shut, just moves a tiny bit and nothing more, no idea what to do, have followed lots of tips, but i must be doing something very wrong.

  • my xbox is a arcade system and i cant get the tray to come out

  • Works perfect for me. Thanks for the info!

  • Thanks this worked perfect for me. I didn't even have to take the tray out I could reach everything without removing the DVD drive.

  • I have a question could you switch the disk tray with another disk tray and will it work?

  • @MrKiller5254 Yes you can do that.

  • how do you actually pull the tray out open? please does anyone know?

  • @itachi215 Right under the circle that spins the actual game theres a metal piece, it has a hole in it. The black part under that metal piece, move the black part to the right and pull the tray. Or you could just plug in your xbox while the drive is opened up and the unplug it once open.

  • @calebverdught thanks bro

  • @itachi215h watch?v=wZu2-muJDJE&feature=related

  • rubbing alcohol will eat the rubber band in time its better to use water clean water

  • WD-40 is an oil not a grease, it will kill your xbox, and it will also attract dust, and use white grease it stays longer and is a far better lubricant for electronic devices

  • This guy sounds fat as hell

  • great video, i used this idea and it worked like a charm. tray opens better than it ever did. also wile i had the x box apart i cleaned all the dust away from the fans. great video, thanks.

  • WHy can't I tie a fucking string to my tray and pull it open? I dont want to open up my xbox, and do all this crap.

  • I dont know anything about fixing xboxs, but, wouldnt the alcohol dry the rubber band?

  • Safe blud just fixed my xbox good video

  • My disc tray is stuck about a half an inch from being closed all the way, and you can't pull the tray out at all. The teeth are already together to where it should be when it closes, but i'm not sure how to get this part unstuck.

  • @XDarkNation I have the same problem :/ but it appears to be an uncommon problem, not a lot of tutorials adress it, well, none that i could find really

  • @XDarkNation im having the same exact problem like im waiting for someone to put a video like that up

  • @XDarkNation same

  • @XDarkNation your gears are broken then

  • Damn, are you high or something?

  • Can't I just spray canned air into the open tray to clear it out? This is a serious question.

  • @GeneralTheGuy i think so dude thats how you clean computers and those hae some of the same componets

  • @GeneralTheGuy I've done that an it still happens.

  • @GeneralTheGuy nonono! canned air will ruin the laser so no dont do it!!

get the qtip and clear the dust you can see. then gert qtip with alcohol and clean the rubber band then apply grease

  • Thanks man

  • cant watch anymore your voice is SOOOOOOOOO dull and boring

  • I recommend using White Lithium grease to lubricate the gears and rails. This is the type of grease used by the OEM CD/DVD Makers use.

  • I saw 4 xboxs back their

  • yo bill gates

  • i like how theres 3-4 unused xbox's in the backround at 4:10

  • Thanks!! Worked like a champ!

  • I recommend to not use WD40. It's not meant for plastics.

  • nice vid but that rubber band thing came out while i was opening my drive so now i cant open it anyway. can you please help me. thanks

  • Or, pull the whole thing out and put it back in.

  • the problem is the motor is weak, just replace the motor. its 2 wires and 2 screws.

  • @nudetube2 Not everyone is smart. :)

  • this is not a good method guys. putting grease on your gears does 2 things. 1) the grease just slings right back on the belt and you will be cleaning it again and alch. will dry out your belt and cause it to rot. 2) the grease will hold any dust or dirt it comes in contact with causeing a huge mess in the future. the best method is to use a little bit of graphite.

  • i gave it another try but this time i took the rubber band off and dried all the grease and now its all Garvey

  • worked for mins the same prob again its as if the magnet is stopping it from opening

  • Is the title of the video going to "permenantly" have a spelling error?

  • wd40 is a degreaser.

  • Hey the thing with mine is when I go to close the tray it will close but just re open and Itl keep doing this for a while and the flashing power button will keep flashing , please help me outt

  • Hey the prob with mine is it will open but stay open with the flashing power light and then when I het the button to close , it will close but won't stay closed and Itl keep opening help me outt pleasee

  • Greasing is the best thing to do , but I use MICROLUBE GBU Y 131 Which works the best for the reason , you need very little of it to do the job .. And a big problem with grease is ,dust and dirt tend to stick to greased parts easier ..

This micro lube is very expensive though approx : $100 for a little tube , but it goes a very long way and is worth it ..

I have owned this same tube for 3 years already and have barely used any !!

Keep up the good work !! Computer Pitstop !! DEv :)

  • Great guide!

  • Great guide. Also I found the top of the disk tray housing was causing the spindle not to release the drive. The solution was to regrease the spinner and it worked. The magnet I think was out of alignment too. So far so good.

  • I didn't have any grease so I used jizz, now it runs like new.

  • Thank you for the suggestion! That worked perfectly.

  • No problem guys. If you have any more requests anythign related to an Xbox 360, put a comment and I will see if I can make a tutorial. I still got a crap ton of them I can play around with.

  • VERY informative.. Espcially when you consider he didn't sleep for 81 days. Just listen to his voice.. ZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

  • bill Clinton owns an Xbox?

  • @MrPvtBacon no its four twentie and he prolly just smoked a whole bunch of weed.

  • My tray wouldn't open so I watched a couple of videos including this one and I fixed it. This trick worked for me. Thanks a lot for uploading this vid. Saved me around $200.

  • So I'm assuming that I'm voiding my warranty (if it is still in effect) if I dismantle my xbox to this extent. Correct?

  • @Vvajk yes

  • @Vvajk unless the sticker doesnt rip somehow lol

  • @Vvajk Correct, if you take off the faceplate, you should see a sticker, to take apart the outer case you have to rip the sticker which in return voids your warranty

  • Thank you for this video! Worked like a charm. I appreciate you!

  • WD-40 is not a lubricant. It is a cleaner and de-greaser.

You should only use it to clean, using some type of lubricant afterwards.

  • But i opened the tray and didnt take the xbox apart and it still worked

  • Thanks this actually worked

  • umm how do you clean it up if you cant fuckin open it

  • thanks

  • Thanks, this helped me fix my laser issue and stuck tray issue.

  • it looks complicated.....

  • how do u open it -_-

  • wtf the button to the left of my xbox is stuck its just gone completley thick someone please help

  • Thanks for the info, i actually didnt have to open my xbox 360, i just used the rubbing alcohol as you said and cleaned the pulley right in the front of the drive and that worked for me. I will probably grease the gears if this happens again.

  • I've had a stuck tray for weeks, THANK GOD I watched this b4 take my rage out on my 360. My glorious return to Live will be because the tips in your vid. thx.

  • erm i've opened my xbox disk tray about 4 times now and mine dosent have gears :/

  • Is WD-40 good to put on it is flammable and I'm afraid the heat from the box might light it on fire?

  • I was sold as soon as you said grab alcohol :D haha jks

  • whats wrong with your voice

  • Thank you!

  • You sound sad

  • OMG!OMG!OMG LOOK AT ALL THOSE X-BOXES IN BACK ROUND!.....

  • worked like a charm...thanks!

  • Comment removed

  • i can't get my drive open to do that, its stuck shut

  • omg wow thank you so much lol it actually worked thanks :) i used whisky to clean it and a grease thats kinda solid i wouldnt recommend sprays =)

  • i can see like 4 more xboxs in the backround at 4:14

  • Thanks for the video - Worked for me

  • You sound like you're stoned off your tits

  • @radddogg I heard it is

  • I did this without opening the xbox. I just opened the disc tray(find out how at xbox web site), BUT IT WORKS...THANKS A MILLION

  • Thank you! it really works. I used virgin machine oil on the gears and it works also.

  • lulz this would have been easyer i got so mad i ripped it out of the xbox!!

  • excellent

  • you sound high.

  • Dude I bought a ten buck xbox and now i got it working but the fans are so loud now :\ lol sounds like its on 12v but its not atm

  • well how do i get it open in the 1st place

  • Worked great. Thanks so much!

  • Thanks! :D

  • Lubrication is always the answer.

  • Go ahead and grab some alcohol LOL

  • every one look real close and u will see all of these xboxes

  • yea good idea but there are about ten different xbox 360 disc trays

  • how do you get the tray open?

  • @elitescouter my disk tray doesnt open because the metal part on top of the tray gets really close to the tray part and i cant find any way to fix it any tips?

  • They Metal Part that goes over the tray makes my tray not open because its to close and i cant do anything to fix any tips?

  • My disk tray won't even come out far enough for me to see the gears.

  • Dude, don't recommend WD-40 to lube the gears, do you even understand what WD-40 is? Its a DEGREASER. Do NOT use it as a lubricant because that is not what it is.

  • @1NutWhoreBitOffMyNut before you comment maybe you should do your research. WD40 does lubricate.. it's not the best option for long term lubrication but it does work. The primary function out of 5 is Water Displacement. That's what the WD stands for.

  • sopozed to use graffite

  • does this work for the slim model?

  • You talk weird

  • thxs dat work

  • Are u constipated?

  • can u use 3 in 1

  • should have shown the tray not working in the 1st place

  • @NAIL1271 he did he putched the eject button with the screwdriver

  • @NAIL1271 he did.

  • did someone die??

  • Guys look at all those xbox's he has in the background 4:13

  • U STONED?

  • IM SELLING FAULY JTAG WITH HARDRIVE WITH ALL FIRMWARE PRE INSTALLED MESSAGE ME FOR INFO OR PURCAHSE UK ONLY

  • i wouldnt use wd40, that will eat away at the plastic

  • @6mmjunkie from WD40s web site:

What surfaces or materials are OK to use WD-40 on?

WD-40 can be used on just about everything. It is safe for metal, rubber, wood and plastic. WD-40 can be applied to painted metal surfaces without harming the paint. Polycarbonate and clear polystyrene plastic are among the few surfaces on which to avoid using a petroleum-based product like WD-40.

  • Ah sorry about that. But do u fix Xboxes And resell????

  • @Badlyfar Yes. I reflow, just recently started reballing gpu's. I also modify them with windows, LED's, etc.

  • @elitescouter do you ever jtag? and how much do you buy them for each??

  • @Badlyfar I don't buy them, I just end up buying a RROD xbox 360, fix it up and find out that it's jtaggable.

  • @elitescouter if i have a disk drive that is stuck in and want to fix it like this, because it's a friends, what do I do to get it out? it's the same in the video. Please help!!

  • @elitescouter how do i get it out without it being able to open with the xbox?? what do i push??

  • @elitescouter well i am interested in leds

  • If you're wondering why I sound like this well this was litteraly recorded at 6am, I had like no sleep lol and I'm not the greatest speaker. English is like my 4th language so give me a break =)

  • Worked perfectly!! Thanks!!

  • haha is that grease from your sti engine build?

  • @CamCommandatore haha its grease I did use on my STi's struts when they started making noises

  • cool, but dude you sound like you just finished a mean sesh,

  • why is it sticky?

  • Fantastic, thank you :D

  • i droped a game on mine whilst it was poen and it got pushed down and it is jammed half way out now

  • first of all u dont need to grease plastic cogs that make constant contact, grease is to help lubricate and slide and is the enemy of traction which is what the cogs and "rubber band" work on if your going to grease anything it wants to be the centrpoint of the cogs i.e. the axle. second never hold or move an xbox while its running. third most trays stick because of the over active magnet and will move again once taken apart because they are freed up by the process

  • I used vasaline and it works aswell :)

  • ok thx and btw it DID WORK!!! it just took a few tries...

  • LOOK AT ALL THOSE XBOXS IN THE BACK AT 4:21

  • @bigmilo5 I had over 200+, down to like 50ish now =)

  • @elitescouter jesus christ how u got so much?

  • i used the WD40 and it didnt work

  • @technorox34 Your case might be a bit worse and you will have to use something thicker like what I've used.

  • how do you get the disk drive open in the first place?

  • @technorox34 Where the rubber band is, spin that piece and the laser will lower down and u can pull the tray out.

  • thanx man.. it works fine now
