I wanted to to try out for a ranger so bad but then it turns out I am red green colorblind...so now I am enlisting in the marines as a field radio operator so I can hopefully get a chance to work with marsoc units
The fact of the matter is people here are comparing apples and oranges, all fruit, but still different. Each group of SOCOM has a specific mission; SEALs and CAG are door kickers mostly, primarily designed for direct action. I know nothing about SAS other than Combat Action Group was originally designed after them, but I'm sure it is much the same case. Rangers are a specialized light infantry unit. They can hang with all those other guys (and do), but they're the QRF when shit hits the fan
@marinetobe2012 SEALs and CAG shouldn't be compared.DEVGRU is the NSW equivalent to CAG/Delta. The Rangers are a direct action raiding unit that operate on their own and are not a support force or QRF.they go out on their own.when they do 'support' anybody its never just SEALs or SF they are supporting.only the SMU's. Rangers are the Army's main door kickers and have been since their inception. SEALs and Rangers are the closest as far as role outside of the SMU's Being direct action oriented.
@DDIISSEE wasn't trying to downplay the boys in Regiment. Just trying to point out that each group has their own specific mission they were created for. The mission of the Rangers is not not the same as the mission of SF, or presumably SAS. I only brought up the Ranger QRF in reference to Takur Ghar.
@marinetobe2012 Yeah, and SEALs have come in support of Rangers that were on an objective too...That's supposedly how that chinook got shot down in August.
@DDIISSEE yeah they all look out for each other. At that level the dick measuring contests that are prevalent here and in some conventional units are non-existent. Had a former 13F Sgt from 1st Batt. in my squad this past summer. Was the most humble guy I've ever met; wouldn't have known he was from Regiment unless I saw the scroll.
@marinetobe2012 lol..Know what you mean. My step dad is former 3/75...most unassuming dude ever...but i got nothing but respect for him and all SOF personnel.
@DDIISSEE I have an uncle who was former 2/75 then went into the Columbus, OH Detachment of 19th SFG. It was funny as hell talking to him when Osama went down. My dad's last deployment was as an attachment to one of the SFGs in Afghanistan (though he wouldn't tell me which). He's a Navy nurse corps guy buy as a former 11B E-6 type he volunteers for a lot of deployments.
@clapinc Eh not so much. There's not a whole lot to be confused about. Every Special Operations unit (SEALS, CAG, SF, AFSTS, Rangers, etc.) has their own primary mission they were stood up and designed for. However, in today's conflict many units venture outside of their predesignated paradigm out of necessity. SOCOM is executing a lot of missions carried out by JSOCTF.
@IMNOTAMUSED Sorry, I forgot that modern warfare was fought and won based on one on one battles between two different elite military units that are fighting side by side.
@noshortcutsful sorry i forgot 12 year olds go on youtube you forger to put the 1 idiot now stfu and go back on your video games witch are ment for fun and npt realism :)
@IMNOTAMUSED1 how old are you? honestly? you shouldn't talk out of your ass. just makes you look stupid. especially when you can't distinguish the difference between witch and which or when to properly use it.
@TehMul3sta mate why do i need to prove my litercay skills to you this is the internet not an english test so if your on the internet you can use ffs wtf rofl lol and stuff like that i started saying sas is better and now ive went to literacy the internet is a sad place sometimes you fu**ing troll
s.a.s is much better they get more training then rangers they stay in 24 weeks while rangers stay in 14 weeks and george bush said it was better so did the defence thing for usa but rangers are good to they have more people sas doesnt have much since its hard training they have to learn to breach walls and all that stuff
@IMNOTAMUSED1 Shouldn't you be studying for Pre-K or something. SAS training is harder because they learn to breach walls? Really? Quit being a faggot. Rangers go through the Ranger Breacher Course before reporting to their battalion. You're a fucktarded little cum bubble. Go play some more Call of Duty and shut the fuck up!!!
@sarmedic8401 call of duty is rubush notice how i say and that stuff like 24 weeks thing stop using swear words aswell saying you fucktard little cum bubble has nothing to do with anything i just said some thing which i know so stop using being a little 12 year old and go masturbate how your rangers went through a breach thing
SAS and Rangers are two different things, you fag. Rangers are light assault infantry while SAS are special forces. Two entirely different concepts. If you're going to compare special forces, then compare the SAS to the Green Berets, SEALs, or 1st SFOD, some of them with arguably tougher training than the SAS.
@IMNOTAMUSED1 WTF are you talking about? First of all, Rangers don't use tanks. The Regiment doesn't recruit 19Ks. Second of all, the M60 can be carried by one man, so I can't see why it can't be used in a light infantry unit. Third of all, Rangers use M240 (seen in the video) and M249 LMGs... You've honestly been playing too much Call of Duty..
@IMNOTAMUSED1 im signing my 11bravo airborne infantry contract this monday and getting sworn in AND going to be a ranger so im pretty sure my shit is str8 little boy.
@cubano3421 how am i little you dont know me if and if your in the army that doesnt mean you know anything you probably dont know allot so if you are then prove it all you say is words and i dont really trust you because you talk like a like an elven year like saying str8
@IMNOTAMUSED1 "you talk like a like an elven year" Did you really just offer a rebuttal like that?? Your comment itself was absolutely retarded. *don't, *doesn't, *A-LOT. Seems like you're the elevEn year old.
@15fad2011 listen m8 i couldnt care less i think s.a.s is better then rangers and every one has know started trying to prove me wrong which i think is right my theory is right until proven right and wrong and if you are going on afghanistan then good luck
@IMNOTAMUSED1 The S.A.S is of course better than the Ranges. S.A.S is a tier 1 level unit, now is it better than the U.S. Army's CAG (delta) of the Israeli Sayeret Matkal then IDK most likely they are all on similar levels.
@15fad2011 Tell the SAS or SF: Delta to take a airport and see what happens, it wouldn't be pretty. Two seperate Speacial Operation Forces, with two serperate purposes. Its like comparing apples and oranges. What makes a Teir 1 force is its Counter/Anti Terrorism capabilites; every special operations force has its own unique purpose. If they all did the same thing but at higher levels there would be only 1 special operations unit and not the dozen or so that we have today.
@kasem1065 Um no its not Colonel Beckwith designed Delta Force after the S.A.S after he served as a foreign detachment officer with them for a year. American needed a unit with the same capabilities as the S.A.S.
@IMNOTAMUSED1 not even going to waste my time on you dude. Just keep up with your youtube comments, and im not in the army YET like i said im working at meps right now till i sign my contract and get my ship date
@cubano3421 Chill lol, you're not a ranger yet, you're not even a soldier yet. I signed the same exact contract as you about 4 months ago, and I don't leave until this January for BCT.. You have a while to go, I have a while, and even then, we still have to make it though. It isn't easy! Do me a favor though, one thing that I can't stand is guys who haven't even enlisted yet, or have enlisted and are just waiting to go, act like a hard ass... Don't do that, future soldier.. Hooah
@IMNOTAMUSED1 In the US Army Light Infantry units carry M240's (Medium Machine Guns NOT heavy), mortars and rockets. Light Infantry just means troops carry everything they fight with. Light and Heavy designations in the US Army is a reference to vehicles. The Rangers have ZERO tanks and the M60 isn't even a HMG it's a medium MG and I've never seen one in the US Army. Soooo pretty much you're a dumb ass.
@thehotshirtguy2008 mate look at the time i posted look at the time you posted nobody really cares anymore m8 i think sas is better and the m60 i was on about the m60e3 not the orignal m60
@IMNOTAMUSED1 We don't use that one either. The one in the video is a 240(FN MAG) with 145 scope anyway. But I guess if you don't know the difference between a M60 or M240 then maybe that's why you think the SAS is better.
@thehotshirtguy2008 mate you probablys didnt know what my orignal comment is i said sas is better then everyone started trying to prove me wrong i dont care rangers use an m60 or m240 ive went to army to guns and scopes i dont care i think sas training is more to do with terroism and stuff so if sas went 1on1 with a ranger in real life i think sas would win
