I can't stand this fucking movie. Beneath the photography, set, lighting, so on, it's just another exploitation flick depicting vigilante justice. A concept that's been recycled over and over. Other than that, like most horror and thriller movies, this one lacks logic. *spoiler* If I were the man in this movie, I would've wasted the girl before killing myself first.
the sound track to the film sends chills down my spine, for all the right reasons. so does the intense and uncomfortable dialouge between haley and jeff. an outstanding film than baptised me to the powerfull genre of dark films with a hint of innocence.
for anyone who enjoys this, I whole reccommend "let the right one in" a fantastic vampire horror which redefines the genre and is ultimately suitable for those who hate horror and gore.

First of all, Hostel was an awful slasher movie, and completely different genre, and secondly, Hard Candy is not a typical fun movie.
The script was origianl and really flips around most of the preconceptions about strong female leads, not only this but it really blurs the line between victim and wrong doer.
This was a thought provoking and important film, and this review completely soared over most of the content
Hayley insists she goes to Jeff's house, she tells him hes falling behind and gets him to drink more. Really, this plot is completely original and i love it. These guys just dont like it cuz a guy gets tricked and thinks his balls are getting cut off.

These guys obveously have little taste if all they can appreciate is the "artsy" films. Go watch your so called "artsy" films and leave the awesome psychological thrillers for critics who can appreciate them for what they are.
These guys give really dull, uninteresting reviews and hardly give any evidence to back up what little opinion they do have. They say the script is contrived. How is it contrived? Give examples. Show more clips from the movie. The one scene they did show was in the beginning, and it was a dull scene at that. The script is far more interesting than Hostel ( I love Quentin Tarantino, but the script sucked. It was merely "Get the americans wasted and then waste them."

the description at the beginning is wrong. he doesnt ply her with drinks, she makes the drinks herself, they were her idea its just that he doesnt stop her.
that was a terrible review. i cant believe he said he didnt think jeff was a believable character. he was a paedophile trying to seduce his next victim (hayley) so he wasnt going to walk around saying how he was a pervert and a murderer
These two men need to stop blowing each other and actually enjoy a good film.
