I actually own a black, so I can update on afew things however I see Talent2008 has filled you in on alot. There was a time when Amex would let you call them and you could apply to be a blackcard holder (of course if you fitted the cirteria), they felt that it was starting to loose it's somewhat fame so they have now set it back to invitation only. I don't if you have seen Joe Polish's youtube channel, but he founded the 25K group and is also a black card holder. check him out.

want one sooooooo bad. im only 16 but were fairly wealthy but i cannot fathom spending 250,000 in one year on one card. i just dont see how its possible.. how does someone even spend that much in one year i dont get it.

The black card is made from plastic in Saudi Arabia so it can work everywhere :)

I have a black card, so I can give you some insight as to what AMEX looks for, based on how I got mine. 1st, you don't need a net worth of millions. My total net worth is around 750K. Secondly, my credit is terrible. Last time I checked my credit score, I think it was around 620. BUT, I own a business. And that's how I got the card. I didn't charge over 250K a year, either. I probably charge around 15K a month. The thing is, I would pay my bill in full every month, or very close to it.
