  • Steven Wilson is my god

  • @ProjectBerklee i just shat my pants when i saw that thing :|

  • When did Steven go on Letterman?!

  • @legendofzelda101 Heh, had exactly the same thought. Far as I can tell, it's on a Letterman-clone in Israel.

  • Steven Wilson you are genius... keep making amazing music for years to come!

  • Um. What could I say? I LOVE STEVEN WILSON

  • omg! pause at 0:10 ...THERE IS AN EVIL BABY!!

  • @ProjectBerklee hahaha! isn't evil it's just dead

  • I just got my DVD copy yesterday. I must say, it wasn't exactly what I expected. It was MORE than a Documentary, it had a HUGE touch of surrealism to it. Steven and Lasse working together make an excellent piece of art... but I can't help but notice how CREEPY it is! I can see why even Steven answered to a lady's question of "What kind of music do you play?" with "weird shit." A lot of people will not comprehend these abstract influences. In the end, this was personal for him. I still enjoyed!!!

  • Pause it at 0:10 and you'll see an evil baby, I swear to God hahaha

  • Steven is God

  • Oh man. I've been stuck on this guy for like 3 years now. I never had a favorite band/artist since I listened to his stuff. He wins at life.

  • one of my all time favorites ! Another guy here at youtube said . " He's the Mozart of our times " and I say he's right. Steven Wilson is one of the best Musicians on this planet.

  • Insurgentes is an incredible song.

  • insurgentes is a masterpiece !

  • Let's start a religion revolving around him! =D

  • This record is a pure masterpiece... It makes me feel that is has "something" special like "Sgt pepper's" or "Revolver" in it... Mister Wilson is a pure genius, experimenting again and again...

  • one of the best trailers to be ever made

  • Where can I buy this film? It would be awesome to have it =D

  • Mikael Akerfeldt from Opeth at 1:11! Haha. =]

Him and Steven are good friends.

  • @SeanDuffyProductions wrong, he's aviv geffen from blackfield... :)

  • @solkanars No, look closer. It's a show where you see him from behind looking at a poster with Steven, and he turns his head and smiles. It's definetley Mikael, he has that unmistakable moustache haha.

  • @SeanDuffyProductions its simple, look the arm then google aviv geffen, look the spot in her face and then google it mikael haven't both, its a mistake :)! regards!

  • @solkanars mi mistake sry dude, i saw the wrong sec!... u got all right, its mikael!

  • @SeanDuffyProductions Aviv Geffen as 1:13

  • @SeanDuffyProductions very good musicians tend to cross paths

  • @SeanDuffyProductions They're the best minds in progressive music nowadays, and it's fitting that they're friends.

  • Spent a wonderful evening with Aviv. And his new album is spell-binding.The guy's an angel.

I would love to hear a new Blackfield album soon hopefully this time with Aviv sharing the vocals too.

Sorry, but I'm a greedy boy.

  • "Harmony Korine". First track off the album.

  • amazing <3

  • Heh, nice lyrics for a trailer - 'Be afraid to wait forever' :)

  • Veneno Paras Las Hadas is my favorite song on the album so far, but I just got it.

  • @Vektruscen

VPLH has ispired me to write 6 or 7 songs. Steven Wilson is an amazing Musician. :-)

  • Insurgentes 2 CD + ! DVD Photo Book for sale on Ebay. Search under Insurgentes photo book.

  • I love this man, there's no one like him !!!

  • You have all the reason!

  • Viva Mexico Cabrones!!!!!

  • I can picture a special on some arts channel 10 years from now about this guy.

Something along the lines of "back when the UK and america were listening to (insert whatever) and marching in step - there was Steven Wilson and the music they missed.

Ignored by labels, and deplored by radio - tonite we will present in full.....

  • When is documentary being released!?!

  • Best album of the decade.

  • the best song so far i have heard from the new cd...perfect!

  • Did I miss SW on the "Tonight Show" ," Late Night with David Letterman or Conan?

The set he's walking on to at 1:10 looks very familiar

  • 1:12 Whats up Mikael? Lol

  • 01:11 michael akerfeldt <3

  • i loved this song,.but wat is the next best thing in the album? after Harmony Korine.plz reply?!?!?

  • uuummmmm, the whole albulm is pretty damn epic. I bought the vinyl special edition and listened to it from start to finish the day I got it.....perfect albulm

  • Well since you seem to like the harmonic tracks the best I'd tell you to go listen to "Significant Other". But my personal favorite is "No Twilight Within The Courts Of The Sun".

  • If only this could be longer :(

  • love this song.. and i highly apreciate this man.. very good spirit and mind..

  • Sooo gooooddd..But Not enough Long..:(

  • I didn't know he had solo work! MY life is complete!!!!

  • Steven is back and packing with some of the best music ever!

  • Comment removed

  • One of the best albums out there. Easily.

  • I just got the INSURGENTES album, and love every note. Is the other stuff he's recorded this good... Where do I go from here??? Discovered the guy through his production work with OPETH of all things.

  • Listen to Porcupine Tree if you haven't. Steven Wilson is just as good in PT as he is in solo!

Anything off Deadwing will be good to start with.

Try - Arriving Somewhere But Not Here.

You may also like the band Dream Theater if you've not tried them yet !

  • Maybe. Maybe not.

I like DT and PT, but they're pretty different bands, aside from some occasional stylistic and production similiarities.

  • man everything he does is fucking awesome! Like Mikhael Ak said....."Steven is musical genious"

Get into Steve's music, it's quite infectious

  • Everything the man touches turns to gold. I've been listening to his various projects for under six months and everything is pretty much a masterpiece.

What you like might depend upon your taste and mood. If you like prog and rock, check out Porcupine Tree. Electronic and dance? No-Man. Psychedelic and krautrock? Incredible Expanding Mindfuck. Ambient background music? Bass Communion.

Personally, I love all of it.

  • @StriderIsAragorn Totally agree, this man is a GENIOUS, I can´t belive his talent. So far the project I liked the most was Blackfield but It´s true, it depends on your mood.

  • @StriderIsAragorn And if you like Emotional Poprock? Blackfield!

  • Anyway... I love everything about steve...

  • This is the first time I hear his Solo album and it's like: omfg.... =O!!

This is ABSOLUTELY the best!!!! This guy is an amazing musician!!

  • steve wilson is a mastercomposer

  • i know it was only an ep but nil recurring is for me the greatest work of art in the history of music... its stunning. Me and a mate went to see them live and they played normal, it was incredible.

We also met him at a signing in bristol. such a great guy :)

  • amazing album

  • insurgentes = best thing he's done.

  • isnurgentes is not ptree dammit stop comparing

  • great album.

  • Comment removed

  • I saw a quick snapshot of Aviv. I wonder if the movie is going to have some Blackfield stuff in it.

  • hahaha, 'La Isla de las Muñecas', (Island's Dolls), wow, that is frightening!

Steven: you are my hero! :)

Gavin: drums on Salvaging are PERFECT!

  • all i can say Is I Think Steve Wilson is a god

  • Ha take the think out, he is a god! : )

  • qft

  • Where does he find time between this and him working on his Deadwing movie?

  • Has this album been realeased..???

  • UK Release 9th Mar 2009

    US Release 24th Feb 2009

    AUS Release 7th Mar 2009

  • The special edition has but the normal retail version will be out Feb. 24th

  • Yeah, it does sound a bit like radiohead. Course it also doesn't in more ways.

And i do like this song, but i like his Porcupine Tree stuff better, Fear Of Blank Planet (whole album) is hard to follow up to since about everything PT puts out is amazing (In Absentia, Deadwing, FOBP). Im not as much a fan of there old stuff, but even that was still at least good.

Hope this albums good, and cant wait for the next PT album.

  • FOABP was the very first very disappointing release to me since I started to follow his/their career with stupid dream. But than he released this EP with "additional, nonfitting" stuff and i was again amazedut his ingenious talent of maiking incredible songs.

Insurgentes was not a masterpiece, but a very good album, with a new tone and No Twilight Within the Courts of the Sun is one of his best songs ever created. Keep going Steven!

  • Comment removed

  • you serious? FOABP was prob. (or at least in my opinion) their best album to date. Almost every song on that album was incredible, especially "way out of here". The beauty of the FOBP was also that the songs where so different, yet every song upheld its own differences with a certain mastery. That, in itself, should wow all who listened to it.

whats your favorite PT album then?

  • To date: Lightbulb Sun. It's fragile, emotional, progressive(in its whole meaning), deep and nevertheless harmonic and diversified. FOBP feeled like a spit of deep emotional expressions of Wilson but the whole concept was to "blown". Listening to the Album didn't "touch" me. Not in the slushy sense but in the way music should do. Anesthetize f.e. was too inhomogeneous for its length (first time i wondered why someone didn't split/cut a song).

Esp. when you know the 100 times better EP...

  • well i guess we'll just have to say that one mans shit is another mans treasure.

the fact that Anesthetize seemed to transform/mutate between different movements (and still remain one song) is not technically a flaw, but rather should answer to personal taste (which it does for me, but i guess not for everyone).

Personally i like the new direction Steve Wilson went with FOBP, but i do like others such as "in absentia" or "deadwing", some of "stupid dream", and a bit off of "Sig and "TSMS".

  • Yeah, and fortunately I like Insurgentes and Nil Recurring, so I look on ahead with pleasure.

  • I like FOABP a lot. And Insurgentes while being good bored me a little. Lightbulb sun is amazing.

  • I have to agree with you that FOBP is my favorite too. I just got Nil Recurring which is growing on me now!

  • FOABP is very good, and it was the first PT album i heard, so i was wowed. But then i heard stevens earlier stuff. i agree with lumpenheinz. Lightbulb Sun is smply the best album ive ever heard.

  • u are nutz FOABP was a masterpiece.

  • I like Deadwing a lot.. but there are fantastic songs on almost every PT album.

  • Sounds like PT in the old days but with fuzz distortions...

It's kinda tiring to listen.... I dare to say its a lot like Radiohead...

    I was especting more...

SW level nontheless.... I guess I'll have to wait for live stuff to really enjoy this!

  • oh, don't bother replying to this if you're just gonna say I'm a herectic or something...lol.

I'm a big SW fan, and instrumentally I give it for the masterpiece it is. But this just wasn't quite what I was expecting. Perhaps it's an acquired taste LOL!.

  • Its a somewhat ambient experience and it puts me in a very peaceful and reflecting type of mood. But you are correct in saying that it's somewhat of an acquired taste. You should acquire it!

  • Yah, I'm a bit more in the mood of it now.

But I still can't listen to the whole album straight up...

He uses this really fuzzy distortions that indeed go better with this style, but the sound has no definition and its tires me quickly...sort of a mix between ambience and nu metal .....

  • This album is awesome. Steven Wilson is one of my favorite singers, and the lack of musicians that worked with Steve in this album are great. For example, Mr. Jordan Rudess (The keyboard player of Dream Theater, Liquid Tension Experiment, Dixie Dregs, etc...) and Mr. Tony Levin (amazing bass player of several great bands such as King Crimson, Explorers Club I and II, and Liquid Tension Experiment. Amazing Album. I love the sound of Koto in the Track "insurgentes".

  • The album is just amazing. There are some small fallouts but SW is a man with a vision.

And the speciel. edt, with this booklet!!!

    Love it

  • what's the name of the song which is playing in this video..???

  • "Harmony Korine."

  • It's a wonderful song, my favorite on the album, next to "Collecting Space".

  • Indeed it is a very pleasant song.

  • fuck yeah méxico

  • neone know if this is written about harmony korine the producer/director???

  • Harmonu Korine...

    Great Song ;)

  • its pure magic...

  • He definitely knows what real music is.

Unbelievable. The upcoming video must be as beautiful as the song itself.

  • Check out the Insurgentes website.

"A video for Harmony Korine is currently being shot on location in the UK and Denmark, directed by Lasse Hoile. This will be released on line in February."

  • This record is amazing, it is like a combination of all the music styles over the years of PT into one album. Each song is like off a specific album's sound of PT. Absolutely fantastic.

  • This record is incredible and is definitely different from a PT record. But this is NOT a singer/songwriter type thing (I was worried). All of you should buy it.

  • You said it 57sammy...

He's done it again with another incredible release..he never disappoints

after more than 20 times listening to the full album I am so hooked on it...I'm just sorry I didn't get the book which I am sure ties in beautifully with the stunning moodiness of this album

  • Steven - you constantly raise the bar - now reaching into the heavens

  • S.W. is a GOD or just GOD . . neone know if he literally played all the instruments?? I know he had some guests, WHAT A VOICE< can't stop listening HARMONY KORINE IS FUCKEN AMAZING. Wonder whats the the darkness??

  • Best album this year. Completely snuck up on me. The man is a genius.

  • This is for me, the best album on this year.

    So dark, creepy, amazing.

  • wots this song called??

    its epic!!

  • Steven Wilson - Harmony Korine

  • I agree with Sartof...To me at this point the only musician I can rank up there with the 70´s legends is Steven Wilson

  • So true mate.

  • I just purchased and downloaded the album.

This album requires a lot of listenings as it is complex and has many layers. It is only my fifth listening, I appreciate the album more and more.

When you have many projects like Steven, the question is how do you differentiate the sound, idea, and feel of the diferrent project.

I think in that regard, he has succeded as this solo album offers different flavor to Porcupine Tree. I like both the direction of Porcupine Tree and his solo album.

  • I loved the album and the fact that it was recorded in my country. Viva Mexico!!

  • a webo... yo todavia no lo he escuchado completo, pero las 2 canciones que escuche estan de webos...

    steven wilson es la mamada

  • The Album exceeded my expectations. Being from Steven Wilson, my expectations were high.

  • This album is some of his best work. The way he has evolved his previous stuff is amazing. Go out in February and BUY THIS ALBUM!

  • The full version is fucking fantastic

  • OMFG.

  • no doubt that wilson is 1 of the musical genius' of our generation.

  • How about THE musical genius of our generation?! I consider hime being the Roger Waters, David Gilmour, Jon Anderson, Steve Howe and Robert Fripp of this generation! ;)

  • Sir (starof) couldn't agree more... the musical genius of our generation... you just said it, by the way if you guys listen to veneno para las hadas, is just like the sky moves sideways (We lost the skyline)intro.

  • Yes,omg!

  • oh my god

  • Soloalbum = win.

  • I would say, it is solid.

  • this guy is a great musician, and his solo album is outstanding!

  • This album will exceed your expectations.

  • E' il più grande di tutti!

  • Concordo al 200%

  • The full version of Harmony Korine is posted on Steven's MySpace

  • Someone got this album already! They loved it i hear, and the rest are coming this week!

  • I am so fucking psyched! I need that album and dvd now! It sounds almost to perfect!
