  • easy fix, have to fit a j-tag connector to the board, buy cable off ebay, dl sw and reflash! done

  • U must connect 14 processor pin to ground and restart. Enjoy!

  • try another power adapter, plug it directly no pass poe

  • Most likely your power adapter is dead !

  • i have the same problem, does anyone know how to fix it? please help me.

  • Go on to the back, and hold the reset button; clicking reset won't work. This helps me once my Router screws over from a power failure or something.

  • ATTENTION! IS NOT BRICKED! The nvram is bricked! To solve it erase the nvram with de JTAG Cable anda tjtagv2 software!

    Regards!

  • hello!! Does anyone know how to DEBRICK a Linksys Router? please, post a video about it!

I just Bricked my Linksys WRT310N by updating a wrong firmware!

  • Comment removed

  • @MarkQP yes u can

  • My wrt54g v8 looks bricked but the power led doesn't flash, it's off.

LAN and Internet leds are always on. I've never tryed to update the firmware, it just died while i was on line. Do you know if it can be repaired?

  • i like math

  • How did it get bricked?

  • Now that is bricked. A good idea is to go to your settings. Get it restarted to factory defaults. Start from scratch

  • i got the version 2

  • u tried pouring water on it? might work

  • i stuck jam in my cdrom tray to repair it(lol)

seriously though, you can unbrick these

  • eigther u flashed wrong or u fucked the compenents with a soldering iron...

  • You will need to re-flash the CFE and NVram then erase the main kernel before tftp will work. I have the NVram.bin and CFE.bin files if you want them for free or google n7moe for my home page with notes on debricking it.

  • That Looks like a Linksys

  • Yep, that's a brick. Time to pop off the case and short some pins.

  • No, as the description says, this is COMPLETELY bricked. not recoverable by TFTP, shorting pins or JTAG; one of the chips has seen the magic smoke and will never work again.

  • I'm sorry to hear that your magic smoke has escaped.

Well, I guess you could always de-solder the antenna mounts from the board and sell the assemblies to me. Do you take PayPal and ship internationally? ;)

  • haha, my own router bricked (this isn't my video). my dumbass housemates tried to F' around with it while i was back home for easter.. even though it's actually my property, not ours. I was so pissed off i didn't get the chance to see the magic blue smoke escape. turns out it still has it's smoke, it should be recoverable with JTAG except my laptop doesn't have any parallel ports ¬_¬

  • are you completely sure???

fuck!!! so my router is bricked too

  • yeah, that pattern of lights mean hardware damage, not just corrupt firmware. I have recovered mine (WRT54G v2 i bought on ebay) since then. but i knew mine was a corrupt firmware, not hardware damage...

there are resources out there for "debricking" u might want to look at if ur not 100% sure yours is fit for the bin. but most forums etc are inactive since about 2004 and only v1-4 can usually be recovered anyway.

(PS never bridge pins, its far safer to JTAG to recover)

  • i think i'ts too late, i've bridged the pins but nothing happened.. anyway f*ck it i just sold the bricked router

    thanks anyway =)
